    Nice to see GVM pushing themselves with bigger lights! I have to admit, I did chuckle at the misspelling of the MENU back on the rear of the fixture.

      Hey hey again Gerald!
      Definitely nice to see them giving this a whirl. Haha it was the first thing I noticed when I opened it out the of the box. Both lights were misspelled. I decided to not bring attention to it and just let it go haha.

    I'd love a quick output/color accuracy comparison between the GVM YU200 vs the Aperture p60c!

      Hey hey again Alfonzo!
      You can check my output numbers on my website at tldrfilmmaker.com
      As for the color checker tests you'll have to pull up the two videos and check them side by side. At some point I need to find a web developer so that I can upload all of these test charts online so you can just pick two lights and it'll display them side by side for you.
      TLDR, the output between the two are nearly the same however the P60c is a spot beam and the GVM is a flood beam. Depending on your needs this could be a deciding factor.
      As far as color accuracy goes, they are very similar. Pretty much all CCT results these days are identical where it counts (skin tones)

    Another good review. The 200's color temperature accuracy issue sounds like a bug that could be solved with a firmware update. Don't know if these lights have the ability to have their firmware flashed.

      Hey hey again Michael!
      I think in theory it should be able to if they program it into their smartphone app to flash it. Not entirely sure if GVM is that dedicated enough to be putting out firmware updates like Aputure and to a certain extent Godox.

    Great review! From the specs it seems like the Amaran p60c might still be a better budget choice unless you absolutely need dmx input/output.

    • @Trevellian
      @Trevellian 2 года назад

      Yes, The Aputure / Amaran should have actual color accuracy and is 1/3rd the price. No DMX, but does offer wireless control with SidusLink. Though have read a lot of complaints recently about SidusLink's reliability in the field. Will probably only go with DMX / CRMX lights in the future.

      Hey hey Erik and Michael!
      The P60c is definitely a great bang for the buck for sure. The only difference is that it uses focused LED's to achieve is punch in the center of its beam where as these GVM's are more flood like the Nova. Depending on the lighting setup, the Amaran are definitely the budget way to go but with a weak yoke for certain setups.
      Very interesting to hear about he SidusLink not performing as well in the field. For the most part when I've had to use it it seemed fine, but I haven't tried to push it with a ton light fixtures as I only have a few in use at a time.

      @@TLDR_filmmaker Haven't had any SidusLink problems either, but have read many reports of issues. DMX / CRMX can be used across brands, so should be relatively futureproof. And there are now reasonably priced dongles to allow a laptop to control CRMX lights.

    Hmm, I have been spelling Mune wrong my whole life, I was spelling it "Menu", I'm surprised nobody corrected me! I have some GVM lights, but I am moving away from them as I'm not longer convinced they are quality, especially the one I have which is a knock off lite panel. I tried to get some review units from GVM, but they told me to buy them and I'd get a refund after I review them. If you think them asking for an email address is bad, when I bought my HoHem gimbal, it required me to pair it with their app, and I had to share my location. If I didn't share my location, the motors wouldn't be powered on, and I couldn't use it. Do you think this is aiming at Aputure or Arri?

      Hey hey again Dave!
      "mune" is latin for "menu" Haha! It was the first thing I noticed, I decided not to bring attention to it. On the other note I haven't reviewed a GVM product in about 3 years so this is a pretty big step up from what it used to be, but not happy to hear that your experience with their other newer products are not so great.
      Oh geez, what is HoHem thinking?!
      This GVM panel is most likely aiming at both since the Nova is aiming at Arri and the GVM is aiming at Aputure. GVM is so close to be perfect lower output competitor it they had tested the CCT and green channel while manufacturing.

      Hey hey Chantal!
      Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question!
      The 150w should be more than enough. My guess is your camera setting may not be set correctly. Watch my beginners guide at the camera setting section: ruclips.net/video/__dsOEMzrVA/видео.html
      Your ISO, Shutter, and F-stop (aperture) are all the same across cameras. Start with what I show and see what you get. Hope this helps
      Thanks again for stopping by! Stay safe, healthy, and I’ll see you in the next one!

      I know you saw my recent video. I am well, just been busy with other work outside of youtube. Hoping I will have time to do more live stream content in the future when I will be out of my youtube office for longer periods of time! Thanks for checking in, appreciate it!

    Hmm to me the gvm is no competition to the fantastic nova

    • @TLDR_filmmaker
      @TLDR_filmmaker Год назад +1

      Hey hey again Castiel!
      Definitely is not entirely like the Nova, but for a budget studio space where people may just need CCT, could be an ok option for a cheap rental package at the studio. Though most DP's just bring their own lighting kit and rarely use the studio rentals package it seems.
