I know what you mean mate. It's even worse when Im driving a lowered, classic car. . . . .But I have to admit I do like the LED headlights fitted to my Escorts. They light up the road waaaay better than the original ones. I of course have the adjusted so they are dipped properly. 👍
The problem is that driving has become routine and accessible to anyone and at the same time a necessity in modern life, so if we combine someone who does not enjoy driving, is not interested in it and does it for work for example, that person will treat driving like brushing their teeth or taking a shower, something that one does and does not really pay attention, then those people drive thinking about something else, distracted and are surprised by complex situations and also they are not doing something they like therefore they do not use willpower in what they do, before when driving was more demanding and vehicles did not drive almost by themselves and it was not such a relaxing and simple experience as now, many of those people felt more intimidated by driving and opted for other methods of transportation, besides having a vehicle was difficult, today they finance a vehicle for anyone. In short, driving requires attention, common sense and willpower, something that someone who hates driving will not have.
Hi Marcus, your correct in what you say these people have no idea of vehicle size, these new cars also blind people with there new high power led lights , they burn the retinas out of people ridiculous mate.
I daily my st170 down the back lanes from hemel to chalfont, it gets hairy at time's approaching super bright head lights at eye level where u cant work out what it is till its meters away then to have to give more room at the last second to pass without stopping . Its always the suvs

i think a major issue these days is common sense isnt very common, not to say they are stupid as they may not be, but common sense has certainly got alot more rare 🤣
When i cant fit hids to my old volvo, how the hell do these new cars get certifited with the leds that blind and dazzle, even worse when the plastic lenses get scratched and frosted.
I believe if you are able to swap the whole light unit for an LED one, it is legal. Thats what I have done on my cars but my cars run very simple round 7 inch headlights. 👍
Thats a very good point about the window size mate. Ironically the small windows will make it even more difficult for people to be aware of the dimensions of their car. 🤔
Mate... Ya wanna try being out in an artic!! 😮🙈 I think the one's that are more dangerous are the ones that think their vehicle is narrower than it is... Or could just be the arrogance of 'I'm coming through' and forcing oncoming drivers to stop! 🤔 I had one mush in an Astra van force his way in between a row of parked cars on his left.. And my trailer on his right... Needless to say there was broken bits of door mirror shrapnel all over the road... And the remains of his osf wing wedged in rear curtain pole handle of the trailer!! 😮🤦♂️ But he didn't stop.. Was off like a scalded cat!! Not your Cat obvs 🤣🤣👍
Its defo more dangerous if you think your car is narrower than it is. I defo see more examples of people thinking their car is wider than it is. But I suppose thats because I drive a narrow car. As a lorry driver it defo makes sense that you are more likely to see more people thinking their car is narrower. Luckily the lorry will always win when anyone wants to try their luck! 👍
It's the super-bright headlamps & LED brake lights that pee me off.

LED brake lights are the worst, especially when you’re behind a muppet who doesn’t use the handbrake in stationary traffic!
What I hate is the rise in red light runner's, nearly ever traffic light some moron is running them.
The standard of driving in the UK is ridiculous, let's get a massive suv to get the kids to school with minimum driving skills just a bug wallet !🤔
100%
Don't even get me started on supermarket car parking, even the small cars straddle the lines it's ridiculous.

Iv defo been victim of burned eyeballs from the modern LED lights mate. I think driving a lowered car doesn't help. 👍
very true mate
I'm not so sure it's spatial awareness, as incompetence
Id say being unaware of the dimensions of your car is an example of driver incompetence mate. 👍

Some cars look bigger, just look at the size of the windows, made small to make the car look bigger, bulging panels are another trick.
