- I trapped myself in Silksong, and my only way out is 100%ing the game.
When I first tried Hollow Knight I gave up on the game for several years until finally coming back to it and realizing my mistake. I vowed not to make that same mistake with Silksong.

I can count how many bosses in Hollow Knight (not DLC, just base game) that deal 2 Mask Damage; similarly, I can count on a single hand how many bosses deal 1 Mask Damage in Silksong.
Can you also count the amount of times you can heal mid fight in silksong vs hollow knight? I'm sure you'll find that silksong has 10x more opportunities for that

@MungerTheDestroyer Yes but it takes a full gage of Silk AND it takes longer to build up a full gage of Silk compared to a full gage of Soul (attacking is generally slower and Silk build-up is slower as a result). Getting hit while healing also removes all of the Silk on your gage, in Hollow Knight it didnt.
I dont hate the healing system, but I think people tend to forget these aspects. More Masks per Heal does not necessarily mean the game is automatically easier, we gained a lot but lost a lot from getting that ability.
@Iron_Cutlass again, just the fact that you have 10x more opportunities to heal in battle is far more valuable than any of these other factors. Yes it is very punishing to whiff a heal but that's just something that's solved with practice and getting better at the game. Also the new heal just flows infinitely better in combat than the first one ever did. For example, there were basically zero opportunities to heal in the NKG fight outside of staggers, whereas for a silksong late game boss like Karmelita, you can pretty much always just double jump into the air and heal whenever you want and then just jump right back into the fight
41:19 the fact that the immediate reward for this fight is a bench is honestly kind of funny. It's not even in a very useful spot either, Team Cherry was literally just trolling us when they designed Bilewater.
the one redeeming quality is the music. it both fits thematically because bilewater used to be kind of a paradise (I think) until the citadel dumped all of their crap on it. the music sounds almost peaceful and like you’re in a paradise
I admire how you stay so calm after beating a difficult boss. You go "yes, you suck" in a whispery voice while i start cursing out the boss's entire bloodline 1 by 1.

Dude defeated the hardest ambush in the entire game on his first try. That shit took me HOURS worth of tries to finally beat it. I'm very impressed.

I tried this fight earlier in the game, got frustrated and just gave up bc i thought it was just an optional boss
Imagine my horror when i went into act 3 and discovered that i have to beat them to get to the diving bell AND now they summon void ads
The biggest mistake I made during my own playthrough
not every ad is voided but a lot are. also a tip for ppl stuck on them: you can knock the flying enemies into the lava which works especially well because they always spawn near the edge

I am so pissed, at bilewater, CAUSE I HAD NO IDEA ABOUT THAT GODDAMN HIDDEN BENCH, I EVEN 100% SILKSONG AND DIDN'T KNOW TILL THIS VIDEO. I DIED GODDAMN 7 TIMES TO HIM, 7 FULL RUN BACKS
I was lucky to beat him first try without knowing the hidden bench.
@WarlordofWarreni lowkey completed purified ducts first so I had the wreath for this fight, still sucked and didn't know the bench tho
You are gonna be even more pissed when you realize you could have just gone through putrified ducts if you just tried to fight him later in the game.
@chidori0117You can’t get into Bilewater from Ducts unless you beat Groal first; it’s a destructible floor only destructible from Bilewater

i’m in my second play though and I haven’t gotten to seth yet but I think i’ll be fine cus the pale oil didn’t take too long. the hardest game is easily juggle that took the longest. 2nd hardest is prob dodge and bounce is the easiest
@great_basin_bristlecone_pine For juggle, use wanderer so you can spam to win. Shaman and reaper are good for the others as well.

Playing with chat kind of made you go through everything in order which is an awesome experience, but i think having stories about "i missed that" or "i did this way before i got the right tools" would've been a nice experience as well.

I must say that final attempt for the last boss was a great showing. You were absolutely nailing it and using the Reaper Crests moveset very well

I got kidnapped there, it's close to an entrance to Hunter's March. It's that one place that requires double jump (or an easy pogo on a flying ant, which is what I did), normally there's nothing there on Act 1, so when I went back to explore in Act 2 I got gooped and taken.

I got kidnapped in bilewater that I decided to explore in act 1 right after getting the walljump, and honestly I wouldn't call it kidnapping more like a rescue mission

i didn't know about the secret bench in bilewater... took me about a week and 30 rage quits to kill him

You have missed out on an achievement by getting rid of the cursed crest. Twisted Child. Beat Grand Mother Silk while cursed with the Twisted Bud. By getting rid of the curse, you can no longer get that achievement UNLESS you go through a NEW save.
To be fair they were going for 100% not all achievements
@happypasta1229 Yeah all achievements requires at least two runs anyways (If you feel brave enough to speedrun in steel soul)
you can reverse the save file pressing the little arrow under the save and go back to the time you got cursed

Everyone says you don't feel the first extra mask because you still die in three hits, but that's really not true. It means if you're only healing when you get full value (i.e. have lost four masks, assuming double-damage and starting the fight undamaged) you're still three hits away from death, rather than two. And so when you heal the second time, you are two hits away from death, rather than one. It gives you a lot of extra security!

I did that too, but now I have to speedrun the game cursed, then get 100% in Steel Soul in under 30 hours.

9:54 It takes time to learn how to pogo with it, i use it the most in boss fights since it's one of the higher dps crest in the game thanks to the heal ability (you can activate before taking damage to heal it later!).
Wait till he finds out he can skip moorwing and he can leave the room.and you can skip sister splinter by taunting and luring the enemy’s under the weaver statue and down slash them to bounce to the weaver.
Also there most likely will be like a god of home here meaning and there will be lots of dlcs so good luck pal:3

Beast crest is so underrated 😢 It’s so garbage against a lot of bosses, but against the bosses it’s good against, it wrecks them. Ex: signis & gron, cogwork dancers, I don’t remember any more. Same with witch against bosses like bell eater

I just finished the 100% in 30 hours achievement. Thought it was going to take longer, finished in 16 hours and 40 minutes. This game is damn good

Signus and gron are a far worse fight if you do them in act 3, I unfortunately made that mistake and the void enemies kicked my booty to high heaven. Aside from that one experience and everyone's favourite fights in the beastflies, love this game too death and I enjoyed watching you play through it.

the boss that took me the most attempts by far was lost lace, at least 10 tries before i got it down
kinda surprised that you struggled on bell eater, imo was one of the easiest boss fights of act 3 other than plasmified zango/watcher at the edge

a certain type of enemy sometimes will NOT die, it will become effectively unkillable.
but i figured out that the key is to NOT use POISON on it, that will avoid the glitch.
I have 84% in this game and never figured out that you can break the lock so you don’t have to keep on paying to get back to the bench in pilgrims rest
