Hi mate, don’t know if you can remember years ago I’m one of caers old close friends! We used to come over to Ringwood and stay with you guys here and there, remember when you brought the ktm enduro and you wheelied past us!! Didn’t realise you took it this far!! Looking incredible mate! All the best to the fam!! Stay safe you mad man!!
Omg absolutely fantastic videos and insight to what really makes it all happen, honestly your videos are better than anything I've ever seen by the big TV companies, you should be very proud my friend, and on top of that an absolute amazing rider always fighting in the mix and a bloody nice person and family man ,nothing but respect and best wishes for this year's tt ,stay fast and and stay safe x
James you are a fantastic rider and an even greater person !! Dont be hard on yourself, we are all behind you and wishing you a great but safe TT no matter what the results, just bring it home please 👍🏼
Love these videos keep them coming 🤙 I remember meeting James at the TT back in 2019 practice week, all it did was piss it down. Me and my wife was walking past his set up and he flagged us in for a photo. Fantastic rider and a lovely guy.
Thanks for sharing. When James is talking, he’s obviously massively talented and knowledgeable, it makes me think of fighter pilot briefings. Everything is fine tuned and detailed. Boss insight that! 👍🏻
Enjoy the family and kids when they are young, they grow up so fast, and believe me I understand about the overcrowded camper! We used to a pop-up with 7 people dirt biking, hunting, road trips all over the US with kids and In-laws! Stay safe brother, rooting hard as always from CO, USA.
Still a great result! I like all of the technical bits you share. No one else is showing much of the technical side of TT. Best of luck to you, great content!
I can sense the tension and to put it bluntly..the worry that James is experiencing. You can 'cut it with a knife'. How James copes with this is very, very hard to imagine. A very brave, very skilled supreme sportsman. Thank you for allowing us to experience your 'experiences'.
Great video James, you're making it look easy. I can see more and more riders doing a helmet change in the pits following what happened with MD. Best of luck for TT 24
visor really interesting, especially after what happened to Dunlop on Sunday, these small adjustments are massively important. I saw Harrison changing helmets in the pitstop in the super bike race. great race too, 4th place then a 5th is amazing.
I’m starting to really like James Hillier, he speaks with such passion about the TT… he’s banging on the back door of what is now ‘the big four’ Podiums are definitely possible for J.H if one of the big four have a problem. I watched at K tree yesterday and Dean Harrison had a tank slapper that was almost as bad as Davo Johnson, he crashed right in front of me.
Great behind the scenes, brilliant videos, luv watching them, James your a top bloke, thank you for signing my tshirt, safe ride 👍🤞🤞 hoping you win, smthe senior would be mint, take care, ohhhh the wife wants to see Fenton your lurcher haha his ace. 👍👍👍🏍️🤘
Truthfully he used the same guy for years and that's the first time something went wrong. I feel real bad for that guy and Michael Dunlop, he was clearly going to win that race and break the record 😔
@gixxersrad they could, but some riders say that can also cause problem from the ear plugs coming out, sweat going into eyes, etc. Dean Harrison completely switches helmets to avoid that very same issue. IDK what's better, honestly. I assume each rider has their own preferences.
Really feel for MD and his visor guy. Pit stops are very tense and easy to go wrong. Also I don’t think helmet manufacturers ever design a visor mechanism for speed as this is probably the only race in world where visors are required to be changed in a hurry.
Loving the TT series of videos James, having just seen Dean Harrison trying to eat potatoes and rice for breakfast on a race day, do you also have to eat similar? Good luck for the rest of the week, I'm cheering you along on TT+
17:50 Looking at the Superbike Race results the top 4 have difference like 5 seconds between each other... and then you with +1.30sec. Do you think changing the bike (with BMW) would make the difference?
Yes funny that. Doesn’t happen often. Each helmet brand visor mechanism is different. The agv one is quite simple and not yet caused me an issue. And hopefully never will!
Hello James, nice series. I wish U all the best for the next couple of races. Can U please tell me what the restrictions are on running a 636cc bike instead of a 599cc bike? Thank u
A bit too prescient discussing the importance of a visor change considering what then transpired in the actual race ( thankfully not your pit crew though! ) . Another niformatiove, insightful vlog. Thanks.
Its been amazing racing so far. loved watching you all. Best of luck for the rest. Do you ride on the roads? I'm convinced I saw you up horton ways riding into b'mouth about 5 years ago, so I wondeed if you have a road licence? (probably wasn't, but it'd be cool if it was) What rims do you run for the TT? Cheers
in the super sport race you finished 40 seconds behind 3rd place , which, amazingly is only about 2 or 3 tenths of a second per mile right? what kind of set up changes would you make to close that gap, was it a top speed issue? what is the biggest set-up challenge on the IOMTT compared to short circuits.
How hard is it to go from one bike to the other, considering they are different manufacturers bikes. Or are the ergonomics, setup etc so close, you do not think about it that much
without a "screw" over 200 with this agv visor ??? in video's this stop look "many seconds" ...but their is no time to screw this fix Michael Dunlop with japan helmet came into trouble , one youtube video let see AGV K6 is quiter then schuberth of course with custom-fit guards ; do you agree ?
Jeez how prescient was that bit about the visors ! Spooky ! Great insight into the mindset of a racer before setting off. Excellent work James !

That was one hell of a run in the first super bike.
Thanks for bringing us along with you this year
Very well done video series. Wishing you all the best the rest of the week.

Another great video James, you have a brilliant team too. 👏👏 ride safe.😊
Loving the insight videos.... hope you get on the podium in one or more of your remaining races....
These have been really enjoyable - such a nice genuine guy
I can sense the tension and to put it bluntly..the worry that James is experiencing.
You can 'cut it with a knife'.
How James copes with this is very, very hard to imagine.
A very brave, very skilled supreme sportsman.
Thank you for allowing us to experience your 'experiences'.
Thank you for taking the time to explain on how everything works and comes into plan. Wish you the best of luck on the road with lots of fun.
Great job on the videos, great to see you pushing towards the front mate.
Great video James, you're making it look easy. I can see more and more riders doing a helmet change in the pits following what happened with MD. Best of luck for TT 24
Saludos cesar cruz viendo sus videos desde Bogota .colombia
Great job James! Really enjoy following the TT in all ways possible. What you guys/ladies do is incredible. Great Videos!

I was just thinking the same.
Thank you.
I hope, JH will get on the podium in the coming days. Smashing fella!
James Hillier Racing, Your videos always make me happy, so I subscribed!

Keep pushing. I know you will be on the podium before the week is done.

Another classy well edited video.. Awesome performance in the SS race!
As a 1990 ZXR750 H2 owner, I Love that ZX6R 💚
Absolute legend and great video update. 👍👍
Outstanding! 🦾👍🫡💚💚💚

Hi James, interesting to hear your diet for racing etc thank you…another cracking video
Great videos! Good luck!
Hard luck dude...it will happen for ya
James make it happen this year, put that smokewagon "fireblade" on top step,
Brilliant mate.

4th is so close, but keep going, the Fireblade will come to you. Cheers James
like it son 🔥💯💪🏻
Brilliant
4th was a great result
Dunlop's team is busy taking notes on the preparation of the visors.
Truthfully he used the same guy for years and that's the first time something went wrong. I feel real bad for that guy and Michael Dunlop, he was clearly going to win that race and break the record 😔
@@Mustradamus Can they replace the whole helmet? It would be easier there would be no problem like Dunlop had
@gixxersrad they could, but some riders say that can also cause problem from the ear plugs coming out, sweat going into eyes, etc. Dean Harrison completely switches helmets to avoid that very same issue. IDK what's better, honestly. I assume each rider has their own preferences.

@@gixxersradyes they can, Dean Harrison for one does it.

17:50 Looking at the Superbike Race results the top 4 have difference like 5 seconds between each other... and then you with +1.30sec.
Do you think changing the bike (with BMW) would make the difference?
James you explain about the potential visor fitting issue then Michael has that exact issue in the next race.
Thank u
👍
Keep it up James doing good question why don’t you change your helmet in the pit stop instead of the visor???
Much easier for me with agv just to change visor. Can’t do helmet properly with gloves on and would want anyone else doing it for me.
Perhaps show Dunlop that tip ❤😂
A bit too prescient discussing the importance of a visor change considering what then transpired in the actual race ( thankfully not your pit crew though! ) . Another niformatiove, insightful vlog. Thanks.
How many tear offs can u have on the visor can u have as many as u can fit on or a set amount
3 is maximum really. Any more is a struggle to fit and also starts to blur vision a little.

Wow was the visor hack before or after Dunlops issues 😮
Before. Always a risk of that happening when doing a visor change. DH changes his whole helmet.
Whats the song playing when there starting the race please?
in the super sport race you finished 40 seconds behind 3rd place , which, amazingly is only about 2 or 3 tenths of a second per mile right? what kind of set up changes would you make to close that gap, was it a top speed issue? what is the biggest set-up challenge on the IOMTT compared to short circuits.
I had a problem with my quick shifter and was missing gears. I hope to be further up in the next supersport race. The problem should be fixed now.
How hard is it to go from one bike to the other, considering they are different manufacturers bikes. Or are the ergonomics, setup etc so close, you do not think about it that much
Not to bad tbh. Soon settle in after about 30 seconds I’d say.
Do you run road shift as it looked like it on the 600?
Yes I use road shift pattern. Most run race but I’ve always kept road pattern. Up for up and down for down. Keep it Simple 😊
@@jameshillierracing Thanks for replying. Wishing you a fast and safe race week.
Hi James, Q, What chemical or cleaner do you use to clean bugs off of the motorbike screen?
We use soaked microfibre clothes with Muc-Off cleaner and water then buffed off with a dry cloth.
without a "screw" over 200 with this agv visor ???
in video's this stop look "many seconds" ...but their is no time to screw this fix
Michael Dunlop with japan helmet came into trouble , one youtube video let see
AGV K6 is quiter then schuberth of course with custom-fit guards ; do you agree ?
We’ve all barebacked & regretted it 🫣
Haha 😂
Especially when you hit the small birds, they can explode and make a right mess 😂
