Thank you for the video. When I was younger, my friends and I went to a Renaissance Fair. They had a snake handler who did a show. So we all sat in a circle around him and he brought a few snakes to show us. Then at the end of the show, he said that the last one he was going to show us was very dangerous and if it gets away from him don't move because it strikes at movement. He pulled out a king cobra and laid it on the grass. Well, he's talking about it and it slowly starts crawling on the grass in my direction. So I just sat still and didn't move. When it's about 3 feet away it raises up and the hood expands. The guy goes "Whoop!" And grabs it up. As he's holding it , he says to me, "I'm impressed." Then puts it back in the box. Well, I thought that was a funny stunt and I turned to say something to my friends and they had all ran away. I was sitting there by myself. 😮😅
I'm eating a pizza while watching you, because you always make me hungry, when I see your delicious meals 😅. I'm always amazed how construction from past centuries are still here, without all modern technologies, while today many buildings break down after a couple of years. This was a lovely vlog. I enjoy your videos. I'm from Upper East Tennessee, USA. I'm 73 years old retired and I intended to travel but I am raising my youngest grandson, who is 21. He is on the autistim spectrum.. I know we would enjoy the UK, and the rest of Europe with our dogs. I was a police officer in the 80's and 90's and ended as a Court Liaison in social work. I would enjoy the off grid camping. Just wanted to say hello!

Hi there, i had exactly the same caravan, on my seasonal pitch i pay 18p per unit of electricity. In the winter i could easily use £50 - £60 pounds a week when it was really cold. I do like the caravan warm tho about 20oc. This was with the alde heating set on 2kw and the water turned off. Incase you did not know if you have your heating on you can turn the hot water off as the heating automatically heats the water when heating is on. Only time you might want to turn it on is if you plan on going for a shower as it gives you longer in the shower then. Goodluck. Hope you enjoy your new caravan. I loved my swift elegance. So much i bought a second one lol.

You could get those chopping boards that fold up at the sides when you've finished chopping. This creates a kind of funnel to tip your veg into the pan without losing any to the hob or floor. All the best to you x

That's got some lovely museums, of course, an iron bridge Haha, and blists hill Victorian town which is good all year around , lovely on the run up to Christmas. We have the Shropshire hills if you like walking, the wrekin and the ercall hills, clee hill, Shrewsbury town and the Quarry in Shrewsbury eith the beautiful Dingle in the middle. Horrible things my first job was for network rail in Dover and the stupid animals would come off the cliffs and lie on the rail lines to sunbath but not be able to sense when a train was coming and get squished on the lines and our job was to scrape them off as they were dangerous to trains
On way back from France after 3 weeks, lovely roads, little traffic, no potholes, no stress driving and now the M25 to look forward to, aaaaagh. Lovely video by the way

Hi Carol and Ken 👋 I'm back, I've spent the last two days playing catch up. Been on my annual trip to Europe. Spent two weeks with friends in Poland, then headed for Austria via the Czech Republic. Arriving at a lovely campsite over looking lake Thiersee. This is where it all went horribly wrong. I found myself on the floor of the van. I managed to raise the alarm for help from the family next door. That was the last thing I remember until someone spoke to me in hospital and said I .had been a sleep for four weeks. I had a severe lung infection (sepsis) and my kidneys had shut down. I spent a total of eight weeks in the Austrian hospital before being flown back to the UK where I spent five days in Reading hospital before getting home. Very scary when being a solo traveller. Kermit is being transported back in the next few days. This really highlights the importance of having medical and vehicle insurance. I've missed you guys, but I'm upto date now and looking forward to your adventures in Scotland. 👍🐸

I can only eat them now and again as they quite literally turn my skin yellow, to the point people think I’m jaundiced! It’s good to know you can take Snoopy back to Consort if he has to have work done; as you will know I have to empty Cheryl every time! 😳
I have heard carrots can have that effect on some people. Yes, Consort have been very good and it’s so handy to stop off on our travels without having to empty the van 🙂
It was all going so well. We were happily watching your video. Blue was snoring away, diazepam kicked in and then...you opened a packet of chocolates!! Honestly, we swear he can hear packets being opened from the garden! No more snoring. He was bolt upright looking around...who's got it 😅😅

During the video you said that one of the reasons you had the inverter fitted was to save gas. I wondered if you have only a small gas cylinder on board?We have found that just using gas for cooking it lasts ages. We don’t heat the water as we always use facility blocks and only use heat on hook up. Would you say newer vans tend to rely on electricity more as our van has two decent size gas bottles and the fridge,heating, water heating and cooking can all be run on gas ? Many thanks Alan.

I was watching your video on where you want to travel, and mentioned some channels you watch may I suggest snow and Curt they travelled all the US and south america but I've been watching them travel in Europe and in particular Slovenia and Bosnia

Inverters. I have a few of them but rarely use them. I am not convinced that a 1000w runing a kettle is a good idea 85amps. But every installation is different. Interested to see how it performs long term . George
Hi I'm interested in this too, why is it possibly not a good idea? Is 85 amps too high, or is it going to run the battery down or what? Obviously Consort knew what they were doing, genuine interest not being an electrician ☝️👍
There is no problem. The battery is designed to deliver far more amps and the inverter is modest by today’s standards. It’s free energy and when that battery is full the solar panels are wasted. 👍
Yes. I had to look up ‘sunstrike’. Amazed that I have not heard that term before especially as I used to deal with road crashes. I always called it glare 🙂👍
We prefer snoopy as well. We would have avoided the snakes before but being with Tim and Claude showed us just how docile they are. In long grass though it pays to look carefully.
I always worry about people dinging my van, then driving off, whilst parked and the van not attended. To that end, I have been looking for a small power pack that will charge, fed from the cigar lighter and power a dash cam at the same time, most don't. I have been looking a while but I have finally found one. It is a Pifco 4000 mili amp hour small black flat and square power pack, that has two power outlet feeds, bought from home bargains for £6 odd. I can now just turn the ignition off and the dash cam continues to be fed from the power bank automatically, for some considerable time, don't know how long yet ? All without permanently wiring it in and can be moved from vehicle to vehicle. Don't leave it uncovered in the sun though, unless you want an in van barbecue.
We're currently on Mull where you have to be careful in longer grass as they have adders too! Feels odd to see our hot sticky faces in Singapore when we've spent today (mid July) in cagoules! N&Nx

I'm back, I've spent the last two days playing catch up.
Been on my annual trip to Europe.
Spent two weeks with friends in Poland, then headed for Austria via the Czech Republic. Arriving at a lovely campsite over looking lake Thiersee. This is where it all went horribly wrong. I found myself on the floor of the van. I managed to raise the alarm for help from the family next door. That was the last thing I remember until someone spoke to me in hospital and said I
.had been a sleep for four weeks.
I had a severe lung infection (sepsis) and my kidneys had shut down. I spent a total of eight weeks in the Austrian hospital before being flown back to the UK where I spent five days in Reading hospital before getting home. Very scary when being a solo traveller.
Kermit is being transported back in the next few days.
This really highlights the importance of having medical and vehicle insurance.
I've missed you guys, but I'm upto date now and looking forward to your adventures in Scotland. 👍🐸

Interesting meal options, quite mouth watering. Hope the adjustments and additions to Snoopy work and make things easier for you both. Well, what a lovely long episode, thank you. I have noticed you really love your carrots, don’t you. I can only eat them now and again as they quite literally turn my skin yellow, to the point people think I’m jaundiced! It’s good to know you can take Snoopy back to Consort if he has to have work done; as you will know I have to empty Cheryl every time! 😳
I have heard carrots can have that effect on some people. Yes, Consort have been very good and it’s so handy to stop off on our travels without having to empty the van 🙂

It was all going so well. We were happily watching your video. Blue was snoring away, diazepam kicked in and then...you opened a packet of chocolates!! Honestly, we swear he can hear packets being opened from the garden! No more snoring. He was bolt upright looking around...who's got it 😅😅

During the video you said that one of the reasons you had the inverter fitted was to save gas. I wondered if you have only a small gas cylinder on board?We have found that just using gas for cooking it lasts ages. We don’t heat the water as we always use facility blocks and only use heat on hook up.
Would you say newer vans tend to rely on electricity more as our van has two decent size gas bottles and the fridge,heating, water heating and cooking can all be run on gas ?

I was watching your video on where you want to travel, and mentioned some channels you watch may I suggest snow and Curt they travelled all the US and south america but I've been watching them travel in Europe and in particular Slovenia and Bosnia

Lily O´Brien's chocolates are the best I have ever tried. A chocolate shop here in Lund, Sweden, used to have them, but sadly not anymore. ☹
Inverters. I have a few of them but rarely use them. I am not convinced that a 1000w runing a kettle is a good idea 85amps. But every installation is different. Interested to see how it performs long term . George
Hi I'm interested in this too, why is it possibly not a good idea? Is 85 amps too high, or is it going to run the battery down or what? Obviously Consort knew what they were doing, genuine interest not being an electrician ☝️👍
There is no problem. The battery is designed to deliver far more amps and the inverter is modest by today’s standards. It’s free energy and when that battery is full the solar panels are wasted. 👍

Yes. I had to look up ‘sunstrike’. Amazed that I have not heard that term before especially as I used to deal with road crashes. I always called it glare 🙂👍

We prefer snoopy as well. We would have avoided the snakes before but being with Tim and Claude showed us just how docile they are. In long grass though it pays to look carefully.
I think I would want my snake boots if I were walking through that field 😆

I always worry about people dinging my van, then driving off, whilst parked and the van not attended. To that end, I have been looking for a small power pack that will charge, fed from the cigar lighter and power a dash cam at the same time, most don't. I have been looking a while but I have finally found one. It is a Pifco 4000 mili amp hour small black flat and square power pack, that has two power outlet feeds, bought from home bargains for £6 odd. I can now just turn the ignition off and the dash cam continues to be fed from the power bank automatically, for some considerable time, don't know how long yet ? All without permanently wiring it in and can be moved from vehicle to vehicle. Don't leave it uncovered in the sun though, unless you want an in van barbecue.

Adders love water & swim well. They can be found even swimming in freshwater pools on beaches.
We ran a mile from one once but being with Tim and Claude has changed our minds now 🙂
