I am an experienced keyboard and harp player and heard a harmonium on a ZOOM concert on a Saturday night and thought "I've got to get one of these!" Amazingly, there was one for sale for 1/2 price 40 minutes away. We brought it home and took it apart and cleaned it up. My son is addicted to it! Your video has shown us what we've been doing wrong on our own (pushing the bellows all the way in and out) and not knowing about the 45 degree angle for playing. What a lovely service you are providing! Our harmonium is KARTAR brand, 3.5 octaves, built in 1986. Love it!
Thank you for making this video, it was the most informative one I could find as a beginning harmonium player. Would love to see you make more of these in the future.
This was helpful. Thank you. I am finding a lot of videos on chords and lessons, but not much on how to use the bellows to create what I'm wanting. I play piano, but this is brand new to me. I appreciate the simple tips!

On over-pumping: Sure, any player should be careful about this, but what about providing an internal relief valve that could bleed off excessive pressure? It could perhaps have it's own "reed" of sorts, that could just make an annoying sound (sort of like a "hey, idiot- you're pumping too hard!"-type of alarm sound).
do other culture other than indian play harmonium too in there traditional music, because i know its a western invention, i couldnt believe that it was not an indain version but i never heard it in different music tradition, i have no clue how it would sound, it always sounds indian to me

you can feel when the internal bellows is full when you feel more pressure on your hand, you will only over pump if you aren't paying attention
