    What a bizarre show which, aside from the occasional rolling of the dice, seemingly had very little to do with the actual board game. Given that this was a pilot, who wants to take a bet that the bonus game was "rigged" - in that the $100,000 was likely under all the letters (or the contestants were told which one to choose) and that the fact a yahtzee was obtained on their "second roll" almost seems like the editing was a bit terse - making me think that the "second roll" was reshot multiple times until they achieved the desired result.

    Far too little action with the dice themselves. Far too little. And a bit too easy to win the $100,000 I thought too.

    • @marcpower4167
      @marcpower4167 Год назад +1

      They changed it for the series, the dollar amounts were $5,000, $10,000 & $25,000. To win the $100,000 you had to get a yahtzee in one roll. Later they tweaked it further so that a first roll yahtzee doubled the money unless you got 5 wilds on the first roll, then it became $100,000. (Ironically that's how it was won the first time anyway)

    Watching Peter Marshall is cringeful. He referred to his dice lady with pet names like “lovely” and complimented the Puerto Rican contestant’s English. He also asked him how long has he been in the country. It’s lost on Marshall that Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, just like what Alaska and Hawaii were before they became states.

    • @drewconway7135
      @drewconway7135 Год назад +10

      Reading your comment is “cringeful” (not a word, btw). Peter didn’t ask him how long he’d been in the country. He asked him how long he’d been “here.” I have seen other hosts (Alex Trebek on “Classic Concentration,” for one) ask people how long they have been “here,” meaning how long they have been in the Los Angeles area, when he’s been talking to folks that moved from the Midwest, the East Cosst, or the South.
      Fewer than 10% of Puerto Ricans speak English today, let alone 35 years ago, and it’s obviously not his first language.
      Why don’t you stop and think before going full Karen?

    • @marcpower4167

      I get the impression Peter and Teresa had been close friends for some time, I don't think he said anything too degrading to her.
      Slight....SLIGHT cringe when he lighted poked fun at Tito's pronunciation of journalism as "yernalism" but at least he didn't drag it out.

      In 2024 calling women "lovely" is considered degrading toward women unfortunately. People blow shit out of proportion these days. Hell, last year at my little cousin's birthday party my older cousin scolded me for calling a longtime female friend beautiful and pointed out I cannot do it anymore! If you ask me the #metoo movement is a bunch of shit. Yes sexual harassment is a problem but they have taken it too damn far.
