- Welcome back friends! Today we are arranging trees and flowers, my favorite combo! I hope to get these three new tress soon but first I will test their new homes before we drop them in the ground, this is a trick I always use before planting trees. I thought it would be fun to arrange dahlias together too! 💞

Thanks Denise! 🤗 I think so too. I told them we would water it and take care of it and they were completely on board. Honestly I feel blessed we have such sweet neighbors, it really makes a world of difference. 🥰

Aww thanks Sheryl! I agree, I never plant a tree without sitting with it for a couple of days before actually planting. I also have the vision in my mind, but actually having it in place to me makes such a big difference. 💗

I like the placement of the trees. Wonder if you could plant some azaleas in front garden tree near porch. Flowers very beautiful. Ypu could make dozens of arrangements with all those blooms! Give some to your local nursing home!
Thanks Rebecca, that's a great idea! I have a couple of Azaleas I need to get planted, maybe somewhere in the front would be a nice addition. Also I do give away bouquets to nursing homes, which is something I love to do and will always do, especially because my family have several businesses in that industry. I feel like because of that I grew up with so many grandparents over the years, it holds a special place in my heart. 🥰

This is just stunning! I know you are a very busy girl, but if you have time could you mention the names of the dahlias that you used. I have been following you for years and I think it was last year you did a fabulous arrangement on or in a pumpkin. 🎃 Would think about doing another one. You are amazing and so talented!❤😊🥰
Aww thank you Cheri!! 💗 I think another pumpkin arrangement is a fantastic idea! So the dahlias I used were Clearview Peachy, Raenn’s Peach, KA Cinder Rose, Labyrinth, Linda’s Baby, and Valley Rust Bucket. 🥰

I thought Venus dogwood (Cornus) were understory trees so they might be more exposed to frost out front, it would be sad to lose the flowers to frost
Aww thanks!! Ohh really? I haven’t read that, but the others on the other side of our driveway are bringing. They were little babies when we planted them but they seem to be doing really well for us. 🥰

Beautiful arrangement! Gorgeous flowers! What’s the distance you are looking for at the minimum with reference to your house when you plant trees, considering the roots of the trees could go closer to your house’s foundation? I know nothing, I’m just curious what’s the principle you are guided by. Thanks for sharing, Claudia
Sofia that is such an EXCELLENT question! I also do my research about root habit when planting close to our home, I think I may have mentioned that in a previous video. Some of the larger trees like an oak I would plant 50 feet away form a house, with smaller varieties 10 feet. A lot of the ones our home is around 3-4 feet but they don't have extensive roots that we are worried about damaging our foundation. I recommend reading about root systems which can be very insightful and help you determine if it can be planted closely to you home. In general the big trees I would go further away from the home. 🥰
