I remember the storm back in 1976. Northern California and oregon 100 mph winds , 20 inches of rain. All the highways were closed for days and some weeks. We had never seen anything like that back then

Calling a hurricane a cyclo e is like watching all the pretentious Seattleites call their soccer team a football club or pretend to love hockey.

It dropped 66 millibars in 24 hours. Bottoming out at 942 millibars. This is the pressure equivalent of a high end Category 3, low end Category 4 hurricane.
Millibars are units of barometric pressure. The lower the pressure the stronger the storm. The lower the pressure generally the stronger the wind.
A bomb cyclone only needs to drop 24 millibars in 24 hours to get that title.

Are they gonna blame Trump for this too?

They can blame Trump for this but people are not gonna believe it anymore because we all know that our weather is now being manipulated. Go check the HARP Weather Manipulation Device funded by the Federal Government and some other Big Corporations.

This is a weird story. It has the angle that lots of people who live in the PNW don’t understand how to use generators and chainsaws which is not the case. Many people definitely use these things here.

      That is comforting to know.
There are some areas of the country that have no idea what those items are. It is good to bring awareness, but, it sounds rather offensive.

Bomb cyclone is a meteorological term about how the cyclone forms explosively (24 mbar pressure drop in less than 24hr, this one did a 60mbar drop). You're the one getting freaked out so pull your head out of your butt. It is a real disaster around here! I'm currently sitting here waiting for power to get restored responding to morons like you claiming the news is spreading fear...

When the trees hit your house, you will call it a bomb cyclone too😅😢that is what scientists call it, it can vary, according to location when the cyclone breaks into two storms, and starts a tango, for a week long binge.

@@Zoe-c9zyes, some people can’t understand weather terms and instead they take it out of context.

Gotta find new adjectives for a storm. Hype it up like there have never been storms, before. Wolf! Wolf! ad nauseum.

You need to educate yourself on meteorlogic terms and understand why they call them what they do.

I am sitting in LFP, and cold. We've been without electricity for over 24 hours. Seattle City Light said we would be reconnected tonight at 11:59 PM (or earlier). Now they're predicting tomorrow by 11:59 PM. 🧊
