Excellent video, Dave. I've been a ham for 34 years and I can say, in my experience, nothing is more misunderstood in the ham community than grounding and bonding. And not just among new hams, but many an old timer too. Not only is proper grounding AND bonding (two different things) extremely important, it is REQUIRED by NEC.
I definitely need to get into this hobby a lot more. When technology fails (and it will), everything will depend upon primitive forms of technology and communication which includes amateur radio and CW.
very good . I have fixed Astron supply's for many years. very well made. 723 voltage reg IC easy to get . I buy 25 at a time. ground metal case to common point ground . use surge protector on AC mains. had many damaged from AC line surge. get a good metal one . like a isobar buy triplite . only a few had RF getting into DC . just a few turns of #8 0r #10 AWG wire threw a T240-31 core. wrap both + and - together. place at power supply terminals . best to put choke buy radio on DC leads. if running a amp put the choke right at the amp on DC power leads and ground the case to common point ground. all bonding of ground wire to rods is done out side of home and no soldering . clamp or weld connection's. 73's
I delete my 3rd wire grounds, from within power supplies and linear amplifiers, but they are all bonded (heavily) to a common point of a massive perimeter ground system.

All of my power supplies (both switching and linear) have a chassis ground screw on the back.
