My parents got me this back in 1985 from Consumer's. In many ways, this is the PERFECT Voltron to play with and pack in your backpack to school (which I did.) They're not bulky and can even be kept on you for EDC (Everyday Childhood!) No extra weapons/missiles to lose. Almost a perfect copy of the larger more expensive full-size ($50 vs. $20), I was *really* wanting this for Christmas. I'd spent countless hours looking at the Consumer's catalog, imagining what it would be like to play with. The best part is, you don't get the expensive toy anxiety when playing with it, which I dare say heightened the overall enjoyment of this Voltron! You didn't think twice about bringing it to a friend's house or a family vacation, unlike you would with the bigger brother. More carefree play, which is what all children should aspire to achieve! Thanks for the review--I'm going to get mine from my parents's house when I fly back! And you're right, it makes a good work desk showpiece...if only I wasn't working remotely like so many software people these days. Subscribed!!
Man, those look really good. Never was really exposed to Voltron fiction, so I cant say I'm a fan or not, but I do like the looks of these guys. Great review!
Man I have always wanted a voltron since the 80s....I just can't justify spending 300 on one with kids to feed....one day maybe my dream will cone true lol
Don't get this one, the plastic does not hold up. This one started breaking on me as I was taking it out of the package. Look for the Die Cast original. You can still get the Korean version, new in the box for a good price. Good luck hunting and thanks for watching!
This was the only Voltron set I had in the 80’s. Got it for Christmas in 1985. I really liked it but it kind of got its thunder stolen because I got G1 Optimus Prime that same Christmas and that guy consumed my life when I got him. Just got the SOC Voltron two days ago.
I loved this. I had it as a kid and my sis are playing with it now. how did you restore it? I see a couple things I'd like to do to mine (wheels, lion legs, connection of blue/yellow to black, paint and stickers), but I don't want to actually break it?
I carefully opened it and cleaned all the gears and inner part. You have to be careful, there's springs. I use Molotow pens for the chrome. Thanks for watching!
@@BertTheStormtrooper I'm a 80s kid. But I never get a voltron figure. Too busy with transformers. SOC voltron looks great but it's more TOY accurate and knee articulation is not good. So this is my chance to get a voltron. Threezero voltron has the lion leg covers like blitzway voltron so it's more CARTOON accurate and it has better articulation than SOC Voltron. At first I thought this voltron can't transform/combine because it's from threezero. But yes threezero voltron can actually transform/combine. Blitzway is the best voltron so far but the size and price is a bit too much for me.
this is the one I had as a kid! I found it on facebook I'm so excited to have it again!
@@BillLionaire12 that's awesome! Great find!

Would you ever review the diecast version?(The Matchbox/Popy/LionBot/whatever you wanna call it)
I could. I've been thinking about reviewing Vehicle Voltron, I may do original Matchbox Lion as well.
Not sure when but soon.
Thanks for watching!
@@BertTheStormtrooper If it’s the Matchbox Vehicle Voltron, be careful with that blue plastic!
@@zetarabbit6332 it's the Korean release. Same mold, better build quality.
