Poor Bob took so many hits, what a trooper, grew up on this show with Bob! Some times there are just certain jobs that fit a person perfectly and Bob was made for this show, he was their golden egg for sure! 🎉
Bob Barker was truly one of a kind. The only one to come close to matching his timeless brilliance is Todd Newton, and I saw him host Price live at the Steven Tanger Center for the Arts.

16:38 is a clip from a “Cliffhangers” game from 3/22/99 where a contestant almost loses and Bob Barker made some mistakes in the game and he gave her the prize and finally won by a decision from the judges. The last time it happened back in 1981 during a “Cliffhangers” game where a contestant had won after a Yodeling Guy fell off the cliff and then Roger Dobkowitz was the guy was behind the board.

When the purple-ish Mercury pulled up I SCREECHED. I bought my first brand new Honda Del Sol that year and I must have been spoiled b/c they are 2 very different cars almost like decades different.

In the late 90s, a buddy of mine went on the show and won the showcase at the end. All together, he won: a $17,000 car = which he sold back to the show for a little over 10 grand a trip to Switzerland = but they would only fly him out of LA (he was from Boston). The trip was just taken back, no money given instead living room furniture - he found mold on the back of it a mountain bike - chain fell off first time he rode it the ugliest clothes bureau you've ever seen - white with horribly painted brown drawers, and the wood smelled funky Best part was that months after he was on, he came home from school one day and the prizes were all sitting in his driveway, unboxed, not even with plastic covering it. There was a piece of paper pinned to the chair "compliments of the Price is Right". Good thing it didn't rain!
