Oh hey, the neck/head on Dr Wu's Slicer is misassembled-- if you pop it off the bar and reattach it the other way around, the tab doesn't prevent it from rolling in vehicle mode and locks the chest in place in robot mode. If anything my favourite Slicer is the Magic: The Gathering one. I've a commander deck built around him that I took to represent my LGS at an inter-store event. Ended up kicking the other store owner's ass so badly (whole pod dead on turn 4 with me on full health), it warped their eventual commander league's scoring to prioritise commander damage. Zero regrets.
@@NiStuff It's such a spectacularly brutal card. When he's in robot mode, you've the option to pass him to each of your opponents on their turn. They have to attack with him, and they can't attack you unless you're the only other player left. So you make him giant and force everyone else to kill each other. Best part about the card, though? it depicts a version of Slicer that just straight up never appears anywhere else. The lineup of characters was determined by who had a Shattered Glass toy so they could do the mirror versions in collector boosters, but seeing as regular slicer looks identical to SG slicer... they made his regular version look like Wheeljack but in Armada Wheeljack colours. Which I'm pretty sure makes this specific slicer the waluigi to G1 wheeljack's mario: a mirror of a mirror.
I have a friend who's a hardcore MTG fan and I was shocked to learn that Slicer is somehow a key part of the current MTG meta (apparently the Transformers set pretty much broke the game), so his most impactful appearance may actually be as a trading card lmfao. Also according to MTG, this guy is Shattered Glass Slicer but also Shattered Glass Wheeljack (maybe they're the same person, maybe they aren't) while positive universe Slicer is a different guy who uses Armada Wheeljack's colors, which is a beautifully convoluted and confusing attempt to solve a problem that didn't really exist, which I simply adore
Hell yeah, it seems like he hits that impossibly perfect spot between the people making the cards not caring enough about who he is so it makes sense to everyone (and who already had a toy they could cross promote) but also caring way too much about who this guy MAY be and making sense to no one haha A reflection of a shattered mirror.
I think everyone has those characters that aren't main players, or even recurring characters, but they appeal to you. For me it's Vector Prime, i just love a clockwork ancient timetraveling knight.
