I don't want his life to be more difficult, but I like his original voice. His English is good and he doesn't have to hide from his accent. He is doing good chemistry and information and his voice is unique. No need to take someone else's voice

The AI voice is easier to understand, & Is suspect the researcher in this video probably does not speak english.
Its now possible to post videos with multiple audios streams, for different languages. I suppose he soon can post videos with his own voice as well a sthe AI, and perhaps other languages.

If you were a fan, you already have seen the video about why he can't use his own voice. It seems that a rather depressingly large number of people don't understand this.
@@roncoleman7504 I watched many of his videos but definitely not all, I couldn't find a video/source where he explicitly stated the reason behind this. I would appreciate it if you can give direction to where he stated his situation, I want to learn more about it.
@@DangerousLab I don't know much about the current situation, but he has a history of experimenting with using a narrator for his videos, always facing backlash and reverting to his original voice. Four years ago, he attributed the channel's poor performance to his accent and asked in a community post "Alright, I will go back to the original style of narration, but seriously, do you people watch my videos for the accent or for the science?". Nine months ago, he mentioned "Due to increased workload and chronic fatigue, I can't voice the videos in English. However, my team and I have found an excellent speaker to clearly explain the content.". I have a feeling he's been considering a permanent switch to a narrator for quite some time.

Take the L and bring your voice back. You're gonna lose viewers over it. Pay the guy and do two videos on separate channels. One in a clear North American voice and one in your wonderful accent, and let everyone decide. I guarantee the one with your voice will get all the views. Sometimes you have to take the L and move on.

Remember, just because you translate to English, doesn't translate to Farenheit. In science, you also only use celsius.

There are many new exciting areas of development in chemistry - I sometimes read journals like Green Chemistry and it seems there is lot of research in using organic polymers for hydrogen storage (e.g. paraformaldehyde from CO2 or utilization of syngas). Biomass valorization is also a thing - like producing valuable chemicals (e.g. glycolic acid, amino acids, aldehydes) from simple sugars or hydrolyzed polysaccharides. New green alternatives are being found to strong specialized oxidants like lead tetraacetate or periodic acid, that do similar thing but are less expensive to recycle/dispose and more accessible to basic labs (it's fun when you have well funded top-tier research lab but let's be real - who has such an opportunity...).
This voice-over accent is completely wrong and unsuitable with the content of your channel. It is more suited to a show where the presenter drops buckets of goo over people as a prank. It makes me not want to watch. Please, as many others have said use your original voice, which is cool.

True. And if you make your own imidazolium salts the price gets around 200-500 eur per kg depending on the counter-ion and target purity

Definitely agree. You original accent was why I came to the channel.
Distilling imidazolium salts is extremely hard. You can purify them easier using activated charcoal and alumina. If you would ever want to synthesize them, two best methods are microwaves or with flow chemistry(or even MW flow), reaction times reduced from hours/days to minutes

Most fans don't like the new voice but still watch the video. Add subtitles to your other channel(Thoisoi without 2), not automatically created by youtube instead if switching back!
Some people might hear the accent and not watch the video because of that(or not like the video/subscribe because of that) and it's easier for you. We get to see more videos because of that and it's better for everyone.
I also like your old voice more but another voice is fine.
Still though, change the voice to not sound like a generic "top 10 fun science gadgets" video instead of a high quality one. This is definitely a turn off for many viewers. Pick 10 voice actors and let the viewers choose. Or I can help you choose, it would be a shame if the only good Estonian chemistry channel dies because of that.

@@omnirath Because I like the voice. The voice is what I come to the channel for. The voice is the thing that makes this channel special and unique among science youtubers. Its the channels entire selling point. Its incredibly frustrating that people have been protesting it for almost a full year now, and we just keep getting ignored. All we want is his OWN voice to be the one telling us all these wonderful fascinating things, not this lame generic voiceover. Makes me feel like I'm watching baby content.
He complains about the views being low on his videos, while completely ignoring everybody complaining about the stupid voice. Its his content to make however he sees fit, but its also our decision on whether or not to watch it. Its really disappointing watching him essentially say he doesn't care about his western audience enough to record his own fucking voice.

I guess when we start unsubscribing he'll get the hint. I hate to unsub but after all the complaints, he's just refusing to listen to us. I just can't watch anymore till he brings back his old voice. This voiceover is very irritating on it's own.

The reason is that they deliberately sell the printer machines at a HUGE loss and try to recoop + profit off the ink.

As a casual listener, I admit it is easier to follow the narration this way. On the other hand, the best way to get good at a language is to speak it! So you do whichever you think is best, but I'm subscribing either way.
Nah. I cant follow it anymore. His real voice made it easy. A few grammar slips didn't matter, part of the show to me, and I always learning so much from him (my grammar as a little joke here).
Why do you keep trying to change the narrators voice, is someone complaining? It's particularly weird having you on screen talking, why are you on screen we don't see the person talking, it's just you miming, or are you doing the video in another language as well?

What happened? why did you stop overdubbing yourself your videos? That's sad, the narrator is doing a good job, but it doesn't percolate the content at all, it feels completely off, like these discovery channel cheap shows.

idk man, i would def just go for crashing out the copper carbonate with sodium carbonate
Cu[NH3]4 --> CuSO4 + NH4 2 SO4
CuSO4 + Na2CO3 = CuCO3 + Na2SO4
then concentrate that down, ppt out the sodium sulfate, react ammonium sulfate with more sodium carbonate, distill off ammonia and use for the copper carbonate once again
now your only real waste is sulfuric acid and you produce sodium sulfate- which could potentially be turned into sulfuric acid by electrolysis

Absolutely true, HP charge $10 dollars in the US plus the number of pages you print, and now they are so greedy that they even get to know what do you print, copy, fax and scan, because their printers are hooked on theirs servers. So they not only sale ink, they collect data.

Sorry, "choline chloride" + "cobalt chloride" is a quaternary ammonium salt + a metal chloride; it is a deep eutectic solvent, NOT an ionic liquid.
Great video, But I don't see this method being commerically useable do to the extensive processing of the solvent. Probably the better use for old clothing would be for insulation, stuffing for seating furniture, or package padding (ie replacing packing peanuts).

I understand why you picked an American accent but it's kinda goofy to be honest. If I may suggest one, maybe try one with an accent. One you find sufficiently understandable of course.(even though your accent fits the bill)
Honestly, old voice was good. BUT, it's understandable why you likely did this. It's probably easier and much more efficient to use an artificial voice to get videos out faster
Next vote for the "original, old narration". I used to hear the "old" videos to relax and calm down, this is no longer possible with the new, "more aggressive" voice (no offence). Please bring the old voice over back!

I love these videos and I am pretty sure I have watched every single one to date, but I am really lost with this fahrenheit. I'm very good as converting or getting a feel for imperial to SI, but never could and or ever will grasp the concept of fahrenheit, trust me I have really tried. (had to google how to even spell it after 4 failed attempts with the auto correct). I think a good compromise for everyone would be the use of Kelvin instead as appropriate with all science education videos and what not.
cool video. the audio & video not being aligned was a bit annoying... whether that was your voice or someone else. I really hope you can learn how to improve that. I presume you're using another's voice because of stupid idiots' comments. I hope you can find a way to filter those out & not even give them a second of time. You have such a unique voice that it gave your videos a huge amount of personality. It's honestly so memorable that I would think of it from time to time and smile. Maybe its more difficult for you to record your own voice in English but it adds so much that I think it is worth it
