hi I am looking for a microphone/device that can record conversations quickly in unfamiliar languages and send that into a earbud (hopefully not having to wear both). when the ear buds aren't on/open. to save the conversations written and then also translated for later study. I work in a environment that now has a lot of Spanish speakers. { I speak English and can only follow a small percentage of what they say}. but I don't have the time to set up clunky translators with multiple steps. but I also don't want something that will read out loud the translation after { if its not needed}. the listen and play and media translation looks cool but is there a way to save those conversations for studying and also have only one ear bud in so i seem more approachable when i do want to listen. would love to have something quick to use for my sassy Spanish speaking friends so I don't look like a monolingual goof.
This would be great help for journalism. But I believe we are still some years away from the technology that is able to interpret the same language spoken by people from very different walks of life. Especially the elderly. This will certainly work fine in the clear-cut, office meeting enviornment I am sure.

I expect that in some ten years, the lag will be minimal, and the translation will be in the person's natural voice.
10 years 😂 probably one year, or just their next version. There’s a lot of ai translators for video already doing this.
I hope they update it with natural sounding voices.
