I do agree, but I can't help myself thinking about the brutality of chess as shown by Alice's opponent. This surely shows how chess reflects life. I'll keep politics out of this, but the world is so full of brutality!
I love Alice and feel for her, but hate the way she is treated.
Sorry, but this is not about educating. It's about beating the "shit" out of your young, intelligent and conscientious players.
Life will teach Alice that you need to rise above all this anger and hatred and go beyond what it takes to beat much higher rated players.
I find humiliation a great turn-off from enjoying watching chess games with exceptionally gifted children when I see this type of typical adult behaviour.

@@NoneNone-cy5be Money has nothing to do with this. It it demoralizing and emotionally draining for children to be "taught a lesson" this way by more advanced players and put in their place. They are humbled! This type of behaviour is not only occurring in chess but is wide spread throughout the world.

This was part of A. Ivanov's preparation. It's a line of the Fantasy (Maroczy) variation of the Caro-Kann. Alice's Qd8-b6? was a mistake and she ended up with 2 minor pieces and a pawn for the queen. It was not nearly enough.
