    Janey and Jason, your garden looks so beautiful!!! You should definitely be proud of all the projects that you've accomplish in just 1 year. Great job!!! We've also had a cooler winter this year here in South Florida and it's such a lovely change. Enjoy the weather in your cozy garden. 💕

    Idea for the hose link; instead of replacing the wooden post, drill into it and put in a 1” pipe and mount your hose link on that. It’ll spin 360° without having to dig out the wooden post.

    The great structure that you’ve created in this garden is really shining through now that there are fewer plants - beautiful! Janey, the final shot of you standing in the secret garden framed by the arches is striking - good job Jason. What a pleasure to see your December garden this morning ❤

    It’s so fun and exciting being able to follow the evolution of all areas of your garden! It’s easy to lose sight of how far it’s come, but when you do a side by side with your first new property tours it is literally mind blowing. I’m also really looking forward to seeing what you do with the center island next season!

    Hi Janey! Just hope you and Jason take some time to really appreciate all you have accomplished in the last year!! I’ve been in my property for two years and mostly all I see is what still needs to be done. I am always pleasantly surprised when someone comes over and remarks on how good things look!!! It reminds me to reflect on my successes and not always focus on the future plans! So let me pass that on to you….things look SO good at your place!!! And a tip: I have some olive trees that I have had in pots for 3 years and last year I planted a mix of succulents in the pot instead of annuals. What a success that turned out to be!! It still looks great and the water requirements for the olives and the succulents are the same, so they are all happy!!

    Hi Janey and Jason,
    Great video! Everything looks awesome. You have done very well in your yard. The gardens are beautiful. First day of winter will be the 21st. After that we'll gain a minute a day of daylight. Yay! No more afternoon darkness or I should say evening. Here in the Oklahoma Panhandle it starts getting dark about 6:30. Ugh. I should be used to it. I lived in Alaska for 3 years. Long Winters 🥶 Thank you for sharing this video. Have a great rest of the day. Stay warm. Just the season for cocoa. Yum! ❄️ 😊 👋 🥶

  • @kevinglazebrook4189
    @kevinglazebrook4189 День назад +7

    Instead of pulling out the beautiful post for the Hoselink could you cut it down to the appropriate height and drill a hole large enough to set the metal pipe in? That way you keep the nice post, you don’t have to pull it and set a new post, and you still get the functionality. The diameters of the pipe may be too big but it’s a thought.
    You guys are awesome and I love that Jason is more involved now. ❤

    I agree that the potting area needs to be shaded and waterproof. I have a 6x10 gazebo frame that I use a clear greenhouse tarp to protect it from rain. It did droop in the middle so i added 3 Costco plant trellises to hold it up. Just an inexpensive solution.

    I love your garden lights. Jason, could you just drill a hole into the top of the Hoselink post and insert a pole for your Hoselink? You might need to cut down the post so it’s not too high. That would avoid the need to drill into unknown material below.

    You should put clear roofing panels for the back of your office's roof. That way you still get day light and can see your tree from there. I love begonias because even when there is frost they still grow well. I think I might get several varieties for my garden because everything else is pretty dormant. I'm also getting into evergreens these days. I have two Muskgogee Crepe Myrtles and they like a lot of water and a lot of full sun. They are my favorite trees even though they are looking dormant now. I have seen some crepe myrtles that grow during this time that are a light lavender color.

    An idea that I saw someone do and then I did It for my hoselink is to use black gas pipe, it comes in various lengths, check the width and the pole of the hoselink will fit right inside the pole/pipe, also I did put a piece of plastic/cushion as to protect the bottom of the hoselink. I am so amazed by how much work you both have done in just a little time to make your space your own just fantastic 😅

    Everything looks beautiful! What about using clear polycarbonate over your outdoor potting area, that way it stops the rain but allows light through? Also Garden Answer has a video showing how to use a small pipe for 360 use of a hose link, you might find helpful. Can you please provide info on your greenhouse heater, I love how it blends in and you don’t really notice it!

    ...your potting area is just dreamy...the frame is there (the "hard" part is done); install a tin roof to match your other building, or raised seam metal roofing. You can work out there in the rain. You will love it. I just got an antique cast iron double-drain-board sink installed this summer behind my little greenhouse for a potting area and got a little roof installed -- I just LOVE it! You will too!

    HOSE LINK IDEA FOR JASON: Hey Jason, I was thinking about doing this in my yard. I have a umbrella stand (really heavy), I have half of the rod for the umbrella sitting in the stand. Wondering if the hoselink could just drop in the umbrella rod. I just don't know if the hole is big enough, but that solves a problem for me and I can move it if I ever need to.

My African blue basil has been blooming non stop since i planted it this spring and it is so attractive to pollinators that it is literally constantly buzzing. I just looked and Green Acres sells it (not sure if it's available year round or just in the spring)! You can eat the Basil but the flowers are the best part, and it doesn't bolt, it just keeps growing! My plants were 4" when I got them and they're over 2 feet now.
