Kartel/Ninebar/Diction. Southbound. I spent the duration of this split asking the Ducks, Gurgle, Jeeves, Bing, and the one other person in the room at the time what movie the opening sample came from. I didn't know if it was a young Christopher Walken, Jay Mohr, that guy from American Pie, or whothefuckever, but I was only slightly more annoyed at Ninebar's rapping and that weird, jazzy, sing-songy thing that pulled my attention back to what I was listening to.
Prowler. Strictly 3.5. Classic hardcore font! Okay, this I can get into. Juuuust metal enough to not be too hardcore. Hardcore lyrics word for word, but the vocals aren't JUST hollerin' and barkin'. A sample from The Crow in "Taken Away"? Well, well. This is moshing, slamming, stomping, bodychecking all the way to the finish.

The beige sweater that's half a size too small is a wild wardrobe choice. #YOLO I love that the first applause break is fourteen minutes deep and only happened that late because that was the first time he actually took a breath. "Moms used to look like cigarettes!" That was the quickest hour ever. Best closer for this single-concept special. What a force of nature.

Neal Brennan. Crazy Good. It does NOT feel like Blocks was two years ago. I was like, “New Neal already? It feels like he JUST started the Blocks podcast.” Anyway… He’s SO right about people in crypto. Loved the white ancestors bit, despite him being better than such a pedantic approach to white guilt. The sun being a cop at me is brilliance. “Killing v hard “r”ing” was also brilliant. Okay, I realized I was just naming every bit as brilliant, so I’m just gonna stop that. Sex jokes are sooo trite, but that comparison of female orgasms to waiting for an Uber made me legit belly laugh. Apparently, doom and gloom Neal can also be “regular” comic joker Neal too. Hell, yeah.
Katie Hughes. Double Feature. LOL "I don't have enough money to summer in the Hamptons, so I fall in the shower." is the perfect kind of cringy pun I'm here for. "Look at me now, I'm a full-grown Thomas man." Love me some delicious wordplay. Awesome closer. Yay, darkness!
Master Boot Record’s Internet Protocol album (maybe the one before it, honestly) was sooooo hyped, ballyhooed, dickrode, and promoted that I hate them on principle. Sweatpants Boner! The Minneapolis grindcore lords. Absolutely no hate there.
