I like my XDS .45, but recently bought a Shield Plus 9mm to have access to cheaper ammo. I went into the gun store to buy a P365, but after shooting both on their range, walked out with the Shield. It fit my hands better and has a much better trigger than either the Sig or the Springfield. And both myself and my wife shot the S&W slightly better than the Sig, probably due to the better trigger and what seems to be a softer recoil.

I carry a revolver primarily. I use a similar carry method called the Fife method. Most of the time the revolver is empty in my holster and I keep one round in my shirt pocket for the warning shot. If conditions are sub par, I will carry the revolver with the one round chambered so I can get that all important warning shot off even faster. Good to see you teaching the importance of the warning shot. You're doing the Lord's work, brother.

I carry the M&P Shield Plus every day with the EPS carry dot and Speer Gold Dot 124 gr ammo and for me it’s one of the most reliable and accurate smaller carry guns you can get! I have Glocks, Sigs, Hellcats and for me this little Shield just fits the bill!
This is truly a great innovation! I've been looking for a weapon that can fire without bullets, because my wife won't let me buy more than one bullet per week. She says I start getting all sassy if I have multiple bullets.
I love the dripping sarcasm from the beginning of the video. People that don't shoot have no idea how impressive both the weapon and shooter were in that video. Most novices at a range struggle to hit a 12" target at 7 yards. Pushing out to 70 yds with a CC pistol, Nuts!! For demonstration its extremely impressive! Real world, I cant imagine a scenario where I would take a shot at that distance with that weapon. I would either close the distance or just flee depending on scenario. Newayz, great video and amazing shooting. BTW, I have that exact same gun and I also have a Springfield XD-9. Dimensions are exactly the same. Both are great but IMO the Springfield has a better trigger and the sights are superior. I don't know what it is but dang it, I easily hit everything I point that thing at. Great video, thanks Sir.
i love mine, never had a jam or misfire , minimal recoil and a great trigger too , for the price point its one of the best out there , i know you can get 13rd and 15 rd mag , and a 50 round pro mag too
I've had my M&P full-size for probably six years now. It has to be one of the most comfortable guns in my hand that I've ever used. That's why I haven't bought anything else. I did put an aftermarket triggered in and a magwell. Love it.
You forgot a crucial step! After the warning shot, loading the mag, and chambering a round you are supposed to remove the magazine. Then engage the target with your single bullet. This is how we always stay ATF and CA compliant whether we’re in CA or not.
S&W originally back in the day or making the 39-2 or 10-06 made pistols that would not fire if the magazine was removed. It was a safety feature for LE that in the event of a gun grab or a fight over the gun they were trained to drop the magazine rendering the pistol inert making it an expensive pair or brass knuckles. When the magazine was dropped it would disconnect the sere and the trigger would become dead.
This feature saved a life. I was a former police officer trained on the old smith platforms. I was working as a firefighter years later and encountered an armed man on a call. The man pulled the gun up to shoot himself and a fight over the gun began. out of instinct I dropped the mag. The gun did not fire. he gave up and went on to get treatment. He went on to live a good life and be productive for his family. The worst part of the call is when the gun came out the cops left me and ran outside.

You would think he would have tested that theory out on something he didn't mind shooting, not his head.
disagree- it is NOT an ugly gun. In CA the SW MP Shield you have CAN'T fire unless magazine is inserted. remove the magazine on CA models and it will NOT fire
Great shooting! - even with the cheap ammo! I cant reach out that far yet but I'm working on it :) I'm actually surprised you guys dont roll your own especially with 9mm. I shoot a ton of 45 and after seeing 100s of once fired 9mm brass every time I shoot at the local area on BLM land, I just started collecting it every time I went. I was thinking of its value in a SHTF situation for trading. Now I have over 3000 pieces of brass, got a set of Lee dies and a 6 cavity 9mm bullet mold. I just got a BCA 9mm carbine and its super fun to shoot. Getting the brass free, scrounging scrap lead from sifting shooting berms and the PCing the bullets, its really cheap to shoot - yet you can tailor the ammunition to your specific gun (using the barrel as the gauge) making it the most accurate ammunition you can get for your gun. Keep up the great vids!

I have one of these, and older 1.0 version. Super easy to shoot, super compact. Looks goofy but feels real nice in your hand. The 2.0 has a better trigger but the old one is still pretty smooth. Neat little gun.

That gun had so many safety features. Funny to see them put the warning on the side of their newer line guns.

I was involved in three on duty shootings but NEVER fired a warning shot. Things go down so fast there’s no time to do anything but shoot back.

Totally agree, Shield Plus is a good gun. The 13 and 15 round magazines fit my hands well. Mine has been perfectly reliable and trustworthy.
