I read somewhere some spoilery bits I dare not disclose but I'm just gonna say great execution all around from the author and hopefully the same goes for the anime too.
Spoiler alert: . . . . . . . . The head priest did examinations and mine really died, the proof is a mana stone in her heart, urano most likely came to mine's body after her death, I'm still on chapter 348 of the LN so I don't know if there's more to it Also Ferdinand is an godlike being, head priest, master of feshpill, ex-leader of the knights, an alchemist, an magical tool engineer and a magic doctor, his skills are limitless (there are no other spoilers on this omage to Ferdinand)
@@pablolacerda1331 Reply to the Above spoiler. They got a few things wrong. . . . . . . . Urano was always Myne, Myne was always Urano. The fanbook explains this better but to make a long story short. Urano reincarnated with no memories as Myne. Myne, having the devouring, kept building up mana causing the wall blocking her Urano memories to slowly break down. During one of the side stories, Myne's mom recolects Myne saying she wanted to life in her dream world. Myne was slowly remembering her past self. Right before Urano becomes myne, as we see in the anime, "old" Myne is suffering from a really bad episode of her devouring. This ends up being the last bit needed to completely break down the wall separating her memories as Urano, causing what we see in the anime. "Old" Myne didn't die, but rather had what memories she already did have get flooded with her previous life. As she was an adult before she died, Urano had quite a few more memories, which is the cause for the confusion. TLDR - The old Myne didn't die but rather remembered all of her past life's memories as Urano.
You mature quickly when you are put into position of responsibility. Either you adapt well or react aggresively. He probably had to mature quickly to deal with the fact that his childhood friend is pretty much dying but has many wishes she wants to fulfill together with him before she dies. Also, he is her caretaker basically, so he doesn't have the luxury of fooling around at the behest of Main's safety
Luz wasn’t mad that Urano was Myne for a year since he never really interested with Myne much before Urano came along. He was scared that the Myne that supported, stood up for him, and had fun was him was gone and replaced. Once he realized that Urano was Myne for their entire interaction, he calmed down because she is the Myne that he knows
Basically,at some point her shenanigans got too weird and he got scared Because before she didnt do anything THAT bold like making a freakin paper from scratch, lol
@@skell6134 I mean, Myne already made efforts in her work that could be passable as alternative for papers before and Lutz wasn't being suspicious yet because he thought that Myne is just playing.
I've been waiting for a good isekai that left the MC at child stage instead of fast forwarding to late teen years like they always do after the first or second episode. I want to see the discoveries and the difficulties they go through when they're still young. I not only want to see the surprise of people in the new world towards the MC I also want to see the MC surprised about their new world.
Those are good reasons to stay with their child version indeed. Plus children can be more interesting all around when they arent just stock angry lolis. Myne learns, thinks and as you said she struggles. Kinda makes me want her to remain a kid for good. But i could see her becoming a saint when shes older. She'd have to be the most respected and beloved in the whole cathedral by then.
I think I don't spoil stuff, when I tell you that they'll continue to cover about 3 months per light novel at least until part 3 book 2 (that's how far I read) a book is about 6 episodes of the anime so she'll stay little for some time if we get more seasons.
Off topic but wanted to tell you, here comes another great anime: Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu Make sure to watch it. That said so far there is only 1st episode and they may skip forward but I dont think so.
the scene works because it was build up well and fits the characters. while it would be nice to have something like that in other stories, i would rather leave it out than insert it forcefully and be awkward. Know what i mean?
@@Tyarrk There actually enough anime's which did have enough time to setup stuff like that Mushoku tensei at very least for sure(i hope i said anime name right)
I really wanna see a scene were he asks about her previous life like how old are you, did you have a family, what was the world like etc. We haven’t seen one yet but I hope a scene like that is coming wether it’s the head priest or him
I hope that happens as well. Shouldn't Lutz be at least a little curious about where the new Main came from and who she was. Also I expected Main to miss her real family and friends but she doesn't... She just misses books, smh.
fred fred SPOILERS FOR NOVEL BUT at the end of season 2, at least i think that's the part it'll be adatped into, the head priest looks into Myne's memories and experiences them with her so he knows about her past life and past family and stuff. Except he doesn't really understand lol but he tried
SPOILERS The truth is that Urano IS Myne, its just that when she reincarnated her memories became dormant and should've been overwritten and forgotten as she grew up. But because Myne was so weak and spent so much time sleeping, she got flashes of memories in her dreams. When Urano "wakes up" as Myne and is confused, that's when Myne "dies" for the first time, or at least comes so close to death that her memories from her previous life reawaken. Myne and Urano aren't separate souls or personalities, Myne is just Urano with amnesia essentially, and when her memories come back so do her mannerisms. That's why she initially can't understand the language of this world, her brain automatically relies on the stronger memories of speaking Japanese.
@@lightyagami3492 Basically,Myne is still Myne, but she just got instant change of personality I cant really tell anything until i see that Myne which existed before past life memories awakening
@@skell6134 The only problem here was that when Ferdinand mind-read Myne's head, he was unable to understand what he was seeing. All he sees was an advanced civilization inhabited by archnobles but in reality, most of Urano's memories of her past life do not involve magic in anyway so Ferdinand only saw those things in his own point of view which made Karstedt and Sylvester misunderstand what he found on Myne's head.
I liked this a lot more than most because it probably weighs down a lot on Main’s heart because she thinks that all the love people have for her isn’t directed towards her but the previous Main and that makes her think that she has no place to belong, thought yes she has made a place for herself everybody just thinks that’s shes the same person that she’s al sys been and no one really accepted her as herself. So that’s why I think this is really important because she finally felt accepted by a person she cares for and was able to lift some of the burden on her heart. It’s also good because letting words out verbally to someone will undoubtedly help a person with a many number of things, so just being able to finally voice out something was another way that she could lift the burden on her heart and she now has someone that she doesn’t have to lie to and feel guilty about with would place a heavier burden on her heart. This is all my opinion and I apologize if it was hard to follow and if there was anything repeated but I just thought I would share what I gathered from this part of the story so far
Don't worry. Author is a massive fan of sinking ships. Like, a MASSIVE fan of it. If the paring is even hinted at, expect it to get blasted out the water some way or somehow. After volume 13, I have no more hope for any of the ships I wanted to sail.

@@superoakwood5513 hm i imagine the statement was given after the production of the show, since it totally does not depict it that way in the first episode ... well whatever, it´s not like this detail is important for the story
@@Tyarrk It is more obvious in the Light Novels. There is some chapters written from the parents point of view before Myne remembered her past life. The girl would mention a world of her dream (modern day Tokyo). She was also so sick that she never really interacted with her family. In addition, her parents were just so relieved their daughter was alive and becoming more energetic that they didn't care what else she was doing.
I loved this scene. My only wish is for Myne to have shared her old name: Urano, while making it clear that she's not really one or the other, but a bit of both.
@@superoakwood5513 I haven't seen Jojo (largely _because_ of how it's brought up everywhere), but I have seen Xenoblade, as well as various _real people_ with DID. While I haven't read the novel version, my understanding is that Myne would have dreams of Urano's life, but also that she really did die leaving Urano alone in the body adopting some of Myne's traits that she left behind. So you could argue that they _were_ plural up until Myne's death, but now she's just a singlet who's a fusion of the two headmates. Neither fully one or the other, but a little bit of both.
@@angeldude101 That's technically correct but sort of not really. Myne is Urano's reincarnation in this world, just whatever that was keeping Urano's memories sealed away was taken away so Urano's memories (and thus identity) flooded Myne. They're the same soul and technically same person, but Urano's memories was nearing I think 20 years? While Myne's memories only stretch like 8 at max. Myne never "died" in that their soul passed on or whatever
She doesnt know about that herself yet,she thinks that she reincarnated at same moment as original Myne died, which technically is truth because Urano personality mostly overwrited Myne's personality
I guess you aren't completely wrong but you do also have to remember thay different situations force people to mature faster than others. I won't argue that he isn't a bit too mature for his age but atleast all the other characters his age are similar. It's even worse when it's just one particular character that is more mature than other children their age.
Well, you've never met medieval children before then. When you live in a time where you could die young, you are forced to mature faster so that you'll survive longer... I'll bet that a 6 year old from that era is faaaaar more mature than our current 18 year olds who just stay home and whine about not having enough edge in their lives.
As mentioned in the events shortly afterwards, kids their age would be going on errands with money to buy stuff while their parents worked, and Maïn not doing so is weird. Though obviously her sickliness prevented her from ever doing so. So on top of kids going into the woods to gather food and wood, that's another point of how mature these children are because of their circumstances.
@@MiyashiruX Maybe, maybe not. 5 years old is still so young. We know that if kids are young enough they can't even do something as simple as realizing 2 differently sizes cups have the same amount of water in them even though the test coordinator literally emptied 1 cup into another in front of their face. Maybe 6 years old is old enough to develop basic brain function. But once you get young enough, kids don't have the brain function you would expect of a normal human being, especially emotional control. Their cortex literally hasn't grown enough to be able to control the animalistic emotions and desires coming from the base of the brain.
@@gorgefood9867 Sure their brain is still developing at that age, but that doesnt mean they dont learn. In medieval times they didnt have the luxury to waste time teaching them how to read and other things like that, but they had to learn how to work and how to survive. You may not know this, but in medieval times kids where not considered as important as an adult. If tthere was a lack of food they would let their kid starve to death just to save the rest of the family. Also marriage at the age of 12 was common and the life expectancy was really low, most people didn get past 35 years old.
I know this is edited to be shorter, but this scene is a masterpiece of teaching how your should view your fellow man even if she’s smarter than you. He was jealous that she gets to achieve her dreams, but he was told not to travel. He was jealous she can talk with adults as equals through her grace and charisma meanwhile he is treated as a child, because he is one. He forgot that Myne is weak and a crybaby. So when he saw her hand trembling and her eyes sweating (lol), he remembered that the Myne he knew is still here. And he probably also realized that no person is perfect or equal. Everyone has things they’re good at and things they suck at. She just has an advantage being older than him by a few decades. I might be reading too much into this. But it is a nice message to send.
Main is thought of as the smart one of the two. She has an adult mind and a large body of knowledge from books she has read. But Lutz is pretty smart too. He was able to work out this situation effectively and made a good rational decision for how to deal with it.
I always figured that what really happened was Urano died, and was reborn as Myne. When her mana issue started to come to a head, the resulting fever that nearly killed her, awakened her memories of her previous life. She never killed, or replaced Myne, she was mine the whole time. She could read books, the devouring was no longer a danger, and she reached a position where she could help others as well.
Of the shows I have seen. It tends to be 1. They are born and get their memory of previous life back at a certain age or from an accident. 2. They have the memory from birth but can't understand it till older. 3. In cases like Main (Mane, seen spelled both ways). The original person has mentally died, so the new person moves in taking place of the original owner. Some because they where 1st available and only a short time to do the switch before true death. Others because the God had a plan for them but something happened to take them out too early. Either the being swapped into or the other truck kun hit. 4. Actually reflecting on her past life is satisfying. As someone said in the comments, its pretty rare for these things to happen. For someone else to know who she is makes it feel more grounded, like her being in someone elses body isnt just gonna be passed off. The anime does great on it. Also I almost cried on this scene when she pulled on his sleeve and asked if he was ok with her still being there.
Well, it makes a certain amount of sense. The original is dead from her birth defect, and the imposter didn't intentionally body swap. She also didn't hide it very hard.

well, idk how many time i have came back here, but this definitely IS one of my most favorite scene so far in any anime. characters talking, or opening up about their past lives is kinda normal, although rare, maybe on ep9-10, or maybe even ep12. but this clip, made me just cry. Lutz, knew something was wrong with Myne, the weak girl who suddenly… became way too smart for her age…? and just decided to face-through it and ask her, straight-forwardly. And Urano, decided to face the problem head-on, no side-stepping, or whatsoever, she knows that the secret will broke soon enough. and one thing that made me cry is thinking how betrayed Lutz had felt right there. idr if he had feelings towards Myne, but they were close enough, and Lutz had always thought that was Myne all along. and the way he just accepted it, thinking how he had been with “Myne” longer than how he’s with Myne. it’s just an insane scene, made me love this anime so much. (p.s: on the first paragraph, i talked about how it’s kinda normal for characters to talk about their past lives, but rare. it’s rare because of 1. they’re “scared” they’ll be abandoned, or 2. no one literally asked them.)
that scene...no matter how often i watch it...i don't know...it just tightens my heart and makes it a bit hard to breath you can realy feel the pressure of myne v.v
I don't think Myne is truly gone. It seems more like she is both Myne and Urano. Urano died as an adult and, while Myne definitely didn't know as many things as she did before Urano's memories, she still doesn't completely act like a person who has the wisdom and experience of an adult. By her own account, she had less personal relationships to maintain in her previous life. In this one, we see Myne being more social. It could be attributed to her hard work to get her hands on a book, but then she also shows more childish reactions. I think Myne just adopted some traits and desires from the sudden addition of memories. She is and always has been Myne, now she's just Myne who can apply more knowledge to her world.
First Lutz then the merchant dude whose name I always forget and finally the head Priest. These 3 either figured out that she isn't who she says she is or she know way more than she should and there is something strange going on. All 3 are close to her and extremely perceptive people
I can't wait for there to be a dub so that I can hear people say 'Mai-een' instead of having to force my brain to constantly avoid reading the sub as 'Mayn'.

@@JustClaude13 interesting, that kinda contradicts the first episode though ... eh, whatever, it´s not like this minor detail is detrimental to the story. thanks for clearing things up!
@@Tyarrk It doesn't actually contradict the first episode. It just separates the two personalities. Motosu perceived a previous person fading out, but perceptions are sometimes illusions. Imagine waking up and finding that you're living somewhere else a few y4ears later and have no idea how you got there or what you're supposed to be doing. Lutz would have his hands full trying to cover for her while bring her up to date. Season 3 starts in April. I'm looking forward to her next adventure.
@@JustClaude13 that is certainly an interesting idea. but with all the other story parts going around, that would be extremely hard to pull of in a way, that it doesn´t confuse the fuck out of the audience and/or ruin her entire character development. we don´t even know, if Lutz will be able to stay at her side in the future. i would surely not go down that path. in terms of storytelling i don´t think such a twist is worth the risk.
It really does. And there is rumours of a season 3 so there should be one. I'm just hoping it will be better than season 2. They had cut a lot of material out that I would consider actually useful towards the story.
Isekai animes are very popular. I love anime storys about other worlds. This type of Anime is very popular now. It's sad that the parents don't know their daughter is gone. But what child would want their parents to suffer. She can move on to a new life. The New soul can take her place. It's sad and yet it's not sad. Seeing the main character suffering makes many veiwers have sympathy for her. This makes the audience care about the Charictor. But there's more to it than that. The reason is the very power that makes the lead character special. It is a beautiful film that can take you back to been a wide eyed kid again where everything in the world was a wonder.
I did hear a rumor that the author said Myne is still alive its just that when the new personality came in, because it had a longer life, OG Myne had a new personality since she's only like 5 and the new personality was like 20+. So she is alive she just a massive personality change
She's still the same Myne, I believe that was the Author's explanation. Just that her past memories came back to her which resulted to her developing back her past personality.

@@JPminer814 Thank you for explaining! I was worried about how Myne and Urano would be handled, but I think I'll start the anime and light novel now

The truth is that Urano IS Myne, its just that when she reincarnated her memories became dormant and should've been overwritten and forgotten as she grew up.
Also in the manga if there is no equivalent word for something she says she automatically uses Japanese for that word so nobody can understand her.

Both Urano and Myne are just different personalities Really kinda like Diavolo and Doppio from Jojo
@@angeldude101
That's technically correct but sort of not really.
Lutz is another magnificent example of the "Children don't act like that" anime trope. I've met 60 year olds who were not that emotionally mature.
Plus it help she taught him how to fed his family, his main problem for a family of 6 . She help him, he wants repay her
Main is thought of as the smart one of the two. She has an adult mind and a large body of knowledge from books she has read.

All 3 are close to her and extremely perceptive people
The merchant you speak of is Benno.
This show let out some pent up man tears for me
I can't wait for there to be a dub so that I can hear people say 'Mai-een' instead of having to force my brain to constantly avoid reading the sub as 'Mayn'.
You know they have the dub version out already on Crunchyroll
It's "Myne"
@@CrisF214 It really depends on reference. It seems subtitles say Main and the light novel Myne. Slight spoiler below:
But I'm sure even more people will get confused once her name gets changed.
You think i'm main, but actually... KONO DIO DA! ZA WARUDO!!
Now Calm down Nux Taku LOL
I love how one of them is actually a kid but acts very grown up-
(maybe spoiler)
Main and Urano is The Same
Maybe Main Just Got Urano memory and Main Got Her Attitude
Or Reverse of that
explain the vanishing voice in the awakening scene in the first episode!
This series always gives me a roller coasters of feels
So, are you the doctor that heals baby shark, mommy shark, and grandpa shark doo doo doo doo?
Lutz is the goat for this
I always thought Motosu was reincarnated in place of Main when the child died of her fever.
But the creator says she was reincarnated in the usual way and was always part of Main. Motosu's memories were only awakened when Main nearly died at the age of five.
where did she say that?
@@Tyarrk
It was in an interview.
I suspect if the creator has that detail in mind it'll come up in the books.
@@JustClaude13 interesting, that kinda contradicts the first episode though ... eh, whatever, it´s not like this minor detail is detrimental to the story. thanks for clearing things up!
@@Tyarrk
It doesn't actually contradict the first episode. It just separates the two personalities. Motosu perceived a previous person fading out, but perceptions are sometimes illusions. Particularly when an author wants to pull a later surprise.
A later chapter might reawaken Myne1 and cause problems until the two personalities are integrated.
This show needs another season. Change my mind, I’ll wait.
It really does. And there is rumours of a season 3 so there should be one. I'm just hoping it will be better than season 2. They had cut a lot of material out that I would consider actually useful towards the story.
it´s coming, yeah! ... the books have enough material for 20 seasons.
THEY MADE AN ANIME OFF OF THIS
I love this scene. 😭❤️. I love this anime! 👏❤️
The kid is so mature, most grown ups should learn some things from him
She still hasnt told her Parents.
AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN. THE ANTAGONIST OF THIS ANIME IS THE ILLNESS MYNE GOES THROUGH
This anime was so great! Hope season 3 comes out soon...
That scene where she talks and behind her appears her body dead its just, you know, just
Isekai animes are very popular.
2:01 Myne: Wow you just proved me right and ended up saying the same things in my imagination. *punch*
This was a thrilling scene when I first watched it.
Omgosh is this what i think it is!?
im so proud of them both 😭
It’s a mini Meliodas
This anime is so good I want another anime like it
Season 3 is confirmed
@@jebes909090 when it will be showed
@@niyaabd5783 probably next year.
I did hear a rumor that the author said Myne is still alive its just that when the new personality came in, because it had a longer life, OG Myne had a new personality since she's only like 5 and the new personality was like 20+. So she is alive she just a massive personality change
I believe what the author said is that they are the same spirit. Or something like that.
She's still the same Myne, I believe that was the Author's explanation. Just that her past memories came back to her which resulted to her developing back her past personality.
My favorite animu. People really do need to see the actual scene though. I don't think you did a bad job cutting it down for length, but the actual scene is about twice as long and has so much more impact.
I didn't know that this had an anime! I've only read the manga and never really thought of searching up if it had one or not 😅 I'm definitely gonna binge watch this
This scene stole my soul when I first saw it....time to watch it again :p
First off: I WILL HUG THIS CINNAMON CAKE UNTIL I DIE!!!
Second off: Stop confusing this blue saint with that red devil! Their names may sound similar, but they’re spelt differently!
Someone get that boy a medal 🎖
"If you want me gone so badly, I don't mind leaving a corpse behind"
I 4got how much of a banger ascendance music was
I wanted to slap Lutz for thinking that Main wanted to inhabit the originals body.
I cried in this episode it was so sad
I love this anime so much !!!!! But I wish they would come out with another season ! :)
Am l the only one who thinks that they look like marinette and Adrian
Now I cant unsee it.
God damnit
(•-•) ...
Damnit....why bro XD
Why did I have to read this
Weird, I remembered that Maine also said in this scene that how I would like a world without books or something along those lines
So now i have to re watch the whole series ☺️
Dang... One one hand I'm interested in watching the show but on the other hand this looks like the kind of story that's all beatiful and wholesome for the majority of the time, just to crush you emotionally with a tragic ending.
actually, it's not. and with it's second season, it has a decent ending spot that's more thoughtful than emotional.
don´t worry, it will crush you in between plenty of times as well :D
