Bro what happen if we break used motor that never been break before in a high voltage breaking method (5volts).because its motor used to run in 2xAA batteries (3volts). Is this motor will reach higher rpm? Thanks
I tried breaking in the use stock 130 motor , it did became faster .. but I used lots of contact cleaners . I spray in n pretty much flush it. I use a different method . reply if u want to know more how .
Saya biasa break in manual. Caranya pake batrei sama chassis g kepake terus dinyalain dinamonya sekitar 2 menit pas lagi di break in kasih semprotan slicker. Sampai suara mesin naik. Ga turun lagi. Terus kalo sdh dipakai lomba dinamo dicuci pakai wash bensin. Caranya kyk break in tadi. Dijamin dinamo awet. Box tempat dinamo dikasih silica gel biar tidak lembab.

It depends on your goal actually. If u wanna use it directly then it's ok. But keep in mind that a motor fresh out of the package usually have unstable rpm. It tends to go up and down significantly. So u might end up with an inconsistent run. The other alternative is to use a break in Torque Tuned 2 motor. It can match Light Dash speed in a tech course.
+john morressey i've never made a comparison between them. So i don't know exactly which is safer. But, so far there is no problem with this method. That's my opinion.

Yes that's correct. The voltage displayed is not the same with the voltage delivered to the motor. But, I got no problem with that. U can just use a multimeter to adjust the voltage. Thanks man!

Bang kalo breakin gini perlu berapa set? Taruhlah 1 set adalah 3 menit clockwise, 3 menit counterclockwise, beri cleaner. Apakah 1 set saja atau harus diulang beberapa kali?
I think that's not good for the motor. Because when you breaking the motor, the motor get hot, then you give the oil (for lubrication), oil is also a cooler. Hot metals suddenly cooled by liquid (called quenching) is not good for the motor. Quenching is good for some purpose, but I don't think it's good for breaking in motor
Hallo Roscoe, mau tanya kalo pake power adapter bedanya apa kalo pake 6v with 1a vs 2a vs 3a. Soalnya aku punya 5v 0.5a bisa bekerja (at 3v) buat light dash sampai hyperdash doang. Sedangkan kalo pake power or ultra keatas begitu di start langsung mati at 3v, jadi aku turunin ke 1.2v baru jalan. Thank you ya

Sebaiknya buka baru langsung break in sebelum digunakan. Untuk yang sudah pernah digunakan, biasa efeknya tidak terlalu terasa karena brush nya sudah terpakai sebelumnya.

Have you tested the voltage output with a multi meter? this machine does not output the proper voltage displayed. I have 2 of these, and 1.9 volts, actually reads 2.6 volts on the multimeter. Both of these gforce break in machines do the same thing, high inconsistent actual volt reading. There are other videos with reviews that complain about the same thing, just fyi. Your 3V maybe closer to 4-5v output.
+Chris Lee I did not test it. But yes, you are correct. The voltage delivered to the motor is higher than the voltage displayed on the device. You'll notice it by hearing the sound of the motor. But actually that what makes the motor has higher rotation than the normal condition. I've tried it by using 5,6 volt and so far by using this 3 volt that displayed on the monitor, I think is the safest method. And it produce great result also. Even some Japanese racer use 5v, 6v and even 9v to break in their motor.

i checked all the motors and all of them is working at 2.4-3.0V. do you think it's safe to do this with 3 cycles? 1. lubricate the motor 2. run motor at 2.4v/5mins 3. cooldown 5mins 4. lubricate the motor 5. swap polarity of alligator clips 6. run motor at 2.4v/5mins 6. cooldown
Never tried them before. I usually use high voltage to break in the motor to improve the performance. Or u can use a very low voltage with longer duration.

Nope. I just clean it after I finish the Break In process. Umm, as I said in the video.. There are many ways to do the break in process. There are a racer here who use 1 volt to do it. But I also saw a Japanese racer did some experiment by using 4-5-6 and 9 Volt. I can't tell you which method is the best, but I think 3 Volt is the safest to to the Break In process and it boost the performance of your motor quite a lot. That's what I think sir.
well you actually demostrated that it went from 17000 to 21000 rpm doing it like that so it must work for sure. As long as it s safe for the life of the motor then I ll give it a try myself since i have new motors and a new gforce too to be used. By the way, is there any difference between using a power adaptor and batteries if i want to do a break in like you ve shown? thanks
+Rudolf Behm I did it once with 6 volt. But your motor won't last long. And from my experience, LDP (Light Dash Pro) motor life is relatively short compared to a carbon brush motor like Hyper Dash Pro. The strange thing is... I treated my Torque Tuned 2 Pro motor and my Light Dash Pro motor with the same way. But my Torque last way longer than LDP. I dunno why.. but to use 3 volt for break in your motor is safe.. and FYI, when your LDP near the end of it's life you'll see its true potential. The speed can goes up really high. Way beyond a normal LDP.. but soon after that, the brush will snap. Me and a lots of racers here experienced the exact same thing with LDP. But still, it's one of my favourite motor to use in a tech race. Because the speed and the torque are not as wild as HDP. My concern with batteries is the energy will be drained eventually in the course of 3 minutes. I'm afraid it won't be able to deliver the exact same voltage throughout the break in process. I think the most ideal way is to use an adaptor.. Well, that's just my opinion though.

I like how this is simpler than other break ins, just 3 mins each polarity then clean with contact cleaner. none of that oil or lighter fluid or w/e
yes, it's easy! Even with this simple method, you can already see the difference between the motor with break-in and motor without break-in.

Based on my experience, if you've used the motor then the break in result won't be as good as a brand new motor.

I think it can happens to any motor, but the risk of metal brush is higher compared to carbon brush. Imo.

I dunno. I like my method of motor break in by not putting any oil near the brush. I put oil just to lubricate the bearing

Yg ditampilkan paling mudah sih gan. Kalo ga punya alat, gini aja, pasang 1 batre alkaline fujitsu di chassis. Sisi sebelahnya disambung pake kabel. Nyalain (sesuai arah jalannya mobil), taro kulkas biarin sampe batrenya habis. Paling sederhana sepengetahuan saya demikian.

Well it depends on the motor itself. Sometimes you can get bad motor out of the package bro.
My hyper dash pro only get 21K rpm :( I got very bad motor out from the package

i checked all the motors and all of them is working at 2.4-3.0V. do you think it's safe to do this with 3 cycles?

2. run motor at 2.4v/5mins
3. cooldown 5mins
4. lubricate the motor
5. swap polarity of alligator clips

Never tried them before. I usually use high voltage to break in the motor to improve the performance. Or u can use a very low voltage with longer duration.
@roscoe, there is a amp consumption of the motor. Is this also important to look at?
Yes. Just keep in mind that if the consumption rate is higher, then it will drain the battery faster.

karena bener2 awam didunia mini 4wd sto,saya masih dilema masalah break in dinamo,ada yg bilang langsung colok power,ada yg bilang lebih aman make dinamo tambahan ,trus buat bersihin dalemannya ada yg make minyak singer baru cc,ada yg cuma cc ,pusing ane gan mau nyoba takut kenapa2 ni dinamo wkwk
+bisma a pada akhirnya memang butuh beberapa eksperimen gan. Termasuk proses belajar. Kalo ada motor rusak dengan cara a, atau karena cara b ya itu jadi pengalaman. Tapi kalau nggak dicoba, gak akan tau nanti gan dan ga akan bergerak kemana2 jadinya. Coba dulu saja gan, baru dibandingkan nantinya.

you dont clean the motor first nor oil the motor regularly while you do the break in? would it not be best to break in at a low voltage or higher voltage is safe enough? Thanks :)
Nope. I just clean it after I finish the Break In process. Umm, as I said in the video.. There are many ways to do the break in process. There are a racer here who use 1 volt to do it. But I also saw a Japanese racer did some experiment by using 4-5-6 and 9 Volt. I can't tell you which method is the best, but I think 3 Volt is the safest to to the Break In process and it boost the performance of your motor quite a lot. That's what I think sir.
well you actually demostrated that it went from 17000 to 21000 rpm doing it like that so it must work for sure. As long as it s safe for the life of the motor then I ll give it a try myself since i have new motors and a new gforce too to be used. By the way, is there any difference between using a power adaptor and batteries if i want to do a break in like you ve shown? thanks
+Rudolf Behm I did it once with 6 volt. But your motor won't last long. And from my experience, LDP (Light Dash Pro) motor life is relatively short compared to a carbon brush motor like Hyper Dash Pro. The strange thing is... I treated my Torque Tuned 2 Pro motor and my Light Dash Pro motor with the same way. But my Torque last way longer than LDP. I dunno why.. but to use 3 volt for break in your motor is safe.. and FYI, when your LDP near the end of it's life you'll see its true potential. The speed can goes up really high. Way beyond a normal LDP.. but soon after that, the brush will snap. Me and a lots of racers here experienced the exact same thing with LDP. But still, it's one of my favourite motor to use in a tech race. Because the speed and the torque are not as wild as HDP.
My concern with batteries is the energy will be drained eventually in the course of 3 minutes. I'm afraid it won't be able to deliver the exact same voltage throughout the break in process. I think the most ideal way is to use an adaptor.. Well, that's just my opinion though.
