You have done a good job here, Dr. Belle. Just down that road is the Three Kings' Parish, an Augustinian church that is over 400 years old. Patron Saint: the miraculous Divina Pastora. Really gorgeous, like a mini cathedral. The dome is reminiscent of the Sistine Chapel. Too bad an ignorant parish priest decided to replace the original mosaic tile flooring with marble during his term. The original crystal chandeliers were also replaced with something consistent with the design of the lamp posts. Rumor has it that the chandeliers were 'sequestered' by Imelda Marcos or one of her Blue Ladies of the Martial Law era. That church is worth going back to. Fun Fact: At the corner of that same road, right before the church, is the residence of Eula Amorsolo Valdes where there used to hang some Amorsolo paintings.

@@BelleBites Sure. Also, there is a small natural wonder that's about an hour's drive from Gapan - the Minalungao National Park. You won't believe how it has remained relatively unknown to tourists. A foreign vlogger once mentioned to me that they consider it among the top 5 places they have visited in the country. Yes, that good.

Hi dear Jasmin! I know in this trying times mahirap talaga lumabas at mag ikot because covid infection is still around. Of course, I understand we are encouraged to stay at home. But remember important rin ang ating mental health. Meaning we need to relax, destress and unwind. We can do it safely by following health protocols. Remember, no one is encouraging you to go out but if you are planning to...this is a great place to visit or you can enjoy watching it on my vlog. It’s as if you’re there with me. :) Thanks for watching! 😘😘😘

nah!! This is a cheap copy cat of Calle Crisologo in Vigan. The Lamp posts are over the top at may binabagayan yang klaseng design. Enough na ang simple old classic lamp post just like in Vigan. Kung ganyan ilalagay sa Vigan magmumukhang cheap ang Calle Crisologo, I don't want to imagine.
because of the lamp posts nagmukhang themed park or event place sa mga weddings. Sayang, pinagaralan pa sana nila ng husto kung ano ba ang appropriate para sa ganyang setting.

Hi Nike7894! Actually, you are right about the lamps. It is quite fancy, it is similar to park lamps in Paris. I guess the LGU of Gapan wanted to restore the old town but in a more sophisticated and upscale look. The lamps are actually from Italy or France if I am not mistaken. The mayor actually didnt want it to be called little vigan as it is italian inspired according to him. It was the locals who called it little vigan. I guess we have different perspectives on how it looks but it is quite a view, I must say. Especially, for people who can’t visit places like Calle Crisologo or even Paris... Lumang Gapan is an alternative option. :)

Despite the 'imperfections' that you brutally pointed out, I laud the efforts of Mayor Emeng Pascual. His concept could be a blueprint for many old towns in the Philippines. San Miguel, Bulacan should follow suit. Historical Commission, take note.
