Write better stories by excluding time | Tips

How many times do I say "time" in this video? I don't know, but you shouldn't mention it too specifically in your story! It draws attention away from the characters and what is happening, it can ruin the immersion of your story, and it can even make it harder for you to write. Here are some tips!

I'm very glad that you're bringing up the topic of time. It's always been hard for me to navigate longer stories within a time frame and I always feel like I forget or miss something especially when I'm supposed to write about somebody's backstory. Thank you for this video!

I chronically count time in my writing notes but never put it in the actual text and often wonder if I'm wasting my OWN time lol

lolol same really. I only keep meticulous track of time now if the scene or story at large require it. Otherwise I'm more like "yeah a month sounds good, let's go with that".
