I feel like the simplest way to understand this is as follows:
[Legend: (Meta) - The NOT in-game team, is composed of one pre-determined player from each in-game team. (In-game) - Rocket League's Orange vs Blue layout]
1. The teams are pre-made before the game, and these premade teams will be known as the (meta) teams
2. Each person from both (meta) teams joins opposite (in-game) teams
2.5. Both (in-game) teams are now composed of one player from each (meta) team
3. Your (meta) team gains a point if the name shown in the "____ scored!" is on your (meta) team
3.5. This can be done in two ways - Either (meta) teammate can score in the opponent's goal, like a normal rocket league game, OR if your (meta) teammate touched the ball last, then you scoring in your own (in-game) goal will still show your (meta) teammate's name, thereby gaining your (meta) team a point.
I know I said simple, but the key point is step 3 :)
The most confusing aspect of this is that unlike normal Rocket League, you have to remember the last person to touch the ball before you, and make an informed decision whether to defend your goal if it was someone on the other (meta) team, or to own goal if it was your (meta) teammate. Strategically, it is always safest for all 4 players to score into the (in-game) opponent's net as per standard Rocket League, but if you know that your (meta) teammate was last to touch the ball, you can get away with own goaling.
BRUTE FORCE RULES SPECIFIC TO THE FIRST GAME (read this if you don't feel like understanding and just want to memorize):
Meta teams: Leth and Lief, Guh and Danny
In-Game teams: Leth and Guh (Blue), Leif and Danny (Orange)
The four ways of scoring:
1. Leth (blue) scores in the orange goal - "Leth scored" (point goes to Leth and Lief)
2. Lief (orange) touches ball, ANY (blue) scores in blue goal - "Lief scored" (point goes to Leth and Lief)

even crazier than this, 3 people on each color but with different win conditions. There are 2 pairs of people who want to get the shared most goals, the other 2 people win if their color gets the most goals. So 3 people will win each round, one of the pairs and one of the color aligned people.

I think the way I'd try to improve this is possibly this:
-You get in a party with your true teammate
-There is a password protected match made
- Everyone joins with the gimmick.
That way the person with the party icon is your true teammate.
I dunno if this would work at all cuz I have no frriends. But the idea and video is hilarious don't get me wrong. I loved this.

Run this back in 3v3. I'd be curious to see how that plays out. The person that is the 1 on a team would have to hang back more as defense as the other 2 push...maybe? It would be a strange 1v1 inside a 2v2, but the teams don't matter and both goals are valid if passed right.
I suppose spawns would become a problem for kickoffs. But I have full confidence in there being a relatively easy solution for some one of your.... particular skills....
Could make it so the 1v1 is always the kickoff Or always one of the 2v2 but a toss up as to who.

Leth has ascended into confusion
This isn't just for Leth but anyone in particular, but I've been stuck in high gold for maybe 9-10 months now (obviously not usual), reaching plat in 2s and 1s a few times but never staying, does anyone have any tips? I know it might be hard since you've never seen me play but just try to think about what you do when you're stuck. I currently have 539 hours.
I have an idea for a map. 'Wall Ball' in which both goals are on the same wall. You spawn closest to the wall with the goals, ball spawns near back wall. Also, could configure it with 5 goals. 2 top corners, 2 bottom corners, 1 center. There would be 1 net for each team side by side one another in each of those 5 locations. Could allocate different point rewards for specific goals too & play with size of goals. Not sure if you've done this before, but randomly thought of it while watching this video. Anyways, I appreciate the content you put out & the creativity you have with these videos. Thanks & wishing you a happy wedding!

This would be an insane gamemode to have in actual rocket league, just change the scoreboard and spawns.
The explanation is confusing but after the first few seconds it made sense. It's also interesting because different skills are valued, stealing goals from your "teammates" is more valuable, and "passing" is more valuable.
Would be interesting to have a 3v3 game with this, or even worse/better, 4v4

What if you took this same concept, but you divided the field in quarters with walls and the ball could pass through but the players can't. Each person in a quarter to control the ball. I feel like it could possibly help make things more understandable with the concept but idk.

Me and my friends tried something similar in dropshots: 2v2, but in each colour there's one for each team. The difference was that we counted not by goals, but still with blue-orange teams, so if you are playing for team blue and your colour is blue then it's normal dropshot for you, but your teammate is on the orange team, so he wants to own goal but he can screw you over by accidentially preventing you from dealing damage or damaging your half.
you talking about watching the eggs got me thinking, like, whats the egg's pov? they walk into the stadium, eggspecting a totally normal game of classic rocket league and then.. they witness this chaos, understanding nothing, not hearing your coms... lol

Idk how involved it would have been, but I think next time (if there is one) have each team (the teams based on the rules here) use a decal that doesn't shift between team colors for clarity's sake. I was going to say "add a special character at the beginning and end of the teams in their usernames", but I know those get weird sometimes and wouldn't be super reliable.

Hey leth... this video gave me an idea.... what if you created some kind of imposter video.... My idea is you have a spinner with someones name. The name that gets picked is the imposter. The imposters roll is to help the other team win... The team that the imposter is on has to lose. BUT, the imposter cant get caught trolling/throwing the game. if they get caught, the imposter loses... You might have to spectate to be the spinner or have someone else spectate and be the spinner, just for anonymity.

Leth idea for you. A 1v1v1. Where there is only one goal and the other side is a blank wall. Everyone tries to score a goal in the one net and either last touch gets the goal or if possible have it where in order to score you have to have two hits in a row and that way there can be a single hit by any player trying to save and it won't steal the goal of who hit it 2x prior.
Hope that makes sense.
combine this with a version of rocket league where your teamate is throwing, so your teamate teamate on the other team NO matter what is trying to put it in their own net, you same, in your own net, but the remaining to players are teamates but they have to be 1v1ning their teamate teamate by trying to put it in their own net, but your actual teamate is on the other team, so its like a 1v1v1v1v1v1v1 but every other 1 is on a 2s team, so 1v2v1v2v1 where you have to get it in your net to win, but if your teamate own goals before you, you lose, same on the other team.

We played similar silliness with my brother - try to play dropshot but you can only score in your own net. Its super hard to create a hole.
You should do a mod where your opponents are on your goal side and you are on your opponents' goal side, for example, the orange team is on the blue side of the arena and the blue team is at the orange side of the arena.
