I don't hate the machine, the effects are gorgeous and I wanted to love it! I have two complaints, the first is that you no longer get a green ready light on the remote, so that unless you can see the LED panel when it switches from heat to ready, you have no way of knowing that it's ready to fog. That however is a minor nit and not a deal killer. What relegates this unit to little more than a novelty item is the fog time. If you want to do any serious fog effects an 8 sec. fog time is nowhere close to being long enough. The P6 had a 20-25 sec fog time which was just long enough for some serious effects. If you need a decent fog time my recommendation is to try to find a P6 somewhere. The effects won't be quite as fancy but you'll get the fog time you need. The other option would be to go to the Pro line and get the Vesuvio II which has a 40 sec fog time but at a higher price.
What is the response time when hitting the remote and the unit firing...is it instant? Say I wanted a quick burst instantly....would I be able to do this multiple times with multiple quick bursts within a 15 sec span? Or is there a downtime in between shots?
I D-Fi wireless version would be good. Actually any good smoke machine that uses D-Fi would be great... please! (I get the feeling you have dropped D-Fi in favour of BT?)
Chani, thanks for reaching out. We do not recommend using CHAUVET DJ HFG Performance Haze Fluid in any other fixtures besides Hazers. The recommended fluid for the CHAUVET DJ Geyser P7 is Quick Dissipating Fluid (www.chauvetdj.com/products/geyser-p7/), you can find more information about this by clicking here: www.chauvetdj.com/products/quick-dissipating-fluid/
There is the possibility of that. Depends how far away the smoke alarm is and what fluid you choose to use. We recommend QDF. www.chauvetdj.com/products/quick-dissipating-fluid/ Any smoke/haze/fog fluid will set off smoke alarms if enough of the particles get inside.

How long does the burst last...and can it just run continuously until the fog tank is empty?

Would this machine set off smoke alarms if it was for a performance if it was used consecutively for approximately 20 seconds?
