I had been seeing his channel for ages and convinced myself it was a narrator I'd listened to before and didn't like. Missed out on so much for so long because of it.
Ya know. That lady in the broken down jeep story really makes me understand how kidnapping and serial killers were so prominent in my parents' day. That's next level obliviousness
I refuse to believe it's real. Someone shows up to fix it, and says it's "a loose wire" which means it only needs to be tightened. Then as soon as someone else shows up he quickly runs away. How was she not immediately worried? Then it turns out the new guy sounds like the person you talked to on the phone and she is completely fine with it. Haha isn't it funny. Next the guy finds a FOOT AND A HALF LONG BLADE, and this dumb b1tch goes, "oh you know 18 inch long knives. always getting into the darndest places." The lady was unbelievably stupid, and the fake guy was even dumber! He could have just walked over and stabbed her or done whatever he was planning. I guess the plan absolutely needed her to walk directly next to him to work. If this is fictional then whoever wrote it needs to redraft, and ask people to read it over. If it's real... Good God this idiot probably fed her kids rat poison while thinking it was baby food.
As someone with a huge interest in birds, I just wanna correct the guy in the first story. It's not mostly war cries when birds sing at dawn, it is mostly mating calls. 😂
Its really amazing how entertaining it is to watch groups of birds interact. I never understood bird watching til I put out feeders and got into their soap opera lives. I can sit on my porch and watch them for hours
"I'm an experienced hunter and a pretty good marksman."...." It never occurred to me to use the bolt to chamber another round"... Ok , Mr Hunter Marksman
You can’t hunt in glacier national park. If you kill a grizzly you have to prove self defense and save the skull for investigation. Also all grizzly encounters are registered. This is a fake story.
Also Ennis is close to Yellowstone not glacier they are far apart in a giant state. Someone has watched too much yelllowstone and has never actually been to mt
The story with the lady and the car that wouldn't start. She's insanely dense. "Hey I found this obvious weapon under your hood where that sketchy guy just was" oh, ok 🤷♂️ never seen it before. It's probably nothing to worry about. As much as I despise CPS, they might want to check in on those kids. The mom is highly incompetent to a dangerous degree.
@@REChronic54 imagine some girl seeing a guy dart from the bushes by her door. Then a friend says "hey, I found this duct tape, pills, and a knife where that guy just was" and she just shrugs it off. That mom is on that level of stupidity.
@Tom teeriff Nash I've noticed that too. I wonder if it's simply because they've burned through the really good ones so there's isn't much left. A lot of stories sound like an edgy 15 year old wrote them. Everything is scary "I saw another person outside at 1 in the morning, now I have PTSD" or "I woke up unable to move, definitely a demon. No way was it sleep paralysis". Still others are complete fabrications based off actual stories. Really messed up events that shouldn't be used to champ at the bit for attention.
When I was 13 I had just finished my babysitting course through the Red Cross. I found a family to sit for the next week, two boys, and a younger girl. This was in a state where tornadoes were not uncommon, but the weather seemed fine that evening. About 20 minutes after the parents left I heard the sirens blaring, alerting us that a tornado was on its way. I briefly looked outside and cars were already starting to slide around and trees were being uprooted. Without thinking about it I grabbed all three kids who were crying their poor eyes out and pulled them under the families large oak table, then I grabbed the biggest blanket I could find and draped that over the table so all the sides were covered. I grabbed one more heavy blanket and went under the table with the kids and draped the blanket over them while I held them tight, I guess trying to use my body as a last line of defense. The tornado ran its course and of course there was a lot of destruction , but most importantly, the children were just fine. The parents could not get to us earlier for obvious reasons, but as soon as it cleared, they ran into the house, and were so relieved to see everyone was OK. They ended up paying me about $150 for watching the kids for only 45 minutes. In the 90s as a 13 year old that was a small fortune that I gladly accepted! Anyways, after my parents heard about the story, they told me that I did well under pressure and said I should go into a field of work where that was required. So here I am now over 20 years later working in emergency medical services. It’s interesting how one 45 minute moment can change the direction of my whole life.
What a beautiful true story of courage, bravery & snap thinking & instinct to protect the little ones. How it changed your life's trajectory , is epic.

Im sorry the dagger story really gets under my skin because of how obvious everything was that the first guy was planning something bad and finding the dagger you still don't get it 😒 🙄really
I’ve had a really stressful evening that’s going to be easier to wind down too now because of Let’s Read. Your story telling gives me something to focus on rather than my anxieties at night. Thank you so much.
Probably THE best narrating channel I've encountered. I constantly play these videos, whether I'm working, trying to go to bed or driving home. Thank you so much for these.
I fell asleep listening to a podcast and somehow landed on this channel and lemme tell you my dreams were so weird I woke up not knowing what was happening or where I was 😂 my timber’s were shivered
Why didn't Lucy make all her social media accounts private the moment she knew Eric was creeping on her? I don't think she was as scare as she claims to be
I decided to randomly search for a story or facts about the ocean. Stumbled across letsread and here i am like 18 months later still going to sleep to these. Needs more content about the sea though. Those first 2 videos i listened to all of that time ago remain my favourite ones
YAY! OH MY GOD, A LONG ONE!!! (“That’s what she said” -Michael Scott) I am going to sleep amazing tonight!!!!! Thank you so much! I am a newer subscriber (I think I subscribed in 2019 or 2020) I’m so glad I stumbled onto your channel, instead of getting addicted to my sleeping pills I’m addicted to scary stories at bedtime!!! You came into my life after I had gotten clean off drugs and i honestly wish I could repay you! Thank you for your time, dedication and hard work! I want to start my own narrating channel , I hate the sound of my voice but, I do LOVE to talk!
The black-capped chickadees (I love them) give me the angry chirping if I go out and it’s feeding time. I give them mealworms once in a while so they best shut it
I’m having an addiction issue to this channel! Help!😂 I have it on while I clean house, drive the car, fall asleep. The stories are interesting but nothing beats the hosts voice-thanks for all the work put into this😊
I was listening to Mr. Ballen for months then I found let’s read and I love the narrators voice so much that I play it to go to sleep at night. Thank you 😊
I love Mr Ballen too, cracking story teller and I'm in stitches when he occasionally shows his laughing bloopers during the like button intros, great channel ☺️👍
When I was in highschool I lived in Mariposa which is a small town near Yosemite. During that time my uncle managed a hotel restaurant just up the road from Cedar Lodge and I had my first job there washing dishes. This was a pretty wild story for a small town like that. My dad knew of the guy and would see him around town before all of this happened. I had completely forgotten about this. Crazy.
I'm currently listening to this after leaving the ozark mountains in Arkansas on vacation from NYS😅😆 How ironic. Glad I'm listening to this after the fact
G'day, a new notification from Let's Read! "Time to chop up, get stoned & Listen to arguably the best narrator on RUclips"!!!! Cheers 🍻 from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
That women trying to leave the doctor's office with small kids, WHY didn't she ask the people leaving for a jump? If your car don't start & goes "click" you have a dead battery. If you're a responsible driver you have jumper cables. She had small kids & didn't ask for help? _Why_ TF are _so many_ women clueless &/or helpless? They're just _asking_ to be victims!!
Thanks Joel 💜awesome as always!!! I have been listening to many different narrators and your still one of my favorites by far💕💜 I start to get withdrawals if I don’t listen to your stories once a day 😁
Have there been any live shows that I have been missing? I love the live readings. They always make me laugh, and am terrified at the same time. 💚💚💚A wonderful concoction of emotions that only Let's Read can evoke.💚💚💚
I feel kinda bad for the guy that caused the kids death. His coworkers told him some story where a kid drowned and became a vengeful ghost. Its a no brainer why he wouldnt go out into freezing water. Dont tell a ghost story where a kid drowns, then when a kid actually drowns get angry. Get angry at yourself. Obviously the kid shouldnt have died. Yet i cant blame the man for it. Should he of checked? Yes, but hindsight is 20/20
Really enjoyed these stories!! Where did the bloke go? How weird!!!! and the mechanic story really did give me chills. Thanks again for your amazing work 😊
Waited for the notification knowing Wednesday is a Let's read day. Didn't get the notification. I feel like the Magpie who dropped the grape I fed him through the hole in the neighbour's shed roof.
Idk if I believe about the park ranger and his connection to the Stayner case. That happened over 20 years ago so there is a plethora of info on that case and even mor,e info on his baby brother Steven Stayner. I've watched at least a handful of stories on Cary Stayner, there's more than a handful out there. When he mentioned, maybe I should write a book, what do y'all think? I felt even more suspicious. I could be wrong of course but 🤷♀️
So not true, his "story". His dates aren't even correct. The Sund's & Pelosso were killed & Carole & Silvina were burned the month before the car was found. It wasn't burning anymore, it had long died out by the time the hiker found it. Also, the hiker found the car on the 18th & CHP verified it was Carole's rented car, however, the FBI agents didn't arrive until early the 19th & that's when they opened the trunk & found 2 of the missing women. The hiker finding the car & the agents opening the trunk wasn't on the same day. And by the time agents arrived the next morning, the scene had been secured & law enforcement were the only ones allowed in the perimeter.
The way I see it is no matter true or not it's still a good story to listen to. I come into just listening to the stories not thinking if true or not just stories to listen to. I don't think is this story true or not I just listen. It takes away the mood if I do that and just come to hear stories that take my mind off everyday Stuff.
I fully intend to subscribe via payments once my fraudulent card actions no longer affect my life. This is honestly the best channel of this genre. Thank you for giving us the best!

1:18:37 If this stalker story's true, dang this girl for sure has problems setting boundaries with that creep, which of course is partially connected to her young age, but it's often sadly also a sign of coming from a somewhat dysfunctional home - seeing your parent struggle with their relationships and boundaries often makes it harder or impossible to learn this as their kid (- at least that's what therapy taught me was my problem with boundaries). Anyways ... I'd make screenshots, document every interaction including PayPal, change all my online activities and stuff. Not blaming the victim here, however girl please work on your boundaries ... I also noticed, even her "never talk to me again" came across as rather weak, it's "NEVER contact me again or else", at least imo. & Needless to say, that place is a complete joke for keeping this known creep employed there.

Im sorry the dagger story really gets under my skin because of how obvious everything was that the first guy was planning something bad and finding the dagger you still don't get it 😒 🙄really
Every time I hear this story I am just thinking, omg how freaking dense can you be?! xD
“Durr I’m going to kept the pointy thing”
Just what I need midway through a 12 hour night shift 😄
I work 12 hour night shifts too listening to these haha
THIS GUY'S VOICE IS AWARD WINNING!!! I love to listen to it (oh and also the stories! lol). He calms me on a stressful day.
I’ve had a really stressful evening that’s going to be easier to wind down too now because of Let’s Read. Your story telling gives me something to focus on rather than my anxieties at night. Thank you so much.
I was literally praying for this before I go sleep THANK YOU i can sleep peacefully hearing your voice ❤❤
Love the hunting/park ranger stories. Keep em' coming.
Yesss. Right on time. I was just deciding which of your stories to read!
Why didn't Lucy make all her social media accounts private the moment she knew Eric was creeping on her? I don't think she was as scare as she claims to be
Yeah, that one irritated me. No woman should be victimized, but at the same time, it’s your responsibility to protect yourself. Come on girl!
That’s exactly what I was thinking!!!!! All of my social media is on private for that exact reason
Or.... it's just a story written by a bad writer...
If he was hot she wouldn't have cared.
I thought so too, my teenage self would have told him to F off too
Dad of the year goes to the dad stalking his child's baby sitter 😂
How do we really know that the dad didn't have something more sinister in mind?
Yeah very scary dad
Very scary deranged husband
I decided to randomly search for a story or facts about the ocean. Stumbled across letsread and here i am like 18 months later still going to sleep to these. Needs more content about the sea though. Those first 2 videos i listened to all of that time ago remain my favourite ones
I miss the paranormal stories you used to do all the time but awesome as always my man!
Same they are my favorite
YAY! OH MY GOD, A LONG ONE!!! (“That’s what she said”
-Michael Scott) I am going to sleep amazing tonight!!!!!
My mind went right to Michael Scott when I read that part of your comment. hehe
The black-capped chickadees (I love them) give me the angry chirping if I go out and it’s feeding time. I give them mealworms once in a while so they best shut it
I’m having an addiction issue to this channel! Help!😂 I have it on while I clean house, drive the car, fall asleep. The stories are interesting but nothing beats the hosts voice-thanks for all the work put into this😊
Cleaning and Let's Read...perfect timing 😌
Man like Let’s Read always coming out with the bangers ya dunnnoooooo🔥
Hi! Live in Sweden and just love these stories! I clean, do the dishes, and sleep to them! Just love it 😅
Thanks!
I was just replaying some of your old videos while cooking dinner. 🤗💜💜💜💜
"one of the last pieces of untouched land in North america"
sir have you seen canada 😅😜
Haha for real or heard of Alaska ? 😂
Yea maybe mainland USA
I believe Mr.Ballen covered the story about the coworker in the woods..a different perspective..those poor women
Joel and Mr. Ballen are both the best narrators in their own rights. ❤
Thank you 🙏 appreciate your work so much I love to listen to you while I’m making corsets and costumes!!!
Thanks for the upload!
Woohoo! What a treat to catch this so early! Shello, spooky friends! XD
Could be social anxiety. Lots of people don’t want to “bother” other people or inconvenience them in the slightest.
@@DeniseEightyEight not an excuse, especially when you have small children that rely on you to keep them safe.
Can the people who dislike the channel, just stop watching it?
I'm convinced there's a group of trolls who take joy in disliking people's most beloved videos on here
Thanks Joel 💜awesome as always!!! I have been listening to many different narrators and your still one of my favorites by far💕💜 I start to get withdrawals if I don’t listen to your stories once a day 😁
Thank you for always making your fans happy your the best Joel I swear!👑💜
YESSS RIGHT ON TIME! Right before my delivery shift!
I CANNOT fall to sleep without listening to you tell stories, your soothing voice really is something else ☺️
Have there been any live shows that I have been missing? I love the live readings. They always make me laugh, and am terrified at the same time. 💚💚💚A wonderful concoction of emotions that only Let's Read can evoke.💚💚💚
Wow such a long video. So appreciated, thank you for this🙏🏼
I feel kinda bad for the guy that caused the kids death. Yes, but hindsight is 20/20
That story sounds so fake
And ghosts are fake too lol
The way you said "get away from my bedroom" 😂
Really enjoyed these stories!! Where did the bloke go? How weird!!!! and the mechanic story really did give me chills. Thanks again for your amazing work 😊
You're not profiting off of other people's misery, you're creating value in the world and naturally, will be compensated. Thank you.
Waited for the notification knowing Wednesday is a Let's read day. Didn't get the notification. I feel like the Magpie who dropped the grape I fed him through the hole in the neighbour's shed roof.
Let’s read has such a good psychopath voice when he’s reenacting the creeps from these survivors stories. It’s like an audiobook lol
Gawd i love his voice! i could listen to him talk all day AND night (wink) !!!
My morning drive podcast. I’ve been listening to your story’s for a few months and I’m hooked.
Absolutely love these long videos. Keeps me sane at work!
Now this is the shizzle!!! Nodded off watching something else, and woke up to Let's Read!! Winner winner 😃.
I can listen to your voice 24/7 it is so soothing 😌 ✨ 💕. No matter how scary or frightening the stories are thank you 😊
i can’t sleep without ur videos thank you
Thank you once again, because of you I’m never bored at work !!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hey LR, great timing. About to lay down for a while then I have to tidy some things up because I have an house 🏠 inspection tomorrow (Friday) morning 😀. Thanks for your posting this. Take care of yourself and your family. Much love 💖 from South Australia 🇦🇺. 🥰😍😘😜.
Yes! So excited for this!!
Tysm!
First 2.7k viewers, one day this will be a giant achievement because you’ll have millions of subs we all love you Joel and I know you’ll continue to grow and make more and more people happy when they hear your videso
Best way to relax and get ready for bed
Why would she need to catch a ride to Sausalito if her white pickup was packed with her luggage? And why would her roommates not have seen her truck & luggage still outside the cabin? They supposedly saw her walk into the woods to catch that ride. What about the luggage?? Whole thing doesn’t make sense
“GeT aWaY fRoM mY bEdRoOm!” That part always cracks me up 😂
The best narrator, his voice perfect
I had tons of to-do’s and stayed up way too late. I’m hooked listening at midnight and keep going n going until 3am. I got a lot done… listening lol although at this time of night I was a bit jumpy. My blinds are open lol gah! Thnx & gn, until the next one!
perfect for the rainy day 🇵🇭
Love your stories. Thank you
I liked the first story. Bears are definitely scary! I could be wrong, but I don’t think hunting is allowed in Glacier NP. 🐻
Fall asleep to thos channel every night
1:18:37
If this stalker story's true, dang this girl for sure has problems setting boundaries with that creep, which of course is partially connected to her young age, but it's often sadly also a sign of coming from a somewhat dysfunctional home - seeing your parent struggle with their relationships and boundaries often makes it harder or impossible to learn this as their kid (- at least that's what therapy taught me was my problem with boundaries).
Anyways ... I'd make screenshots, document every interaction including PayPal, change all my online activities and stuff.
Not blaming the victim here, however girl please work on your boundaries ... I also noticed, even her "never talk to me again" came across as rather weak, it's "NEVER contact me again or else", at least imo.
& Needless to say, that place is a complete joke for keeping this known creep employed there.
these long videos are my favorite!! 🖤🖤
4:53 am. Nope. I didn't sleep at all. Haven't noticed anything repeating as yet. Who could sleep? Between him and Mr. Ballen, and Mike... I may not sleep at night again! Good job.
Thank you for the stories
Best channel providing this type of content. A+
Listening to this guy has become my daily routine.
The story about that drowned child I blame him even if he thought it was a prank he should have checked just to make sure.
