All iPhones since iPhone X are dual SIM. One is eSIM outside of China (and Hong Kong).
And both are eSIMs in the US since iPhone 14.
I prefer eSIM because a thief cannot take it out of the phone. Hence, you can keep on tracking it.
And everyone else can do that too, you should watch Veritasiums latest video were he hacked an Canadian phone from Australia by just knowing the phone number.. 😅

Except in US, there’s no SIM card slot physically on iPhone 14. And on iPhone 15 lineup, Apple plans to make it exclusively esim only on ALL MODELS.

You can have dual esims on iPhone. For international version, you can use either dual esim or esim+physical sim. You can have more than 2 esims but only 2 numbers can be active at a time.
Apple patches this issue and says "that would cost an extra $500 sir 😂"

For me in belgium, dual sim is pretty standard on every phones
You technically replaced the SIM/eSIM module to be a SIM/SIM module. Hence this is why our iPhones know you got two SIMs installed. The iPhone doesn’t care if the second SIM is digital still or now physical, all it cares for is that there’s something to read off, if present.
This works with any iPhone supporting SIM and eSIM in one.

I can have have one physical sim and a esim.
Thats means I get to keep my original sim and casually buy esims and activate the immediately when travelling.
That’s if the country you’re living in have esims, also is easier to use SIM cards when traveling (specially because eSIM availability)

The US models do not have a sim tray but they do support dual eSIM so idk why he is having an issue with dual sim capability

In Europe we have the eSIM + Sim combo. Effectively a dual sim phone. I use mine like that everyday

eSIM works just as well. The only real reason to need two physical Sims is if you travel more than most people.

@@jacosta5580no the number of active sims is capped to two anyways. European iPhones have sim slots but although you can add ten e-sims and a pyhysical sim, you can still only have two active ones at the same time. Honestly this upgrade should be unnecessary.
May I ask how? We tried with T-Mobile and they said it's not possible for two esim from the same carrier.

The u can still use duel sim. However one has to be an eSIM. Genuinely helps both of my numbers in the same place.
Sadly the US Model iPhone 14 Pro MAX’S don’t support any physical SIM card at all unless someone is crazy enough to make a mod for it. Who knows if the logic board has the flex cable connector for the SIM card where it used to be on the iPhone 13 Pro MAX
Here in Europe we still do have the normal physical SIM card trail in the 14 pro‘s. So i think it should be on the same spot.
If you're always wondering why is there dual Sim card trays it's because those are full travelling to Hong Kong and to mainland China or Macau because they don't use the same network as if it's in mainland China or special administrative region
You can use 1 physical sim and 1 eSim.

Progress is becoming more and more regressive but entities like Apple are continually making such mistakes. eSIM may be convenient in some ways but the difficulty in transferring carrier info from phone to phone, as well as all related abuse in usage, offset its advantages. Besides, who needs to maintain 7-8 active carrier profiles in one single phone via eSIM?

I wanted to buy an iPhone XR o iPhone 11 back in the day to do this mod. But got an iPhone 12 Pro because my carrier star supporting eSIM. now I use a eSIM and a nano SIM for dual SIM functionality. Great video.

@@P_deka well it depends on the user, if you're already an iPhone user you can easily switch eSims to the other iPhones, but if you're an android user then sure that can be a problem... And I believe it's more easy to recover an eSim if the device is lost...
I think eSIM can handle something like 8 separate numbers, I know 2 is the default and there more secure than a physical sim

They have dual SIM, but have a heavily monitored and censored iPhone which crashes if you type in Taiwan. Also no satellite and many privacy and other general iOS features missing.

we have this in australia and my mum has dual sim instead of carry one personal/one work phone now. the only catch is in australia you have to have 1 esim and 1 physical sim. they told my mum it's to prevent people going with 2 different providers in the one phone 🗿🗿 idk if that's how it is in america but yeah

I know Esim exists but there’s an advantage to having a dual physical sim. You can switch between carriers at home as much as you want than Esim
Personally I intentionally carry separate smartphones for work and personal use. I don't want my personal and work accounts to share a single device in any way.
Dual esim is a thing... same with physical sim and secondary esim. Inhave a few customers at my job that activate their US number with the esim, and then use international psim when traveling. Lottle bit harder to do now with dual esim, but as long as you delete the secondary line once you are done with it you can reuse that second esim for a other international plan

You can use multiple eSIMs on any iPhone 12 or higher … most carriers are adopting eSIM anyway
In Germany we have a physical and a eSIM in our models. So we have Dual SIM too.
