I sing and have a vocal range of G#2 - D7. I have a pretty mixed voiced type and versatile voice. My main issue i struggled with was confidence and fear of sounding bad. It took me months of singing in secret before i could sing aloud with ppl around. Im only 6 months into my journey and ive noticed MASSIVE improvements. Soon i stopped being scared of singing bad, i sang good. I had a little confidence set back but my fathers never been supportive of anything ive done. My fiancé encouraged me to continue and said she wont let me stop. Good music is a universal language.

@@pal999 Yeah but I can't hold those notes for extended periods of time. I can reach them for few seconds to hit a certain noe but it's not a comfortable singing note. I have a powerful voice and I've always mimicked sounds and made sound effects as a kid, lol. So when I started singing I started by mimicking other singers, their style, techniques, sound, all of it. Which gave me an opportunity to try out many different styles and Genre's and find which suits my voice type best. But I love all music so I sing anything I know the lyrics to, lol

I fuxking love this guy. He's one of my favorite singing coaches online. 😊
I used to sing when I was younger. I quit for a long time. Then I started singing in the car again not too long ago. And to say I was rusty is an understatement. Like literally my vocal chords probably had rust on them lol. Anyways. I forced a lot. I think I hurt my voice a bit...coz after a while I didn't sound the same. And I got worse. Lost some abilities I had prior to butchering my vocal chords. So I quit doing that. And now I really try to warm up before I try singing and just try to drink water and do what I can to prepare to sing. I still have a long way to go I think before I get my voice back...my real voice. I'm really quite sure I did some damage. I was trying to teach myself to scream too...which I think took a toll as well haha. So now I'm like not even at square 1...square 1 is like way down the way in the distance. I'm at like square -50 lol. Anyways. Here's hoping I can help get it back, if not improve even more so than my low standard... using only youtube videos lol. 😊

These warm ups are great ! The lip trills are fun and good for opening up the lungs too and helping the diaphragm control the deep breath you take … it’s my favorite one I think it helps me the most and the nay nay

Take a very deep breath before doing it and really blow it out aggressively cause you're gonna lose the trill if you kinda just blow normally

I am a lyric tenor. Lighter tone quality. Out of practice. Get hoarse after 1 or 2 songs in choir. Going to try 15 minutes a day or more drills. Need to sing lower and louder, want more "edge or core" to my voice. Will practice with posture and support. Had 3+ years of lessons a few years ago. It is tough to compete with those with dramatic and loud voices. I expect drills to help with what i want. Your explanations are great! Thank you for posting these. May drill some while driving, may get funny looks too!

Word of advice to newer vocalist, if you have a cold and have an audition, don't tell them you have a cold. Never point out flaws in your voice. Because in some auditions they dont know what your voice sounds like. And may not even notice a cold in your vocals.
