I’m 70 years old but still like to drive. I bought mine new in 2004, added a supercharger, OEM splitter , side strakes, and rear spoiler. Carbon fiber heat shield and stuff I’ve forgotten😊. Left the exhaust cause I love those oval exhaust outlets. Great looking car; be careful and make sure yours doesn’t end up being one of those totals. PS: just turned 32k miles.
I think they're too expensive at this point for a first car. When I was considering them, they were still around 15k for nice ones. Plus, AP1s are known to snap oversteer, so maybe not great for new drivers

@@yandhijpeg I live in the country side just a couple miles from the Cotswolds(UK countryside) so it's just windy & twist roads. My dad daily's an Impreza WRX STI no problem. The only problem is when lorries are passing through and you have to plant yourself in a bush. **Edit - im also only driving to college 4 days a week and probably driving on the weekend with my dad so I'm not going to be putting hella miles on it**

THERE IS NO RUST, AND WE LIVE IN CANADA! its like a 2000 year and it was the best performing one, black paint, stock rims, red guts, everything is perfect... he bought at 12k, now its worth 40k+ (its also a convertible)
Finally after many years of grinding I just got a better job. I cant wait to have one, but its hard to find one in pristine condition even for around 20k.

Love my ap1 but gotta say reliability sits with the owner. Ap1s needs TCT(timing chain tentioner, valve work, springs and retainer work. Problem is people don’t change the oil and do proper maintenance on these baby’s treating them like some basic civics. Certain things like don’t use regular fuel, warm it up before romping on it, keep your hand off the shifter unless your shifting gears, if you have a soft top because an OEM top cost at least 8 grand then there is a whole laundry list in maintaining that soft top. Love your S and it will retain value and love you back. 🤙🏽

Here in Europe, the S2000 is quite expensive. No way you're getting this as your first car unless your parents make like 300-400k Euros a year. My first car was half the average price of the S2000 here, still quite expensive for a first car (apparently, I dunno about that considering most kids I went to school with got brand new VW Golfs which are much more expensive) and double the car of an S2000... Twice the doors, twice the cylinders, twice the trunk space (probably thrice actually) and 1.something times the length of an S2000.
