Also, my kit had some upgrades that were recently made by E-Racing from my understanding (key way on shafts and couplers) and also the 40x40 peices that connect the Surge Arm to the actual Rig Platform for me are 100mm from the base to the top. 20mm of that to get to the top of the surge platform heigh, leaving me with 80mm that connects to the Rig, so I can use 2 Single Brackets, or one 80mm wide one. Your videos have hands down given me so much insight into the design process, helped me create a close copy of yours and improve on a couple things I noticed. Thx again!
Well done. These are definitely more complex than most people think. Do you think adding a thin plate on top of surge for dust prevention and ease of getting on and off is a consideration? Thanks for posting. Rig is looking great!
I've received some of the kit but am still waiting for the actuators and controller. My rig is also 160mm on the base. How long did you cut the replacement 40x40's? I'm ordering profile and want to get what I need. Also, when you ordered M6 bolts to attach the rails, how long are they (I don't know how thick the rails are)?
@@simul8master The 40x40 aluminum profile that came with the kit to connect the surge bar to the sim rig frame - you mentioned that you used your own to lengthen the amount that was in contact with your TR160 frame because the pieces that came with the kit were pretty short. I took a guess and figured it was around 7 1/2 inches long.
The Linear rail holes are too small for any M6 standard bolt. Just got a new battery for my caliper and it's showing 9.3mm wide, and the bolts are 9.8mm wide (standardish). Now i'm stumped, I can't find any bolt that will fit. They mentioned they got some bad equipment for the surge platforms and I didn't think about it until now... I just emailed e-racing as 9.3mm is waayyy under standard size.
@@simul8master You also referred to 4080 instead of 40x120 in a video for one of the rails as well, hah! Either way, invaluable help in these videos. Trying to fly blind and order things before the parts get here so what do I expect. Metric is just such a pain in the ass to get relatively quickly down here.

Hi, may i ask what you changed.? I'm waiting for my eracing ultimate and learning a lot from your builds :) Thanks in advanced.
Thanks again for a the step by step. For the last part, where you extended the 2 40/40, could you let me know what that measures out to?
Hey I have a measurement video that should
Cover this. Let me know if that works for you.
Amazing, thanks again. Now it makes sense to me. The only thing that is screws keep coming loose with motion, do you use loctite ?
They wont come loose (at least not for me). Just make sure you use good screws and use nuts.

Thank you! Nah I don’t think, it’ll get even more crowded. I recommend cleaning more often and a small vacuum to hard to reach areas.
@@simul8master Thanks for the response. Looking forward to the TL!

I also have a video on here talking about the cuts. Not sure which replacement 40x40 you are referring to?

@@waltersheehey oh that - I will depend really on the height of your middle piece where the bar will connect to.
Please note these are m5 not m6. M5 x 20mm

That is surprising. M6 fits really well on mine. Try m5s or m4s.
@@simul8master Yeah, I just ordered some M5 T-nuts, just getting impatient, lol. Edit: E-racing confirmed they are supposed to be M5. All good.
@@simul8master I asked Alex if something changed. He just told me they are M5 not M6. Damnit.... Hundreds of dollars of nuts going back to Amazon.
@@dofmaster106 oh man. Maybe I messed up. I bought so many screws. These are probably the m5 20mm. I will need to correct the video.
