For the Viper, the stock wheel & tire configuration suck. Spend less money on modern wheels & tires, the car will not only perform better, safer, faster and cheaper. You will actually enjoy driving it.
@@Kieran_OPC Sure, but the GTS is still modern enough to upgrade, keep the stock units when you want to take it to a show, but modern set for daily driving.
brilliant video, would be really interesting for more this style like you gettingg things sorted on the cars. love the car show videos but with a 1 and a half year old this chill vibe is brilliant at the end of the day. also makes it easier to convince the missus that i need to buy car parts as 'preventative maintenance' :p
Engine conversion the twigo, + turbo:and screamer pipe, get some new suspension, sort out the dents wrap it then track it, of course you might need bucket seats. . 🎉
I know the feeling all too well, Adam. I've been quoted £3-5k to repair the rust on my old Merc, which as you mention, made me cry to sleep! At the end of the day through, we do this stuff because we love our cars - not because we're financially responsible all the time. You won't regret taking out your refurbished cars once next summer rolls around.
Another great vid Adam it’s nice to see the variety of cars you love and own and to be honest that ain’t a bad price to those cars back to how they should be but if you leave the twingo out it will work out cheaper
First thing I thought for the viper wheel & tyre situation was why not go after market. Keep the OEM wheels for shows etc. cool video as per Adam, love the content 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You're really good at this talkie stuff! It's also good that there's video of you doing the burnouts in the Viper, it means you never have to do them again to preserve your new rear tyres for as long as possible! I'm always amused by the 350Z in that the wheels that came with the Chaser suit the Nissan SO WELL, and yours makes a nice noise: Much nicer than other 350's I've heard.
Brilliant vid and interesting. For those cars, thats not a bad bill... I mean a big chunk is in the mg. As nice as it is, i consider repairing it then selling it. Get rid of the twingo too. Then you can focus on whats left. Great vid tho. Adam. Look fwd to more updates..
Another great video Adam I am late again Good job Adam has got those flip-flops Which I absolutely love by the way he could use them to find a pot of gold For the repair bill 😂
The Twingo looks like one of those projects that justs sucks up money like there's no tomorrow, and still worth very little after all that. It'd be cheaper to buy a good 'un in France I reckon (there are loads), and simply switch over the UK headlamps from the project car when a "new" one gets to the UK (maybe keep it as a spares donor if you have space). It'd make a cool road trip. The MGB I'd be tempted to pull the head off and have a look at the gasket, I'd be surprised if overheating it would knock the bottom end (or a big end) out, but I suppose anything's possible. More likely you hydraulic locked if there was some coolant in the system when/if the gasket went pop. You may get away with a head skim and new gaskets.
The MBB engine is very probably repairable by yourself for under £1k. Head off and skim. Crank regrind and shells. New oil pump. Put it back together and refit. Do these as a minimum and tackle anything else you may find. It’s a simple engine.
The twingo can't die, no matter what it costs, make it the fastest twingo in the UK, or the lowest, or the tallest, whatever happens no money is too much money for the twingo
Personally, get rid of the Nissan, Twingo, MG and either use that dough to repair the others, and/or get a more useable daily like an RS3 (other options are available). Personally i have bought 3 mint low mileage early MX5's that are in my storage in their air pockets, as they are gonna shoot up in value over the next few years. (Johnny Smith is going to do a video on them)
I enjoyed this video Adam. I had a similar issue with having to press the brake twice to get pressure, turned out to be a drive shaft, rather than brake servo. Looking forward to the next one 👍
Great seeing ya little collection on cars grow Adam. Few things id say was megga expensive for ya repairs. Your tyres. Did u check demon tweeks. They sorted out the 2 rear tyres on my project z. As none of my suppliers could get them.
Twingo mk 1 is a classic design, a mini espace, keep it for parts and get a good one, values are going up, they now are a bit of a cult here in the uk. My daily is a 2007, very late production, I ordered it new in December 2006 from Renault in Paris, collected it as a personal import in April 2007. Top spec, leather, massive electric glass sunroof, alloys etc etc, now on 180,000 miles, love it. Cobra kit cars, pah, they have Hillman imp rear lights .😁🤣🤣🤣
Feel.good about yourself Adam C3p0, when I was about 9 in the late 80s I had 2 model cars and the first one I got was a red AC Cobra, I don't own one (though I do have a country house with a sub tropical garden and custom motorcycles 😬
Sell the Twingo on for parts. That was a prop for "content". Its served it's purpose and is dead wood. Get Mat Armstrong or Chris Slix or Jack McNeil to fit the roof on the 350Z as a colab video. AC Cobra that's just jacking it up and putting a bolt in. I'm sure you can manage that lol. Viper not too bad for battery. Tyres are a pain. Probably more cost effective to get after market wheels with a conmon tyre size. The MG. Thats the one thats going to cost. Engines gotta come out either way if its a replacement or rebuild. But youre going to have to repaint the engine bay whilst its out as that paints contaminated and will need taking right back. Feel your pain with the fibteglass on the Chaser. I lowrered my 300zx and crashed into my drive way. Ive now learnt I can only enter the drive from one direction now. I also cracked the front lip on the brake rollers getting it MOTd.
Try a warranty claim against manufacturer for the Viper battery. Why not change the wheels to a set with a more common tyre size? You can just store the original wheels in your garage in the mean time.
Banger race twingo, maintain n sort rust on 350 forget the roof.. mgb engine swap it goodwood racer theme.. The cobra viper and chaser just do as you please n get them to standered ...👌
I get some of these parts are gonna get costly and some cars you want to get done more but surly your not paying £250 for tyres when tyrestreets uk exists.. I almost guarantee you'll get a full set from them for what your being quoted. I'd be surprised that they wouldn't have a tyre big enough to fit the viper truthfully The twingo.. isit worth even getting road worthy.. unless you directly want it to be alot of welding work and under body work. I'd scrap it and cut the loss.. save yourself almost £1400 (after all costs added up and divided how you did). Makes more sense to cut it up and sell the parts
Batteries plus has front facing terminal batteries don’t know if they ship over seas but I’m sure if you asked they would. Edit: batteries plus in the US
I’d sell the twingo as parts. To fund a little bit of each car possibly the MG then sell the MG use that money to sort the chaser. Then when it’s m.o.t time for the 350. See what it needs and sell that on. Calvin from CCD is out buying off RUclipsrs. Could give him a shout. Then it’s some fresh content for your personal cars. My solution would be as follows .... Sell the MG, Viper and Twingo. Spend the takings on full repair of the others and if any left then put some cash into the pot and buy a new project.
Wait, are there 2 batterys in the viper? I see you jump it from under the hood on something that looks like a battery, but you said you had to remove the rear tire to fit the new one? Also you have cheap battery prices! 100 pounds for a viper battery! The cheapest batterys you can find in the US are about $120, most are around $160 now, and around $250 for an AGM battery.
On the MG it doesn't look like it's too involved to do a head gasket on the MG. If the noise in the bottom end doesn't sound too bad I'd consider taking the risk of putting a head gasket in it and taking the risk.... Maybe fill it with coolant and take it on a test drive and see if it gets worse. I put a cylinder head on my Honda that I didn't know was warped, I drove it with a leaking head gasket back and forth from work for 350 miles until I could put the stock head back on the following weekend. I just had to carry coolant with me and top it off before every trip. I've purchased a few cars with blown head gaskets and drove them home the same way.
Honestly really like this style of video, makes me feel better about my financial car mistakes.
