Here is a guide on how to use the Autopilot correctly as well as a few tips/bugfixes. Let's say you start at a planet's orbit without having any mod function from the ship controls menu enabled. First, make sure to put some power in your grav drive and engine based on the speed that you need. Make sure that you get the Super cruise speed change notification in the corner. Then go and enable the Interplanetary Travel from the menu first and then enable Autopilot second. If it works, you will get a notification in the corner saying that "You can now use the Supercruise boosters to reach Autopilot speed". This means that you are good to go and aim for your target planet and boost in that direction. A few seconds later you will get a notification that the "Autopilot is engaged" which means you can get up and roam freely. When you reach a new orbit you will get notifications and both the autopilot and supercruise will be turned off automatically. (Sometimes it will disengage and say it has reached a new orbit but if you aren't close to the planet then it means that it detected that you are close to the star of the system). You should sit back in and do the same process as I mentioned before and you will always have it working. -Make sure that your ship will reach within the 33LS radius of the target planet. (Sometimes you may need to sit on the chair and slightly adjust the ship's direction because planets move) -If you land on a planet and then takeoff but the supercruise wouldn't work then enable Autopilot from the controls menu while having power in your grav drive and then once it is engaged you simply need to completely remove power from grav drive and then power it again and it will be fixed. (Also works if the Supercruise is broken after switching ships) -If Supercruise boost gets bugged and stays at vanilla values then just power down the grav drive and put power back in. (You will get a notification that a Supercruise level is engaged and that means its fixed) -To disengage the autopilot while en route to the destination you can power down the grav drive completely and in order to start the autopilot back up just repeat the process that I explained in the beginning. -Keep track of the notifications that you get. You will see that they are very helpful and can indicate when the mod is fine and when its bugged.
Just after discovering this mod, thanks to you. Love the Takeoff and Enable Automatic Takeoff feature., love to be able to stand there and watch my ship land and take off and to be able to look out the cockpit window as my ship flys into orbit, so cool. Haven't tried the other features on this mod yet, to busy enjoying the Takeoff and Enable Automatic Takeoff. One of my favourite mods so far and a big shout out and thank you to the creator, RealityIDR
Could be an outstanding mod when the bugs are sorted. You came up with some good ideas too but no idea how hard they would be to implement. It’s already had a lot of work put into it but if the modder can iron out the bugs it could be a must have mod! Well done to the author for what he has achieved so far!

(You sometimes may need to sit on the chair and slightly adjust the direction that you are going) -To disengage the autopilot while en route to the destination you can power down the grav drive completely and in order to start the autopilot back up just repeat the process that I explained. -Whenever you turn on the Autopilot and it shows the "Autopilot is engaged" notification instead of "Use Supercruise boosters to reach Autopilot speed" then it means its bugged and you should empty all the power slots from grav drive and you should get a "Autopilot is disengaged" notification as a result of that. After that just put the power back in the grav drive and go enable again the Interplanetary travel first and then autopilot second. Then you will get the "Use Supercruise boosters to reach Autopilot speed" notification which means you are good to boost and start travelling.
I started using this mod a few days back, and after my initial confusion how to set a course (duh... once I opened my scanner suddenly it all became clear!) I suddenly found myself feeling giddy and that first time I flew through the rings of a gas giant and then flew past an eclipse happening in real time on that planet.... that was pretty special! this mod has changed the whole feeling of the game for me because now I feel so much more like I'm exploring space! there's another mod for EVA space walks - feels a little choppy still for me so I'm holding off on that one (if modders can work out the whole clipping thing when using these more immersive methods of play then I think it'll feel so much more like that feeling you get when watching The Expanse!) my main requests of this particular mod are: a) give us better controls over the settings like - I want to open the super cruise and autopilot settings while in flight sitting at the captains seat without having to get up every time then sit back down just to activate them again (I Do love that I can change them while walking about my ship!) b) fix the controls for auto take-off etc - I don't always want that option in because sometimes I go back to my ship to grab something that's on the ship, but not in its inventory - or sometimes I want to use one of my workbenches without going off planet. like... add it as a 3rd option eg "E - enter ship, R - Cokpit, T - Take-off" something like that. c) once the bugs are worked out for proximity - like the ship stopping because it's too close to the sun/star D) would be AMAZING if you could set auto paths for autopilot - let the computer plot in a course, actually make use of the nav computers on our ships - then go on about our business on the ship ship enroute. E) set fuel limits based on speed - make the speed mean something (I realise in the lore that helium3 is only used for grav drives) but surely there's some way we can make it so it's like, the faster you go somewhere, the more fuel you consume - giving incentive to fly at slower speeds, causing more time spent in flight on the ship. (i mean if I was given a choice to travel to the city from home by car, train or helicopter all leaving from my doorstep for exactly the same cost... I'd pick the helicopter every time!) regardless this mod is great and I really hope this modders continues working on it as I've seen the other sunlight mods and so far I haven't seen any that let you set a autopilot so you can walk about your ship mid-flight.

Okay last comment and then I'll stop spamming lol but I don't know if you've played with Astrogate recently, but it's a LOT easier to use supercruise now. It's still a little gimmicky, but basically you just remove all your shield power and put it into Grav Drive and this will engage supercruise after boosting. The level of supercruise depends on how much power you allocate to the grav drive. The mod author also included "gravity well" detection. So if you get close to a planet then you'll be pulled out of autopilot and I think supercruise so that you don't just fly through or past the planet. It's much more functional now! Hopefully you can do an updated video.
I really wish this mod would show visual effects when your ship is in autopilot. You can see the ship moving, but it's very subtle. I guess that's realistic though.

I went on “Debug” then an accidentally pressed “Unload Astrogate for Uninstallation” now the ship remote is removed from my inventory and I can’t get it back. I’ve tried uninstalling the mod and reinstalling but no matter what I try it never comes back to my inventory. Any suggestions? (Update: Nevermind, you just need to land on a planet and go outside your ship and the “Ship Remote” gets put back into your inventory). What we really need is a mod that removes the invisible barriers . Try flying around a planet to assess a blue dot on your screen . That blue dot will just stay in the same place because you are flying against an invisible barrier . I turned on God mode so that my boost wouldn't run out . And after 10 minutes of boost flying in the same direction nothing changed . The blue dot that was hiding behind the planet was in the exact same place .
You just need to hide the loading screens in some way or another. Like even fallout 4 hid the loading screen with the elevator. But here they didn't even bother to put a grav effect animation as the loading screen. But I'm glad modders are fixing it

The RKK ship hacker mod uses a marker that you set for the ship to land on. If you have a crew why are you the only one that pilots it. You should be able to tell someone else to fly it. You never see them doing their jobs. They just hang around. Not realistic at all.

Gravity wells would only get you if your speed is lower than the strength of the planet's gravity. I could see a version of this mod in which the ship warns you of approaching planet and auto stops I guess. Stop comparing to ED. ED was designed that way and is a space sim, this is a mod. Also traveling at such high speed, of course you're going to miss the planet.
Considering elite dangerous is a spaceship game with a feature quite similar to what this mod is trying to do. Of course, I'm going to make that comparison. Just like I'd compare it to mass effect or any other Sci fi fantasy game I've played. I dont know why you'd see it the comparison as a negative
This mod seems cool when you want to chill or just do stuff, craft or whatever while traveling.

this mod has changed the whole feeling of the game for me because now I feel so much more like I'm exploring space!
there's another mod for EVA space walks - feels a little choppy still for me so I'm holding off on that one (if modders can work out the whole clipping thing when using these more immersive methods of play then I think it'll feel so much more like that feeling you get when watching The Expanse!)
my main requests of this particular mod are:
a) give us better controls over the settings like - I want to open the super cruise and autopilot settings while in flight sitting at the captains seat without having to get up every time then sit back down just to activate them again (I Do love that I can change them while walking about my ship!)
b) fix the controls for auto take-off etc - I don't always want that option in because sometimes I go back to my ship to grab something that's on the ship, but not in its inventory - or sometimes I want to use one of my workbenches without going off planet.
like... add it as a 3rd option eg "E - enter ship, R - Cokpit, T - Take-off"
something like that.
c) once the bugs are worked out for proximity - like the ship stopping because it's too close to the sun/star
D) would be AMAZING if you could set auto paths for autopilot - let the computer plot in a course, actually make use of the nav computers on our ships - then go on about our business on the ship ship enroute.

Oh you want the boring version of the review. Yeah you’ll have to keep searching and hope someone else is taking their time to review these mods daily. Now if you’re looking for entertainment subscribe and stick around, lots of leg breaks, and you never know when Cora will get in trouble next.
@tripledair
Many of us that come here all the time to watch Crimson we like how his videos are, and if his style of videos isn’t for you then there are other streamers out there. 👍
@@Slackerdude74 ok that's fair
Oh my god, he went plaid
Figure out what you're doing before attempting to make some video about it. That was absolutely painful.
That's my style of recording reviews. If you don't like it you don't have to watch it
I am not getting the super cruise option.
Make sure to equip the ship controls weapon
Guide for all players that are having difficulties with the autopilot.
Let's say you start at a planet's orbit without having any mod function fro
m the menu enabled. First, make sure to put some power in your grav drive and engine based on the speed that you need. Then go and enable the Interplanetary Travel from the menu first and then enable Autopilot second. If it works, you will get a notification in the corner saying that "You can now use the Supercruise boosters to reach Autopilot speed". This means that you can now aim for your target planet and boost in that direction. You should sit back in and adjust the direction of the ship and do the same process as I mentioned before and you will always have it working.
-Make sure that your ship will reach a distance of at least 20-50LS or closer to the location of the desired planet. (You sometimes may need to sit on the chair and slightly adjust the direction that you are going)
-To disengage the autopilot while en route to the destination you can power down the grav drive completely and in order to start the autopilot back up just repeat the process that I explained.
