as a Gwen main the advice i can give you is building defensively from mid to lategame never works even when ahead. Only build your boots defensively, also only when you absolutely need (eg. Trynda, Urgot matchups on toplane u need to have Tabis) but like 95%of time you should build pure dmg and pen. It works best for a hyperscaler. In lategame that 300 armor won't save you (experience), your W placement will determine whether you win or lose a fight.
