Thank you Mr Dean. That was a lot of information on the brushless motor and the build quality of tools
Very welcome
Very handy saw,and well built. Thanks for the thorough review. 👍🏻
Really not bad the tools Mellif delivers.
I have their green 1/2 impact wrench and cordless drill for Makita batterys. I can attest that they haven them made to a fairly high spec for imported made in china tools.
Both tools are very good for the price, the impact especially is stronger than I expected for the 20€ it is sold for on Amazon.
The cordless drill aswell, good quality, strong AND it seems that Mellif tools have some protection in them which other cheap don't have at all. The drill cuts out when you overload it at a fairly predictable load.
I have had drills you could stall completely and burn out the motor.
Also lots of airflow coming from the motor fan in both tools another plus means that it wont overheat and burn out.
All in all, Mellif knows what good practical cordless tools for everyday use need to be like.
Thanks , nice information to have.
Great video one of the bests no for the review was great for the class of the technical data of the motors and the little details in general of a good quality tool regards form mexico city
Nicely designed. I agree that a thumb screw, even a smaller one would be handy. Overload protection works great.
Hi Dean. Actually. After watching this video I purchased this saw. Am on the makita platform. .am actually shocked how good it is . And ps if u look in manual. They do sell spares for the machine
Nice little tool. I’ve never seen it here in the USA. I used to design, repair and modify machinery. I’m always amazed at how precise molding has gotten cheap enough for modestly priced equipment these days.
They’re on Amazon. To be frank, most if not all of their tools are carbon copies of others or weird frankenstein amalgamations. That includes trade dress and new patented products.
High rpm on circular saws doesnt mean much. Makita XGT will run on lower rpm too, but point is that it can keep that speed constant.
As per build, I would worry more about handle breaking due to fall, than the motor/cutting part.
The higher RPM is for concrete/tile cutting makita sells the same circular saws as tile saws in other countries, the housing is literally the same they probably only change the motor and controller
@@bladeoflucatiel Point was he compared it to a typical Circular saw. That aside, you can put any value on side of the tool, doesnt mean it can deliver even 70% of it. Even big companies put higher number than they should, but smaller/cheaper ones straight up lie about it.
I am not keen on the dust port throwing all the sawdust right next to where the motor is pulling in cool air it's going to fill up very quickly not a good idea 🤔
This brand always catches my attention! It would be something I would like to give a try. That sure has good power.
I got their small 1.4" impact driver for a laughable 24€ on amazon and this thing is an absolute blast.
Sure, it ain't no Makita, but for the occasional home use it is MORE than sufficient. Great value.
The ESC board can also read the back EMF from the windings. In that case you do not need Hall effect sensors to find the position of the rotor. Since there is no variable speed and the motor does not work on slow speeds where the sensorless detection is bad, it works perfectly.
Av got the 20v skil. 4 1/2 inch version of this.. excellent saw..(Screwfix)
Ever review/teardown the lidl parkside stuff? I have a lot of that stuff for hime DIY
Yes, iv opened a few. For the money, you couldn't complain about the quality or warranty
Great review , always good to find out about new brands that are good quality tools
I quite like the compact single handed layout. My 18v saw is bigger in the hand.
Give some of your regular customers it test in the field and do a follow up would be interesting
Get a digital tachometer to measure the true speed. I wouldn't trust the label.
Bosh do 140mm circular saw blades
Im sure it would better with a nice name brand blade too atleast
I have the DeWalt Atomic 4 1/2" and was a little disappointed with the quality but it works well enough. For $200 it better 😂
I'm impressed so just followed link to purchase one... but, "not available for posting" to the UK :-(
£59 on Amazon UK
@@1maico1 Do you have the link, by any chance? I've just tried again on Amazon UK (for the Mellif "DeWalt" version) but still no luck finding it!

Even though this cordless saw seems above average for a DIY tool, I'm not the biggest fan of other brand machines using Makita batteries. It may look convenient, but since none of those machines can actually speak with the batteries, it can't protect them from overloading or undercharging, which may cause the quality of the battery going down significantly or even totally brick them.
the battery control module is on the battery itself
Been honest it's way too expensive for what it is
😍😍😍😍
