Thank you for a great review. My Blackvue DR650GW is a little sick. Purchased 2012 I think. I need a new rear wire for camera. I’m still going to replace maybe with DR970X 2CH.
Thanks for the review a job well done! Totally agree with your "drawbacks" assessments especially in terms of the price... Here in Canada it is like $485 ($543 w/tax) for the single channel BlackVue DR970X which IMO is waaaay too much. Nope I'll stick with my Viofo's thank you very much.
Great review, and thank you. I would like to see your thought on the 139 pro with starvis 2. By all reports it’s image quality is miles ahead of blackvue
Does the dash cam capture things if the car is off? For instance I’m looking to know if this would be a good option to capture thieves moving around the car if the car is off.
Hi, how long does it record for in parking mode? I gather there is an optional battery pack to extend the parking mode but wondered how long it records in parking mode without the extra battery. many thanks :)
If you use the hardwire kit - it can go as long as the car's battery provides power. If you use the regular cigar lighter port - no parking mode at all...
QUESTION: Do you know where I could get SAMPLE VIDEO FILES of the following THINKWARE U3000 BLACKVUE DR970X ? I now have to get a NEW dashcam! I bought the THINKWARE Q1000. And turns out that one had CLICKING SOUNDS during recording. Took back to shop, they replaced it on the spot and discovered before we left that it too was CLICKING... So they opened 5 more boxes and ALL are doing it. Today they said THINKWARE now discovered this is a GLOBAL issue and even another model is doing the same so Now I have to figure out what to do. One of the ISSUES I discovered with the Q1000 is the video's will NOT PLAY ON MY DASHCAM SOFTWARE "DAKAKAM REGISTRATOR VIEWER" So Now I wonder if the Q3000 AND the BLACKVUE will do the same. The only way I will know is to import some SAMPLE VIDEO FILES to see if they work or not.
It's interesting that the cheaper DRX770Da has 3 channels Surely they should put that on their flagship model. It would also be super useful for say taxi drivers if they have a dashcam that looks outwards, inwards towards the passengers and a rear view camera
Why is it so difficult for dash cams to see / read car plates? Even this one seems rather unimpressive. I think that would be very important in a hit and run case for example.
Linus has a very good explanation for this. Apparently there’s only a couple of manufacturers in the world specializing in the manufacturing of the sensors
Not much of an upgrade over the 900x plus. But still uses older sensor technology but unfortunately needs to lift game over viofo for image quality and firmware updates
@@TechMishka still cannot clearly show the number plate which is the main porpuse of dashcam. Well, if they give good one out, they will loose the market for future sale
@@TechMishka I like that you can modify the bitrate. Slap a big memory card in crank up the resolution and bitrate, and that should give you the best chance to capture something.
I have the 970x. Professionally installed. Replaced the 900s. Very easy to use. All functions controlled by my iPhone. Set and forget
Awesome!
Have just purchased this model as a upgrade from the 750s , it's really the shape i like most with it disappearing behind my mirror.
Yeah, the smaller - the better!
how do these cameras hold up in june-sep texas heat? can they be damaged bc the internal temp?
This one has super capacitor, which is not affected by high temperatures.
Had the 650S-2ch and upgraded to this model with rear camera and LTE adapter. Is it me or does the video camera not as wide view as 650 model?
Perhaps the 650 is a little wider
Thanks for the review....can the wifi connect to a cars wifi module?
Unfortunately not
Thank you for a great review. My Blackvue DR650GW is a little sick. Purchased 2012 I think. I need a new rear wire for camera. I’m still going to replace maybe with DR970X 2CH.
Awesome choice.
Should i get this or the U3000 thinkware?
Good question... I haven't tried the U3000 so cannot share any opinion about it

Thanks for the kind comment. Truth is that most electronic devices have gone really expensive these days. Blackvue seem to keep steady pricing though.
Great review, and thank you. I would like to see your thought on the 139 pro with starvis 2. By all reports it’s image quality is miles ahead of blackvue
Yeah, it seems to be indeed crazy good.
Does the dash cam capture things if the car is off? For instance I’m looking to know if this would be a good option to capture thieves moving around the car if the car is off.
It will capture this if you install it with a hardwire kit.
Can the dash cam handle like 45 to 50 degrees of summer heat?
Yeah, it will be alrigjt

@@TechMishka Hello.
I want to buy the (DR970X or 970 LTE) I am doubting. Which is best? DR970X lte? Please let me know 🙏
Great review. Micro USB in 2023 is unacceptable, especially at such a high price point
Luckil it is mostly for the 4G accessory.
One more very detailed dash cam presentation.
Personally I prefer the DDPAIs 4K, mini5-Z50 & X5 pro.
Thanks for the kind comment and for sharing your opinion. I tend to share the same preference 🙂
Hello Brother....Rogbid King Smartwatch does not out of order before it's warranty ?
That is hard to say - we need to wait for a few months.
@@TechMishka Ok brother
This device has option connect to other hot-spot?
Yes, you can use the external hotspot module by Blackvue.
@@TechMishka BackVue only?
Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately I was disappointed at minute 6:45 Car in front so close and license plate not read...
Clarity of this dashcam is great. Sometimes there are reflections which are temporary and no camera can overcome.
@@TechMishka Thanks! Keep up the great work 👍
Cheers 🍹
first! hi michael, avid supporter here. timely i am looking for dashcam 😊
Hey MJ, thanks for the awesome support!
How does it compare to the u1000 thinkware ✌️🇨🇦🙏
It beats it in terms of video quality, but the difference is not that huge.

Use a proper player. I use POT player and have no issues. VLC is also a great one.

Agreed
Does this camera take video of the side of the car? Like if you get side swiped?
Not possible with this one.
@@TechMishka is there one that does??? that you recommend?

4k is 4k, $1000 does not justify that chinese made camera..
This one is not a Chinese-made camera

True that, Viofo is catching up
Special sale now 9/28/23, only paid $260 for the DR970x 2ch LTE with rear camera
This is an awesome deal l. Thanks for sharing
I also got an extra 10% off after searching for any coupon codes that could be used at BlackVue dropping the price to $234.89@@TechMishka
Where?
Au CES 2024 Est-ce que BLACKVUE va dévoilé de nouveaux capteurs??
I don't know...
Is the app free for this dash cam?
Yes, it is free
Bought a redtiger for a fraction of the price, does the same job as this
Nice one!
Lte?
This or Vantrue n5?
Both are great.
Направи ревю на REDMI WATCH 3, взех го и е супер за цената си.
Съгласен!
Blackvue says you cannot use 900 mounting bracket for new model.
That's strange - because this is exactly what I do...
How about using an actual 970X in this video?
It is an actual.970x, some of the closeups I borrowed from 900x as one of my sdcards failed me at the wrong moment...
Good catch though! 👍👍
Il ne manque que les capteurs plus performant avant et arrière!
Agreed
For a 500+ camera in 2023 shouldn't their be 4k 60fps or even 120fps 🤷♂️
As long as 30fps is superb, we can live with it
if 970 is the latest dashcam from such a brand, I have to say that is absolutely awful and I have to change my mind about choosing the brand.
What is it that you don't like about yours?
@@TechMishka still cannot clearly show the number plate which is the main porpuse of dashcam. Well, if they give good one out, they will loose the market for future sale
This cam has to wide angle .Its 162 .We see dash board abd i see Fish eye to
