- FNAF Aftonbuilt - Aftonbuilt was a dark new take on the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise.
Following the events of FNaF 3, you play as The Mechanic, one of the engineers responsible for the upkeep of the attraction. After saving the main attraction from the blaze you find that the animatronic has been possessed with the spirit of the founder of Freddy Fazbears, William Afton. The Mechanic and Afton team up to continue his work, and build Afton a new body to walk amongst the living yet again.
The player is tasked with surviving four of the most harrowing locations in Fazbear history using only their wits, movement, and a set of handmade tools. Using these, the player will have to fight back, striking back against the monsters that hunt them using traps and the environment to corner and scrap them. All the while exploring these locations for the secrets that lay just beneath the surface.

It’s a pretty interesting game. Hopefully, they get enough support to make a full version of it. I would have more tutorial animatronics since Foxy was so difficult to deactivate.

I think this is what i want for the future of FNAF, free roam games with this dark setting and visual (don't confuse with gore or super depressing story). And it is still kinda cartoony, it's perfect!
Problem with free roaming games is that you can and thus it's less scary, take fnaf security breach for example

I love how Afton sounds really chill and reasonable when he's speaking through the tablet. It's actually a lot more realistic for his regular voice as often times real life killers aren't these crazy, maniacal monsters. Monsters, yes, but they usually sound and act pretty normal in their every day lives, so I like that little detail. Wish Scott would have picked this up and given it a proper budget. Would have been really cool to see this game finished.
Afton being chill and seemingly trustworthy makes more sense than him being a complete psycho all the time.
I saw " *NEW FNAF ATTRACTION* " and thought the " *Glitched Attraction* " was out! I guess not... But this is still fine and great to see!

got denied for being way out of fnafs league. looks great, some streamlining for controls, and maybe some Qol changes like multiple charges for the detonator, a stun pad replace for the standing light and a charging flashlight that can stun on the go. this game could be fantastic.

This reminds me of how I was gonna make a FNAF fangame of my favorite RUclipsrs and it had Fusion in it as Foxy, sadly it was cancelled because the person creating one of the characters gave up.

I’m about 18 minutes in and I really hope that even though Scott isn’t funding it that they continue with making the game. If they make a site or something where we can donate to the making of the game I would 100% do that.

@@Shrump Kickstarter removes material that is compliant with DMCA takedowns. That's what their website says it aslo goes into a little more detail but i think that's the important bit.

Holy shit, I think this *the coolest* fnaf fangame ive seen yet. Most games just go the route of fnaf-like gameplay which is fine but its really cool to see something completely new. You can really tell that there's a lot love behind this project what with the designs and lore. Foxy in particular is really cool. It reminds me of the 'beasts' from the movie 9 (Shane Acker), one of my favorite films. I also really like that they didn't give the animatronics dumb names like most FNAF fangames do. It's not "mangled Foxy" or "Scrap Foxy", its just this large mechanical beast hunting you down. It adds to the mystique that makes FNAF interesting and scary. I also really like what they did with William. He isn't this deep-voiced maniacal killer, he's almost normal sounding despite who he is. He murdered all of those kids, caused all of that suffering and he's just fine with it. It really makes him feel more like a real person, which is quite scary. And the creator(s) managed to really capture that style of humor that fnaf is loved for. I really really really hope this game gets completed.

so by the looks of it this is coming right off of the ending for fnaf 3 because they called the burning location Fazbear Frights, and they pulled out a William Afton that had been separated from it's lower torso and legs, which would fit the plotline

Wow, it's actually pretty cool to see the story board, I would LOVE to see some proof of concept demos at this stage for indie games that got big. Just to see the difference.
I like the eyes on the ARPad (Hand Unit). They move accordingly with Afton's speech so well. With the work put into it, this definitely would've made a great fan game.
I love the voice chosen for William Afton. He sounds normal, inviting and friendly... like a spider luring you into its web. Then he mentions the whole "controlling life itself" then you begin to realize the Faustian bargain you're entering in.

I generally think the reason why Scott didn’t put this game in the fanverse was because it barley had anything to do with classic fnaf game play,
Then again SB was a free roama
SB felt more like TJOC-style FNAF Freeroam while this game is kind of more reliant on a mission type system. From the description on Gamejolt it would've been really massive and that is probably why it never saw the light of day.
One night at Flumpty's 3 technically has barely anything to do with fnaf accept for the fact that it's a fnaf fan game and also that you have to survive 'til 6 AM
From a business point of view it's a very ambitious project so there's a chance the game will be scrapped and no business animdude wants to waste money, then again it would've been on a contract
TJOC is barely classic FNaF gameplay, the closest you have to that is being confined to a room during the Story Mode. Otherwise its all free roam

I honestly think it's a brilliant new style for the FNaF Fanverse. Maybe it shouldn't be released at the start, since there would still need to be time to gauge reactions and see the overall performance of the Fanverse Initiative, but it certainly could've earned a spot if the Fanverse project was ever expanded on with new games.

@@FastBoxGaming Scott allowed them to increase the scope of the project too much which led to lack of polish and cut content, and the censorship thing isn't even confirmed. Scott even described the issue before the game came out calling it like a "cake with more layers being added"
. I see no reason as to why he'd turn this beautiful fangame down.

Noted some interesting things from this on my own time:
1: Foxy is an AI controlled character meaning he can be out-smarted (which can cause bugs if treated wrongly) oh and be careful out smarting him, he can fall if he wants to (happened to me).
2: with the current movement, you can slide around with shift and c. Foxy also is NOT a wolf in this, he is just big for intimidation purposes from the creator i believe? anyway back to some other actual info
3: even if you get bit, your health regenerates over time. i lasted an hour and 40 minutes, getting bitten at least 10 times or more from him. not once did i die.
4: there are hiding spaces in the trench, and other such areas
5: i taught foxy to climb on my end... so yes he can climb slopes... he's just clipping and walking on air at the same time doing so.
6: be careful if your going to try and "Flash Loop" him. it tends to break his AI causing the error (also leads to him sliding ocassionally)
Best Tip?
Have foxy chase you to a scooper that you have ready, *DO NOT USE ANY FLASHES*. Wait for him to get close enough to bite you, and he's standing in front of the scooper (try not to be too close to it, i have *NOT* tried to see if it will damage you), and then left click. And there is your free passed out fox.
I haven’t seen the full video but I’d definitely love to see more of this game!

I really like games like this, the complexity of defeating the animatronics and finding secrets is always fun. Even though there are bugs seeing a finished concept of this would be amazing. I could understand why scott didn't approve of this, sorta.
I mean there's wackier elements to FNAF, but adding a third party that is reviving Afton from the dead seems a little out of left field... and the seemingly smpathetic (or sinister manipulator, who knows) Afton after being an undead killer monster is another thing entirely.

Before watching the full video: I think the fangame got rejected because the character (at least in the storyboard) looks cartoon with those eyes, gives me Special Eyes vibes that cosmetic from TF2 for both The Pyro and The Engineer, plus the story is kinda weird (just by looking at the initial cutscene)
I'm in 12 minutes of the video and the game so far gives me a Portal vibes with the hand unit acting like Weathly
Now i'm 18 minutes on the video and i kinda notice why the game got rejected, too many tools to work with, at least in my opinion is too much for a simple robot bear that screams

Hm. Yeah, still a bit rough even for a pre-alpha. The boltcutters didn't trigger completion, the spacebar didn't work, and the mechanics of the traps are still pretty rough. Still impressive, but needs more work.
I wish Scott never denied this game, it looks really good, can't wait for the full release!

I can see why it was rejected, the gameplay looks janky and like it doesn’t really flow, I know it’s a proof of concept but if this was their main idea (not talking about it story wise since that actually seems really cool I’m talking about game play) it needs to go back into the drawing board
