Thank you for your comments, he is a miserable 😞💩 don't listen to him , nothing beats the British sense of humour he needs to listen to himself and he sounds like he takes his misery with him. We are not happy because we are at the moments are being invaded in my opinion, and our GOVERNMENT are treating us as second class Citizens, the POLICE and the NEW PRIME MINISTER is putting women in prison for saying words they don't like. please do not listen to this miserable jerk he is just going to make you MISERABLE. 🇬🇧😁🤗🎉🙋🎉🎊🎈🎆🎶🌈🌟🍻🍹

UK transport infrastructure genuinely is shit compared to mainland Europe. Only 4 cities have an underground network and only 7 have trams and they only serve a few specific parts of town. The trains might be on time, but outside of London, they're not really useful for getting around within the cities and most neighbourhoods aren't in walking distance of a station so you often have to finish a journey by bus but for some reason you have to buy different tickets for bus and rail instead of carrying one ticket for everything and daily, monthly and weekly tickets are usually only valid on buses so you have to ration how much rail you use and stick to a specific journey instead of being able to just go and explore after school or at weekends etc.
Some Brits are paying over £1000 for a yearly ticket that can only be used between 2 specific train stations, while in Germany you pay €49/calendar month to use all bus, tram, underground, monorail and local and regional trains throughout the entire country and if you buy a single ticket, it's also valid on those modes in a specific area as long as you don't go back on yourself. In Luxembourg, bus, tram and trains are free to use and in Estonia, they're free for residents to use.
This makes the car the main transport option in the UK, making getting around a headache for anyone who can't drive, including all under-17s. Despite this, the main roads are usually surface raods with roundabouts, traffic lights and pedestrian crossings and a 30mph speed limit instead of grade seperated urban expressways with over/underpasses at junctions. Such roads mostly only exist as bypasses in the UK and aren't useful for journeys within the town and it can be frustrating to have to drive an entire journey across town on surface roads. The footpaths are narrow and there's no cycle lanes and drivers often get angry at pedestrians and cyclists.

The EU leaving was a terrible choice, and we’d be fucked if we ever went back as everything they campaigned the leave campaign on would become true. We’re no longer in a position of power to turn to Europe and say “okay but we want to vito any laws you put down”, we’d have to accept a much smaller role within the eu and have to abide fully by their laws. And most likely give up the great British pound as obviously that’s one of the rules. We’ll never do that as our economy is just banks basically

Things have declined, but so they have in the US, France, Germany unfortunately.
The weather in the UK is “better” than that of the Republic of Ireland and if talking about London, no different to Amsterdam, Brussels, etc…
Plenty of nightlife here in York. In fact drunk revellers are the moan, not lack of places to go.

I don’t recognise what he’s talking about. Everyone I know is happy with life and feel lucky to be from the UK. Maybe he’s just not happy with life.

I think he recorded this in the rain to make it look more miserable. Yes we get a lot of rain, but it 'sn't always raining, and I don't think things are as bad as he says they are.

11:18 "It's not a happy place to be."
There are several surveys conducted yearly that measure the "happiness" of countries. For 2024, the UK ranked #20 most happy. The US ranked #23. Finland ranked #1.
The Czech Republic #18, Lithuania #19, and Slovenia #21 all are "happier" than the US, according to the survey. (Source: World Happiness Report)
For all its wealth, the US is a pretty miserable place to be.

As a fellow Brit I completely agree with him when he says the British are masters of complaining but never actually doing anything about it. I'm sick of it too but since Brexit I haven't been able to move to mainland europe.

Wow, finished the vid now and he is a huge complainer himself, I get his point but he's what I would call pessimistic by nature. No country is perfect, sure many other countries have things I would probably like better but the UK has many benefits too.

I think it’s the presenter that’s miserable. Pity. To mash up an old English saying - miserable is as miserable does. A bit of detachment wouldn’t have gone amiss

Mmmm...life is ok really in the UK. Aspects of Britain though are very capable of p....g people off. For:..... beautiful countryside outside of the 'shitty towns' as quoted by the guy. We still queue....well most of us. We organise great state occasions amazingly well ( Army involved I guess). BBC still a well regarded media. Less corruption than most countries in mainland Europe. Police without guns. And generally polite and pleasant people.Good humour. Against.....Generally we can't organise a piss up in a brewery. Incompetence and waste extraordinarily high. This is the main misery creating aspect. Oh, and the roads are s...t! Regarding Brexit, we were better in, but unlikely to be accepted back.
Having said all that, your video commentator is a total whinger. A total negative. Most people in the world would appreciate living in Britain.

  • @nazimelmardi
    @nazimelmardi 11 дней назад +4

Well…. The Brexit is one of the reasons. The UK will pay the price that’s for sure. There are already fewer jobs thx to the Brexit alone. The trade is declining and that’s just the starting point. It was the “bank” of the EU, now it’s not, that is moving fast out too.

  • @JenMaxon

Oh I dunno - I don't think he's particularly wrong. I moved to Germany four years ago and am much happier here. He does sound overly pessimistic but the UK doesn't compare well to mainland Europe. Don't miss home in the slightest tbh.

Difficult to say, things are a lot more complex than is shown here, I expect many countries have problems we tend to wear it on our sleeves. complaining is a sort of coping mechanism and in general we tend to be reserved and modest which can look like pessimism.
Some things are pretty bad but its better to try o fix it then abandon it. Many people are too poor to emigrate and visa restrictions like job security and language can be a problem.
Ermm you may want to avoid Brexit other reactors have made the mistake and ended up with wars in the comments and dislikes. But going back in may not even be possible however there maybe work arounds. To answer you question more than 3 prime ministers in 5 years boris, liz and richie.

The trouble with the UK is we have too many illegal imigrants, that come across the channel on inflatable boats, they come as we are a soft touch, we feed and clothe them, give them money and put them up in hotels,we see our standard of living declining and the working class aren't happy about it, our previous and present governments are useless as they do nothing to stop them, we don't know who they are or where they come from, 70% are young males and some will obviously will be terrorists, which is a worry, and hopefully the next general election we will have a goverment who will sort this mess out, the main stream media in the UK is left wing and biased, and the BBC is one of the of all.
