Great video, so far nobody has actually explained the LEM completely. The tick is, that the hammer is two piece, each piece with it's own spring. When you rack the slide, only the lower part is cocked. The upper part follows the slide into a resting position. When you pull the trigger you will see the upper part move, just like the hammer on a double action pistol. However, because the lower part of the hammer is already cocked, the pull is very light. At the wall the upper part meets the lower part and both pieces break for the shot. Repeat.
I think the idea behind this long pull with a single action trigger weight is safety. On some "normal" single action pistols the take up is so short, that an accidental discharge can occur just by carelessly "resting" the finger on the trigger. The long pull on the LEM requires a willful movement of the trigger finger.

Love your content. I’ve got one that Bruce Gray is doing right now on the trigger side - same setup as yours: straight plus short reset. I went with the Wright Armory option because of the ability to use more optics in the future. I had Boresight do the texturing on mine. Thanks again!

      Thanks I really appreciate that.
Wright armory does great work! I had a P30 that they milled for me also. I also have grips from boresight solutions and again great work. I like the silicon carbide a bit better since my hands are quite callused but Ben’s work is hard to beat.

Sent my LTT P30 LEM (with GG short reset) to Rick Holm at Lazy Wolf for his MRAP package and it is nothing short of game changing.

Huge LEM fan. All my HKs are LEM. I have a pair of P30Ls from LTT with their extra light LEM and they shoot as well as my 1911s. It definitely takes time to adjust to the LEM take up but it’s such a great system it’s worth the extra effort.

Nice review, considering one of these. I had the regular LEM and the long reset really bugged me and slowed me down. I was OK with the long first pull.
How would you say the trigger pull weight is relative to stock? And which weight trigger did you order for yours? Thanks

    • @PrecisionDefensiveSolutions
      @PrecisionDefensiveSolutions 25 дней назад +1

I had a stock LEM & DA/SA version and I greatly prefer the LTT version. The reset means very little to me since I don’t pin the trigger and then release to the reset point. I let the trigger all the way out and reset while it’s recoiling. However the reset on the LTT is significantly better. I did the extra light springs yielding about a 3.5lbs trigger pull.

Very good video. I’m a huge P30 fan as well. I have a P30, P30L and P30sk, all LEM with the short reset. I also have another P30 with the flat trigger and a Lazy Wolf custom trigger job and a P30L Langdon. The Langdon I went with the light (not extra light) and wasn’t happy with it only because that flat trigger is so far forward that it felt weird to shoot. So I sent it to Lazy Wolf and he made it really nice, but it’s a bit light for carry. The P30 is amazing but even with the trigger job, the LEM is not the best for people who have a tendency to slap the trigger. I do sometimes, so I can typically run guns like a Glock much faster with accuracy. I did carry Glocks for my entire police career, but I still find the P30 to be harder to shoot fast with accuracy due to that long distance. I tend to carry my P30’s with the short reset only, much more than the ones with the flat trigger.

I have quite a bit more time with the P30 since I did this video. I agree about the long take up I am still struggling to get used to it.
Thanks for your insight and I’m glad you had a good experience with LWG but mine was so bad I can’t recommend them for anything.

@fearnonebutone4977 I need your help!! I have a P30L V3 DA/SA which I love, but I barely use it because I do not like the trigger that much. The reset is 1/4 mile lol. I was looking at the LTT trigger job + short reset system + flat face trigger and lighter hammer spring. But you are the first comment I see mentioning the awkward trigger position using the flat face trigger and that right there was something I was concerned with. (I do want it just for aesthetics, the OEM doesn't bother me at all) but, is it too uncomfortable? The other thing is, you have done both LTT and Lazy Wolf trigger jobs, which one do you like the most and why? Elaborate your response (college type of questions 😂) I saw that Grayguns also have trigger jobs for the P30 but have not researched about it yet. I would like to shoot it more but I always end up using two other glocks I have especially for the trigger and optic. I want her to be reliable and fast, what should I do?

      @@danielderz Daniel,
Let me address this a bit. There is only #1 aftermarket company that HK is working with directly and that is LTT. The work that LTT is doing on HK pistols is second to none in my opinion and I am talking about not only the P30. They are using the Grayguns short reset parts but are smooth as glass. I was going to do some videos at the HK booth at the Great American Outdoor Show I didn’t get a chance to because the booth was so busy.
I personally struggle with DA/SA pistols because of my index finger being to short to reach the trigger well and also deal with the weight of the pull. With the LTT work I can make it work without a problem. I suggest the light hammer spring though. The flat face trigger I think takes some getting used to for some people I know it did me to. I have never been a fan of flat faced triggers but I like the GG one that LTT is using.
As far as who should work on your gun, I ONLY and stress ONLY recommend Grayguns and LTT. LWG has proven to me multiple times why they are not the way to go. Including the phone call on super bowl Sunday at 8:30pm my time and kept me on the phone for over an hour over a video I ultimately removed even though it was a honest review. Don’t waste your time and money go to the best.

If you ever get the chance to shoot a Sig Sauer P226 or P229 you might think sbout selling this money pit.
I love my stock H&Ks. but a stock Sig P226 is on another level above the P30. Better quality, simplicity, accuracy, reliability. And it doesn't need to be shipped around the country, suck up $$$$$. Good luck, and sample some other designs. You might be selling another P30.

RDS. I think they're just the "flavor of the mmonth". the only people that might benefit are "shooting sports" competitors where gettinga 2 " groupings is important and possible. Other than that i don't see a point or need...for civilians nor for "duty".
If adding one to make your gun "tacti-cool" makes you happy...by all means....go for it11 :) Before this it was the "laser grips" by Crimson Trace (who are actually still around) heh...

More research on your subject before you spread.
Know what is the night sight material’s composition.
There are ten variants of the pistol. They are not interchangeable. LEM model is not available with a frame safety. Know and research your subject or don’t publish. Keep improving; don’t quit.
