I am very moved by Louie's character. The way he loves his surroundings, his culture, and his people. He has survived so much anguish and injustice. But despite that he lives a meaningful life. His personality is unique and very inspiring. I hope he is doing well

My bf is Iranian. He had to seek asylum in Ireland as he was outed at work (he was a teacher). When I met him he was working in a pizza place with some crazy Colombians. Crazy but nice...lol He now speaks really good English and is trying to teach me Farsi...but it's impossible 😅 This documentary is really very good...but it makes me sad to think what people in the middle east have to go through. ❤❤❤

As a trans woman that escaped Kazakhstan, which is far from Sharia Law but still Islamic. This brought me so much tears, terror, anxiety and traumatic memories of how my life would have turned out if I did not leave to the U.S. This is why it is so important to people from the West to watch these type of documentries whether you are straight or LGBT to see how people struggle and how ACTUALLY good they have it in their countries. People in the West and especially LBGT need to understand that they are NOT really oppressed. I understand, we still face some prejudice and discrimation in the West but not to this level. When Louie said that his father was ready to cut his throat, it triggered me so much. I remember me being 6, getting beaten and chased down by my father who beat me up with his belt for SIMPLY painting my nails and putting on my sister's dress to play. I was a KID that was just playing. If only I had any idea what actually was going ON. People treat LGBT as mentally ill or distrubed or even cursed. Ever since then, I was not as brave as Louie to be open or even date bc I was sooo scared my father would find out. So I had to supress my desires and hide to be able to plan my escape. Thankfully, I was a pro tennis player and had the privilege to travel to Israel and West Europe to play tennis tournaments. I remember my coach (Slovakian) telling me that I was different but I was confused on what. He just wanted me to see the world and that I have a chance to be a NORMAL human being here. To this day, I am so grateful to him that he opened my eyes. With that being sad, I am happy where I am at. I am a professional with a career, graduated college and living my FREELY. I do miss my family and my culture TO THIS DAY, but there is nothing I can do. It is hurtful that I am disowned and misunderstood for simple being DIFFERENT. Life moves on and I can make the best out of what IS given.

I have a Palestinian friend who’s brother was murdered for being gay- this poor guy was expected to share the delight of ridding his family of this ‘sin’ and because he loved and supported his brother he himself had to flee to refuge in Israel. Louie's story touched me deeply. His need to reconcile his past. His love for his culture, his people, and his country. His desire to just be free where he is and not have to relocate to live the life we should all be able to. Such a courageous person. I LOVE hearing that from someone OTHER THAN AMERICA! Like, there ARE other tolerant (and some MORE tolerant) of the acceptance of gays, than in America. Other Countries, only many more need to catch up.
The Philippines still needs to work on the SOGIE bill, though. Queer people in the Philippines are at least enjoying a relatively higher social acceptance rate, but some can’t apply for a job because of their sexuality. Same goes for public opinion on marriage equality, but a number of Philippine politicians support same-sex civil unions. It’s honestly a bumpy ride for queer Filipinos.

Wow... this was an eye opener for me To see young men at such early stages of their lives having dealt with such grand issues and dangers. Yet they are genuine and caring and sensitive to each other. Hard for me to think that they could lose their life for being gay! Its good to know that they have escaped to freedom and have some peace of mind after facing ordeals. It saddens to me to see such struggles of the MEN who never thought bad or had any intentions of harm to anyone not any community or religion but just LOVE & to be themselves. Louie, Faris, Abdu- you people are too brave to live a life of struggle and misery in the quest of freedom, to live yourselves. May you all be safe and pray you all return home someday, with your head held high and not in guilt or shame.
I would’ve kept watching if they would’ve filmed a reality tv series.. It shows how far people will go to be their authentic selves-something most people don’t even realize they take for granted. I wish the best to each of them..

I'm only 5 minutes into this documentary & I'm so thankful that I have a loving family that wouldn't trade or hurt me for anything in the world. As an American I tend forget others aren't as free as I am & others come from families who disown them. Seeing stuff like this makes me so grateful & makes my heart ache for the ones who have it 10 times harder

Her mother convised her to come home she is already forgiven. However, when she alight from a bus her father hold her to her hair and drag her to their house and she was beaten by her family together with her brother's fortunately, one of her brother intervene and said don't kill her here. They leave, and she said to herself that she don't wanted to die and pray. She saw a bird fly to the kitchen and she remembered there's a window and she went there crawling until she reach the highway again lucky for her the taxi driver stop an American and he asked if she needed help. That's the story she was able to save herself to be killed and went to shelter, by the way at her young age she was raped by her father and his friends or uncle. And never looked back and not thinking of coming back forever.

It's really scary being LGBT in Islamic countries, people have no idea and it frustrates me how they don't even talk about it, not just that but they support Hamas (the reason behind Sharia Law in Palestine). I have straight men friends who wouldn't go to "Brokeback Mountain," because they weren't interested in watching "gay relationships." Great documentary, thanks for having the courage to make it, and sharing it. Those 3 guys had the balls to show themselves, and by doing so have done more for gay rights than most of us. @@politicalblink Good question! Based on my experience and what I observed we're no longer that homophobic. Most Filipinos are now open and accepting. TBH, most millenials and Gen Z's no longer care when they know that someone is LGBT (My observation as their teacher) unlike before. Furthermore, we have a lot of LGBT theme/stories that are already integrated in different media. However, there's very little portion that still 'reluctant' which comprises mostly of "Boomers" generation.

Israel should let in as many Gay Palestinians as possible. I heard there were already thousands of gay Palestinians from the territories living in Tel Aviv. It’s obviously easy to sneak back in to Israel, but they also need to stop sending these people back. As a gay Jew who visited Tel Aviv, I thought it was a magical place. It’s like a weird kind of west meets east. I don’t like conflict, but I’d rather live in a place where I can at least legally live together with my partner.
Its just sad that they can't give someone like Loui citizenship so he can remain around his culture and birthplace. But I understand why they can't. If they did make exceptions like this, it would ultimately be used against them by the fundamentalists, they'd all be pretending to be persecuted and need ISraeli citizenship. It's just a shame.

I cried for Louie and other gays who experienced mental, physical and emotional torture. I keep crying till the end of the of the documentary. All of us deserved to live, to love and to be loved. Keep on fighting. The pain will never fade. Learn to live everyday no matter how painful it is.

A beautiful story of three human beings who were not accepted by family or culture, but did not lose their faith in moving forward in every setback, getting up, I am satisfied to see Abdul so happy even in the conditions they live in, it never ceases to surprise me, always trying to shake hands with someone who wanted to get out of that hell like him, I hope they manage to maintain their friendship and prosper so they can continue helping others like them in those countries

Raped at 8 years old by a much older guy who eventually married a woman. This is very common in these cultures where no one is allowed to talk about it - you are expected to move on, get married and make no mention of it. Israel should make exceptions for people like these guys.
I cried. I can't believe how hard they have it out there in their homeland just because of who they love. I'm sad that they're forced to leave their lives behind and start a new one in a completely different environment, but I'm also happy that in their new home they can be free. This documentary truly opened my eyes on how privileged I am and how queer people have it so hard in these very religious countries. I wish these three wonderful men all the best on their new journey and to never stop believing in themselves and in the bravery they have. Peace.
It's also hard for people who aren't religious at all as religion permeates the culture everywhere. I'm not an athetist, but not believing in the faith is considered bad enough. A lot of the US was not so different some decades ago, but it has changed. Hopefully, it'll change everywhere.

This is a powerful film that provides awareness and educate on the lives of LGBTQ+ ⚧️ 🏳️⚧️ 🏳️🌈 and how these men chose to give us a window into their journey to be free. This film deserves more views in Western cultures bc we see esp in the political arena, the slow promotion of crime against the LGBTQ+ community and awareness is key to comprehend when we resist and push forward against antiquated rules. Everyone deserves to be happy and to prosper and to be loved.
The saddest part of Louie's story is that despite not being legally permitted to live in Yisrael, his total and complete love for the country shines through in spades. He is as Israeli as any of the 9.5 million Jews, Arab-Israelis & Christians that call Ha'aretz home ❤️ . In his and his friends' cases being gay they are not welcome in the Occupied Territories, whilst being Palestinian they are not welcome in Israel; an impossible conundrum.

I used to have a very dear friend when i was still working in the middle east. we used to spend almost every night and spent so many wonderful intimate moments together in my villa. i know that he is so sad and scared because of their culture. i just hope and pray that they will be okay. thanks for this documentary so that people will understand their situations that they are into. take care always.
I dated 2 Palestinian men in the UAE. One was shot in the knee by Israeli border guards. The other got a job in the UAE to escape detection by his family. His cousin, a very feminine young man, went to the US on a scholarship but died after being given the date rape drug. I feel for these young men.

As an American, I had no idea the Arab culture could be so devastatingly cruel to their own sons and daughters. This documentary was an absolute eye opener for me! I am glad these three men made it out alive. You can't look back and try to move forward with your life. It just doesn't work that way. I hope they each make a new life and, simply, move on to a better way of life. New country. New friends. New discoveries.

Excellent documentary! Very moving and compelling stories. Louie's was particularly heart wrenching. I wish them all the best in life and hope one day there will be much more worldwide acceptance of LGBT people.
They do it since 2022. But it’s a long process to prove that you are gay and you are under threat. Israel tries to avoid to accept terrorist disguised as refugees or asylum seekers. And I hate it. Because, other people that don’t deserve the refugee status got it more easily than real people in danger.
I couldn't stop watching. His life is so heartbreaking. I wish to give them a hug and say "We're with you!" I hope all of them and so many others can restart their lives in a safe place. No one deserves to be judged, be killed or be in jail for it.

Man, Louie's story was heart-wrenching. Also, when Abdu said that all the problems would be solved if gays ran the Israeli and Palestinian government, I felt that on a spiritual level. I'd support it!

Very inspiring to see the courage, struggles and doubts of these men with so many dangers and challenges surrounding them. It is nice that the documentary ends with a more positive note. Louie will always feel a sensation of loss and estrangement but he appeared as more smiling and relaxed.
I feel Louie's pain of being who he is amongst his people, his culture and all that he knows. Even if his life is better in Europe in terms of safety and living standards, he prefers to be amongst his own people, even if they don't fully accept him. Abdu's personality, presence and energy in spite of everything that he has been through, is just magical. I wish them all the happiness going forward.
Being a lesbian I feel bad for them cuz in america there is discrimination against gays, lesbians, transgenders- I got beat up sometimes when I was elementary to highschool once by 30 people but in Palestine its worse discrimination I pray for all GTBL safety all over the world & for discrimination to reduce more ESP. As a 19 year old Norwegian man in 2004 I traveled to Morocco. Wanted to experience arab culture and have fun with my family. I knew that homosexuality was illegal, but from the time I landed in that country I was sexually harassed all the time, as soon as I was away from my family. In the airport, a security guard tried to lure me in to a bathroom, he rubbed his genitals right in front of me. In stores( a helper came and said that he wanted to take me home after work for fun, and he stroked my hand and made kissing gestures), at the street harassed all the time, in agadir I tried to run on the beach, men all around making it very well known that they wanted sex from me…….I have heard that Egypt is the same……..it was actually terrifying and I was so glad when we left. Never experienced something like that other places in the world. I can’t imagine how it is to be a woman in those countries…very double moral if you ask me….people should be able to be themselves legally..lot of sexual frustration there.

This story pulled on the heart strings, at the end of the day no matter who you are, no matter what your beliefs if you are a peaceful loving person you have the right to live that one life as you should no matter what prejudices others may have against you. I hope he gets to go back to where he truly belongs one day and that is his rightful place in this world.

It's not just Israel and Palestine who have such prehistoric values, it's most of the African continent, the Arab states, up to Russia, China & plenty inbetween. I hope I live to see the day when it won't be an issue for anyone on the planet to just live and let live. Meanwhile my thoughts come from the UK, to anyone facing this type of situation, to not be afraid to apply for asylum. There is a huge gay community in the free world waiting for you and will accept you for who you are. You will soon make friends, as long as you sincerely want to integrate into a new society. @@rsmith7912 I agree wholeheartedly with your caring sentiments, I just wish the asylum process would accommodate more people facing serious discrimination, sadly many are not able to leave their situations, for a whole variety of reasons, and even out of those that do manage to leave there is then often difficult, long, complex asylum applications, many people are dismissed as economic migrants because they may lack evidence that they will face persecution if deported to country of origin, here in the UK applicants can wait for many years before being given citizenship, in fact many asylum seekers, a majority perhaps, have their claims at first denied, and have to go through the laborious process of the court overturning the earlier verdict, in the appeals process, during this time they cannot legally work, and may struggle to integrate until full citizenship is awarded, if indeed it ever is, on too many cases it's just impossible to know if a man is genuinely seeking asylum, or exaggerating claims, there are lots of people and organisations that do try to support seekers, through such a difficult cultural transition, and possibly to help them find councelling for P.T.S.D. Here in the UK very few asylum seekers will ever make it, because we're an island nation and border security has been beefed up over the decades, no one arrives in the back of lorries, or hops over the channel hidden in a speed boat, so most asylum seekers tend to settle on the mainland, with a whole variety of experiences of course. There should be more recognition of the serious hardships many LGBTQ people face, and more compassion in welcoming those who wish to integrate, and work in society, because with the right support many people don't have to be burdons on the state, or pity cases, reduced to just being only a victim, many, when given the right support, flourish, and engage with society in many mutually beneficial way. The question is, however, how do we prevent every tom, dick and Harry turning up, and all claiming they are escaping physical and psychological abuse, if we were simply accepting of all claims, with no investigations, then surely the floodgates would open, it would be a green light for anyone wanting to travel anywhere just to claim they also are running from violence, clearly there has to be some rigorous investigations into the claims, one only hopes the process is firm, but also fair, and sensitive to the seekers, physical and mental abilities, and that investigators, and courts have sufficient funds to carry out fair investigation s.
My heart goes out to you 3 and all the lgbt community all over the world suffering this oppression from their families and countries. Your strength and will to survive is so admirable and I hope that your thriving and living a happy life full of love. I cried the entire time watching this because I can totally relate to this situation. I hope that as time goes by, our world becomes more accepting of each other regardless of our sexual identity.

This documentary was beautifully created. Bravo to the gentlemen that had the bravery and courage to so elegantly share their stories with us. Though my heart broke a bit more and more as I watched, especially through Louie's story, it is important that awareness is brought about the treatment of the LGBT community in this region. Louie's story touched me tremendously as you can see the pain in his eyes throughout the documentary when he speaks about his story and his desire to not ever leave his homeland of Palestine. It is similar to that of a double edged sword - leaving for your ability to live in safety vs a forced departure by the occupying forces. I pray that wherever Louis, Abdu and Fares are that they are living peacefully. Sending so much love.
The "occupying forces" you are talking about, ISRAEL, has done more for them than what their own families and government SHOULD be doing for them. He should be able to live his life freely in his own home, but his father made it clear he rather have a dead son than a gay son.

What a beautiful man. Leaving everything you know and love behind to start over somewhere completely unknown must be extremely difficult. But arguably, living a life constantly in fear of it being taken away is not really a life worth living. I hope he gives the new place a decent try. That he's adapting to his environment and slowly learning to be happy again. Nothing could ever replace your roots, but HOME is where your soul is most at peace. Man what an awesome film. It really touched home for me. I'm an American living in Europe for many years, and I help so many young men with issues like these. Most of them are undocumented in Europe, and just want to live their life. I have a friend who's a lawyer who helps with their documents, I have a business so I employ them. I am very moved by Louie's character. The way he loves his surroundings, his culture, and his people. He has survived so much anguish and injustice. But despite that he lives a meaningful life. His personality is unique and very inspiring. I hope he is doing well

As a trans woman that escaped Kazakhstan, which is far from Sharia Law but still Islamic. This brought me so much tears, terror, anxiety and traumatic memories of how my life would have turned out if I did not leave to the U.S. This is why it is so important to people from the West to watch these type of documentries whether you are straight or LGBT to see how people struggle and how ACTUALLY good they have it in their countries. People in the West and especially LBGT need to understand that they are NOT really oppressed. I understand, we still face some prejudice and discrimation in the West but not to this level.
When Louie said that his father was ready to cut his throat, it triggered me so much. I remember me being 6, getting beaten and chased down by my father who beat me up with his belt for SIMPLY painting my nails and putting on my sister's dress to play. I was a KID that was just playing. If only I had any idea what actually was going ON. People treat LGBT as mentally ill or distrubed or even cursed. Ever since then, I was not as brave as Louie to be open or even date bc I was sooo scared my father would find out. So I had to supress my desires and hide to be able to plan my escape.
Thankfully, I was a pro tennis player and had the privilege to travel to Israel and West Europe to play tennis tournaments. I remember my coach (Slovakian) telling me that I was different but I was confused on what. He just wanted me to see the world and that I have a chance to be a NORMAL human being here. To this day, I am so grateful to him that he opened my eyes.
With that being sad, I am happy where I am at. I am a professional with a career, graduated college and living my FREELY. I do miss my family and my culture TO THIS DAY, but there is nothing I can do. It is hurtful that I am disowned and misunderstood for simple being DIFFERENT. Life moves on and I can make the best out of what IS given.

Her mother convised her to come home she is already forgiven. They leave, and she said to herself that she don't wanted to die and pray. She saw a bird fly to the kitchen and she remembered there's a window and she went there crawling until she reach the highway again lucky for her the taxi driver stop an American and he asked if she needed help. That's the story she was able to save herself to be killed and went to shelter, by the way at her young age she was raped by her father and his friends or uncle. And never looked back and not thinking of coming back forever.

I have straight men friends who wouldn't go to "Brokeback Mountain," because they weren't interested in watching "gay relationships." These are men who truly love quality film, and even after they heard Brokeback was an objectively beautiful movie, with writing, cinematography and acting that deserved all its awards. @@politicalblink Good question! Based on my experience and what I observed we're no longer that homophobic. Most Filipinos are now open and accepting. TBH, most millenials and Gen Z's no longer care when they know that someone is LGBT (My observation as their teacher) unlike before. Furthermore, we have a lot of LGBT theme/stories that are already integrated in different media. However, there's very little portion that still 'reluctant' which comprises mostly of "Boomers" generation.

Israel should let in as many Gay Palestinians as possible. I heard there were already thousands of gay Palestinians from the territories living in Tel Aviv. It’s obviously easy to sneak back in to Israel, but they also need to stop sending these people back. As a gay Jew who visited Tel Aviv, I thought it was a magical place. It’s like a weird kind of west meets east. I don’t like conflict, but I’d rather live in a place where I can at least legally live together with my partner.

I cried for Louie and other gays who experienced mental, physical and emotional torture. I keep crying till the end of the of the documentary. All of us deserved to live, to love and to be loved. Keep on fighting. The pain will never fade. Learn to live everyday no matter how painful it is.

A beautiful story of three human beings who were not accepted by family or culture, but did not lose their faith in moving forward in every setback, getting up, I am satisfied to see Abdul so happy even in the conditions they live in, it never ceases to surprise me, always trying to shake hands with someone who wanted to get out of that hell like him, I hope they manage to maintain their friendship and prosper so they can continue helping others like them in those countries

Raped at 8 years old by a much older guy who eventually married a woman. This is very common in these cultures where no one is allowed to talk about it - you are expected to move on, get married and make no mention of it. Israel should make exceptions for people like these guys.
It is so interesting that about a week ago someone was telling me that Israel makes no provisions for this and then l came across this documentary.
I cried. I can't believe how hard they have it out there in their homeland just because of who they love. I'm sad that they're forced to leave their lives behind and start a new one in a completely different environment, but I'm also happy that in their new home they can be free.
This documentary truly opened my eyes on how privileged I am and how queer people have it so hard in these very religious countries.

It's also hard for people who aren't religious at all as religion permeates the culture everywhere. I'm not an athetist, but not believing in the faith is considered bad enough. A lot of the US was not so different some decades ago, but it has changed. Hopefully, it'll change everywhere.

This is a powerful film that provides awareness and educate on the lives of LGBTQ+ ⚧️ 🏳️⚧️ 🏳️🌈 and how these men chose to give us a window into their journey to be free. This film deserves more views in Western cultures bc we see esp in the political arena, the slow promotion of crime against the LGBTQ+ community and awareness is key to comprehend when we resist and push forward against antiquated rules. Everyone deserves to be happy and to prosper and to be loved.
The saddest part of Louie's story is that despite not being legally permitted to live in Yisrael, his total and complete love for the country shines through in spades. He is as Israeli as any of the 9.5 million Jews, Arab-Israelis & Christians that call Ha'aretz home ❤️ .
In his and his friends' cases being gay they are not welcome in the Occupied Territories, whilst being Palestinian they are not welcome in Israel; an impossible conundrum.

I used to have a very dear friend when i was still working in the middle east. we used to spend almost every night and spent so many wonderful intimate moments together in my villa. i know that he is so sad and scared because of their culture. i just hope and pray that they will be okay. thanks for this documentary so that people will understand their situations that they are into. take care always.
I dated 2 Palestinian men in the UAE. One was shot in the knee by Israeli border guards. The other got a job in the UAE to escape detection by his family. His cousin, a very feminine young man, went to the US on a scholarship but died after being given the date rape drug. I feel for these young men.

I am glad these three men made it out alive. You can't look back and try to move forward with your life. It just doesn't work that way. Israel should offer asylum for Palestinian gay people and this would help the civilized world respect Israel.
They do it since 2022. But it’s a long process to prove that you are gay and you are under threat. Israel tries to avoid to accept terrorist disguised as refugees or asylum seekers. And I hate it. Because, other people that don’t deserve the refugee status got it more easily than real people in danger.

Very inspiring to see the courage, struggles and doubts of these men with so many dangers and challenges surrounding them. It is nice that the documentary ends with a more positive note. Louie will always feel a sensation of loss and estrangement but he appeared as more smiling and relaxed.

I feel Louie's pain of being who he is amongst his people, his culture and all that he knows. Even if his life is better in Europe in terms of safety and living standards, he prefers to be amongst his own people, even if they don't fully accept him. Abdu's personality, presence and energy in spite of everything that he has been through, is just magical. I wish them all the happiness going forward.

As a 19 year old Norwegian man in 2004 I traveled to Morocco. Wanted to experience arab culture and have fun with my family. I knew that homosexuality was illegal, but from the time I landed in that country I was sexually harassed all the time, as soon as I was away from my family. In the airport, a security guard tried to lure me in to a bathroom, he rubbed his genitals right in front of me. In stores( a helper came and said that he wanted to take me home after work for fun, and he stroked my hand and made kissing gestures), at the street harassed all the time, in agadir I tried to run on the beach, men all around making it very well known that they wanted sex from me…….I have heard that Egypt is the same……..it was actually terrifying and I was so glad when we left. Never experienced something like that other places in the world. I can’t imagine how it is to be a woman in those countries…very double moral if you ask me….people should be able to be themselves legally..lot of sexual frustration there.
Maybe it is like this because it is so repressed. I have heard similar experiences to yours from friends who have travelled in Egypt

This story pulled on the heart strings, at the end of the day no matter who you are, no matter what your beliefs if you are a peaceful loving person you have the right to live that one life as you should no matter what prejudices others may have against you. I hope he gets to go back to where he truly belongs one day and that is his rightful place in this world.

It's not just Israel and Palestine who have such prehistoric values, it's most of the African continent, the Arab states, up to Russia, China & plenty inbetween. I hope I live to see the day when it won't be an issue for anyone on the planet to just live and let live. Meanwhile my thoughts come from the UK, to anyone facing this type of situation, to not be afraid to apply for asylum. There is a huge gay community in the free world waiting for you and will accept you for who you are. You will soon make friends, as long as you sincerely want to integrate into a new society. You'll soon realise that the friends you then choose will become your new loving family. There's much fun to be had, but give yourself time to acclimatise and hopefully the future will be a bettter one from where you came from. Many thanks to everyone involved in the making of this eye opening documentary.
Israel is one the most gay friendly places in the planet. If Palestinians have a difficult time, is because of their backwards culture. Gay Jews have no issues.
@@rsmith7912 I agree wholeheartedly with your caring sentiments, I just wish the asylum process would accommodate more people facing serious discrimination, sadly many are not able to leave their situations, for a whole variety of reasons, and even out of those that do manage to leave there is then often difficult, long, complex asylum applications, many people are dismissed as economic migrants because they may lack evidence that they will face persecution if deported to country of origin, here in the UK applicants can wait for many years before being given citizenship, in fact many asylum seekers, a majority perhaps, have their claims at first denied, and have to go through the laborious process of the court overturning the earlier verdict, in the appeals process, during this time they cannot legally work, and may struggle to integrate until full citizenship is awarded, if indeed it ever is, on too many cases it's just impossible to know if a man is genuinely seeking asylum, or exaggerating claims, there are lots of people and organisations that do try to support seekers, through such a difficult cultural transition, and possibly to help them find councelling for P.T.S.D. Here in the UK very few asylum seekers will ever make it, because we're an island nation and border security has been beefed up over the decades, no one arrives in the back of lorries, or hops over the channel hidden in a speed boat, so most asylum seekers tend to settle on the mainland, with a whole variety of experiences of course.
There should be more recognition of the serious hardships many LGBTQ people face, and more compassion in welcoming those who wish to integrate, and work in society, because with the right support many people don't have to be burdons on the state, or pity cases, reduced to just being only a victim, many, when given the right support, flourish, and engage with society in many mutually beneficial way. The question is, however, how do we prevent every tom, dick and Harry turning up, and all claiming they are escaping physical and psychological abuse, if we were simply accepting of all claims, with no investigations, then surely the floodgates would open, it would be a green light for anyone wanting to travel anywhere just to claim they also are running from violence, clearly there has to be some rigorous investigations into the claims, one only hopes the process is firm, but also fair, and sensitive to the seekers, physical and mental abilities, and that investigators, and courts have sufficient funds to carry out fair investigation s.
My heart goes out to you 3 and all the lgbt community all over the world suffering this oppression from their families and countries. Your strength and will to survive is so admirable and I hope that your thriving and living a happy life full of love. I cried the entire time watching this because I can totally relate to this situation. I hope that as time goes by, our world becomes more accepting of each other regardless of our sexual identity.

This documentary was beautifully created. Bravo to the gentlemen that had the bravery and courage to so elegantly share their stories with us. Though my heart broke a bit more and more as I watched, especially through Louie's story, it is important that awareness is brought about the treatment of the LGBT community in this region. Louie's story touched me tremendously as you can see the pain in his eyes throughout the documentary when he speaks about his story and his desire to not ever leave his homeland of Palestine. It is similar to that of a double edged sword - leaving for your ability to live in safety vs a forced departure by the occupying forces.
I pray that wherever Louis, Abdu and Fares are that they are living peacefully. Sending so much love.
The "occupying forces" you are talking about, ISRAEL, has done more for them than what their own families and government SHOULD be doing for them. He should be able to live his life freely in his own home, but his father made it clear he rather have a dead son than a gay son.
I can feel Louie's pain in his heart. He needed to leave his own country just to free himself from harm. One day Louie, you could able to come back to your land without danger. I am praying it'll be soon and it's safe.. Love you from Philippines..❤️

What a beautiful man. Leaving everything you know and love behind to start over somewhere completely unknown must be extremely difficult. But arguably, living a life constantly in fear of it being taken away is not really a life worth living. I hope he gives the new place a decent try. That he's adapting to his environment and slowly learning to be happy again. Nothing could ever replace your roots, but HOME is where your soul is most at peace. I also encourage anyone reading this to watch the film "Out in the Dark". Stay blessed fam.

Man what an awesome film. It really touched home for me. I'm an American living in Europe for many years, and I help so many young men with issues like these. Most of them are undocumented in Europe, and just want to live their life. I have a friend who's a lawyer who helps with their documents, I have a business so I employ them. Such a tough life. ❤️❤️❤️ I REALLY HOPE THEY ARE HAPPY.
