I am at the step of installing my tank, lines and brackets for my 1989 2,7 restoration and this disassembly was helpful for seeing what subassemblies I will need to put together.
There is a hose and fitting for the fuel filler drain. Video showed a small piece, the remainder is still in the car. Great work so far. Should replace the in tank screen as part of the restoration.
Great video if you need to replace the tank. I forgot how big that tank is… 80 litres. Most cars (not trucks) are only 60 litres and 4 cylinder cars are usually less than 60 litres. My Scirocco was only 40 litres.
Such a great series, I made it through all the videos so far! Look forward to future content, I love learning about the 944! Could have used Anthony with the fuel take lol He's a good kid, reminds me of myself when I was his age(im also Filipino lol) Doing a great thing teaching him a trade at a young age.
Daughter is Filipina, well half anyway...lol. Can't get her to assist unless it doesn't involve getting dirty. I invested in a wearable LED headlight so I don't have to hear the whining when I pull her away from her video games. She does like going to the Porsche swap meets with me though.
I'm absolutely loving this series! Thank you for taking the time to actually show the process, and not just a timelapse.
You're welcome! It always annoys us when a video cuts to after the component has been removed and doesn't show the process.

Way more useful information than my shop manuals!
Excellent video and walkthrough! Thanks! I'm in the process of messing with my fuel tank, pump and filter at the moment, super helpful.
