Saly is a beautiful beach town just about an hour from the heart of Dakar. With this video, I wanted to showcase the forgotten workers who make this place sustainable for the tourist to enjoy. I hope you have enjoyed my personal take of this popular place in Senegal. If that's the case, please don't forget to hit that like 👍and share the video as well for the word to get out. Many thanks!
I'm on my 4th trip to Senegal soon. Thanks for the exposure to one of our beautiful motherland countries.. I encourage all to come to Senegal. I will reach out for your drone man..he does an excellent job
Wow, great video Ivain. It was sad that he said he was waiting on white people but, once he explained, I understood why he said it. I've never hear of Saly. Thanks for sharing with us.
@41:30 😩See, this is what we need to work on. This negotiation thing that many brush off as part of our culture...even if it is part of our culture, it's not for others. Folks on vacation don't want to negotiate "fun activities" it's a turn off. When you visit tourist sites/shops etc in Europe or the States the prices are set and listed. We need to think long term (return clients) no one wants to be hassled on vacation.
Did you get to taste their Jollof rice? If you did, what is your verdict? Nigeria vs Ghana vs Senegal. By comparison how did it taste? Joking of course! Or maybe not. Really interesting video.
Am as senegalese as can be but 2 be honest this has been the most pathetic horse s… I heard about the called marabouts. This is nothing but mind control!
First Djolof rice IS originaly from senegal what alot of people dont know...Djolof IS wolof ,senegalese word...so obviously WE have the original Djolof rice...but all africans are welcome to copy it from senegal🙂...oh i forgot if you dont believe what i Say Google it😂😂..."Djolof"
Ivain, whats good man? Hope you are well, and as always, love to watch your videos. I do have a question for you though. Were you legit surprised when the brother from senegal said that he was tired of sex tourism, which is a phenomenon that exists all over africa, and people thought that slavery was over with. It is not over, just switched format. More mental than it was before, and the physical abused is still the same except that we get paid now and no whips being cracked on our backs. You also raised a good issue while inviting africans to visit Africa. Think of all the difficulties that you encountered just to film and promote Senegal? What Wode Maya went through while visiting many african countries. It is ridiculous that we have to have visas to travel within the continent, and every time you cross a border, they give you hell. Until those leaders decide to change their ways and really work on promoting their countries, africans will still seek to leave the continent, at least for those who can afford it, the rest, they just cant afford to do so.
Thanks a lot for watching. I appreciate your feedback. Was I surprised by his comment? No! I was just surprised to be honest. I know it does exist but it didn’t release it was rampant. Also, in regards to visiting Africa, we can’t give up on our continent just because of the difficulties. We have to keep going and fighting. It’s hard but it won’t change unless we keep fighting. I stay positive and I hope that it will get better.
@IvainTures always brother. Its easier for us living abroad to come back and spend time visiting our continent, but for the locals who dont have any money, its hard. As a matter of fact, i am taking some friends with me to cote d'ivoire in oct of next year. I think you should come back and hang out with us man lol
100,000 fcfa for a 2-hour pirogue trip... he doesn't give a damn about the world, it's more a local minimum wage and he wants to earn that in 2 hours, even the pirogue doesn't justify the extra cost... then they wonder why there's no-one there? the guy prefers to do nothing all off-season rather than lower the rates to a reasonable price, he can't complain... it's a rip-off, me in the country (cote d'ivoire, a fresco) I hired a pirogue and his piroguier for 6 hours for 10 000 fcfa and it was very beautiful in the mangroves and I didn't even haggle, moreover he cooked us the products of fishing that we all shared and tasted together. in any case, it's a commercial error not to display prices, ‘white people’ (because they're the ones who are taken for pigeons to be plucked) are not fooled and they don't come back and then share on social networks and other sites giving bad marks and unfavourable comments... you have to know what you want, you go to asia and you make the difference there's no photo! To be clear, when I say ‘minimum wage’, I'm actually talking about 2 hours of canoeing at double the monthly minimum wage (209 CFA francs per hour). Minimum wage levels The hourly rate for non-agricultural workers (SMIG) is 209.10 CFA francs per hour, while for agricultural workers (SMAG) it is 182.95 CFA francs per hour.

Soo, if you fart after taking a shower, you have to take another shower if you want to be protected from the curse of a marabout??? 👀 …….. 👁️👁️
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😁🤣
No, and that is not what he said
@@YummaM - Suit yourself. You obviously was NOT listening closely.
Sorry Ivain, I wouldn’t go to a show where someone curse Spiritually. It doesn’t align with my Christian beliefs.
I respect that. I was just curious!
It was too long for that explanation, talk about the positive side instead. These are everywhere in the 🌎
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
