Thank you for explaining this topic..But i have one confusion you have said that carbonic acid(H2CO3) will break into h+ and HCO3- and h+ ion will then lower the ph in the case of basicity so my question is that HCO3- is also producing at the same rate along with H+. Won't HCO3- affect the ph /increase the ph because of being conjugate base ??? Won't HCO3 reverse or cancel the effect of H+ in this way ?? hope you understand my question
