Someone recently made the comment that Harry began senior royal work in the 2016-17 time frame. By Jan 2020 he was done. I just always thought he had done that job for years. Neither of these 2 is senior royal material. Even if he actually wanted to be, he just doesn't have the work ethic, character, empathy, patience, intelligence, maturity level, diligence, trustwortiness, or discernment, needed to do that job.
Sounds about right. He was in the army, and so doing very few royal engagements, for something like 10 years after he left school. When he left the army, he didn't do much on his own, he was more often the third wheel on William & Catherine's engagements. So that would bring the timeframe to around 2016.
William and Catherine only started full time royal duties in July 2017, as prior to that, they lived in Anglesey and William worked as a search and rescue pilot and also an air ambulance pilot. They would attend the big state events though, but the emphasis was on living and working in the community for several years. The same was expected of H&M, but they declined. Harry was mainly at a loose end after he left the military and joined William and Catherine with their projects and some engagements. Invictus was created for Harry so he'd have his own project.

I think what people just don't realise is that they don't have the depth or intelligence to carry out senior RF duties even with the help of the firm's PR team.
The Palace teams are geared to royal work, which has multiple roles of government, diplomatic and patronage/philanthropy, including community projects, all of which are long term and ongoing, centered on others. The PR firms that work for celebrities have a totally different operation and work to keep the spotlight on the client, switching from one idea to another and certainly isn't about long term philanthropy or anything of depth or importance to society. That's why H&M are failing.

Probably their worst year, yes. I have noticed that during their post royal years, each year they seem to deteriorate in every way possible. Physically, mentally, business endeavors, everything.
Harry needs to stay at a hotel. Room service, alcohol, weed, God knows what else... He probably feels he would be too restricted on palace grounds. His choice not to stay.
Not to mention that the Netflix cameras would NOT be allowed on palace grounds (and he'd likely be searched for recording devices), so H had to lie about his father refusing to make time to see him as H's excuse for not accepting the accommodations. But that, of course, meant that Netflix had nothing to film, either, which likely added to H and MM's frustrations. I don't really feel sorry for H and MM, everything that's happened to them is a direct result of how they've behaved and the lies they've told.
I think things are going to get worse as the self-awareness is lacking. Eventually Harry will go private and MM will keep attempting to remain relevant.

Princess Catherine is always presented as elegant, beautiful, intelligent, compassionate etc, but I believe it is the sight of William and Catherine's outings with their children that delights people. Someone recently made the comment that Harry began senior royal work in the 2016-17 time frame. By Jan 2020 he was done. I just always thought he had done that job for years.
Neither of these 2 is senior royal material. Even if he actually wanted to be, he just doesn't have the work ethic, character, empathy, patience, intelligence, maturity level, diligence, trustwortiness, or discernment, needed to do that job.
Sounds about right. He was in the army, and so doing very few royal engagements, for something like 10 years after he left school. When he left the army, he didn't do much on his own, he was more often the third wheel on William & Catherine's engagements. So that would bring the timeframe to around 2016.
William and Catherine only started full time royal duties in July 2017, as prior to that, they lived in Anglesey and William worked as a search and rescue pilot and also an air ambulance pilot. They would attend the big state events though, but the emphasis was on living and working in the community for several years. The same was expected of H&M, but they declined. Harry was mainly at a loose end after he left the military and joined William and Catherine with their projects and some engagements. Invictus was created for Harry so he'd have his own project.

That's why H&M are failing.

I think you really nailed it when you said Meghan’s brand rollout feels like it’s being directed by a child. Everything from the name to the logo to the legal details looks like a high schooler struggling with a business class project. Yes and no, Fergie's title is "Sarah, Duchess of York", no "The" which would signify a current holder. If Andrew remarried the new wife would be "The Duchess of York".
Also, if Andrew hadn't been stripped of the HRH the new wife can use HRH, but Fergie can't.
And that is why Meghan will never divorce Harry. She will not stand for anyone else using "her" title. And the only way to do that is to stay married to Harry until he dies. She can still use the titles as his widow.

Princess Catherine is always presented as elegant, beautiful, intelligent, compassionate etc, but I believe it is the sight of William and Catherine's outings with their children that delights people. The Wales family is relatable and normal, without pretensions. M's rabbitting on about love and family is so bizarre when she allegedly has children but won't appear with them. Another joke is that Catherine's parents were party planners, and I'm sure they won't learn anything from Meghan's excesses.
I think most of all, Harry miscalculated. Meghan had never and was never going to be recognized for her talent because she lacks it. Harry's mistake was thinking we'd be as taken in as he was, but we don't care that "she'll let you do anything". That's not something that can be translated into anything but notoriety. The fact that they continue to insist that they are experts in anything whatsoever adds to the dislike, not the popularity. They are loudly unremarkable and morally bankrupt.
