Hi !! I’m Michaels dad (really). I’m enjoying your 5SOS content. Are you seeing them on the upcoming Nth America tour? Let me know if help needed.. They’re way better live than their digital stuff
I want to believe that you are his dad. So, in case you are, Nathan, I really want to interview the band or anyone from it for our channel. We want to talk to them about how two middle-aged dads have experienced the journey with 5SOS reactions and now fandom. And yes, we are seeing them live in Toronto, Canada in August 2023. Is there an email I can reach you at? Is this legit? Either way, I am glad you're enjoying our content, and you should be proud of your son. - Ryan
Welp, Ryan and Nathan are the absolute best! They are honest in their opinions and love their sense of humor! It has been an awesome journey for them discovering the band. An interview with the boys would be a dream come true for them! I'm excited for them getting to go to their first 5 SOS concert and I can't wait to hear about their adventure after! So happy you are enjoying their content!
Here are my thoughts about the earlier albums. On the first one you can really tell that they were just starting and still teenagers. The second album then also had some similar songs but mixed in it are actually some really great songs (maybe even some of their all-time best) BUT if you listen to it you have to listen to the deluxe version (the normal version isn't even available anymore in most places fortunately) since the deluxe really mixes it up. It is also one of the only deluxe versions where songs aren't tagged on but actually put in between the original songs on the track list which makes this in my opinion a very well paced album. And the production is by the way amazing still (especially the drums which might be the best produced they have ever done for a live-drum sound) So, yeah. Sounds Good Feels Good Deluxe is an instant recommendation
This is the first album I was in the 5sos fandom for the release of the singles. It is still one of my favourite albums ever, not a single song I don’t like because the few I wasn’t sure about grew on me with every listen 😂
for me the lyrics "i wanna hold your hair when you drink too much, and carry you home when you cannot stand up" dont mean literally doing those things to your partner but they mean more in a "i wanna be there for you even in the not so great times" and so when he says "you did all these things for me" this is how i see it, that she was there for him in his rough times and he wants to do the same for her
I discovered 5SOS with this album and played it on repeat with my roommate when we were in quarantine in 2020. It is still my favorite album of the band although very very underrated 👀 No shame is clearly one of my favorite all-time song from them! Lyrically it is so much better than Youngblood and I think 5SOS5 would have never existed if it wasn't for CALM.
i barely remember hearing this album for the first time (i remember each release of the singles very well and my reaction to each single but no idea for the entire album haha) for the entire album i just remember being otudide int he garden the entire lockdown with the album on repeat like literally everytime the weather is nice now and im outside in my garden i think of CALM thats how much i listened to it for weeks haha and now whenever any of the CALM songs comes on i feel like its warm spring and im outside in the sun in my garden absolutely love that album
Really sucks that the Youngblood album got blocked. Really loved your reaction to 5SOS5. In my opinion, CALM is an instrumentation masterpiece. As much as I love Luke's vocals (especially his falsettos), I wish we heard more of the other members (and yes we did got a whole Calum song with Wildflower but still). Easier Live from the Vault is the superior version, the studio version is too Charlie Puth for me. Easier is the only song on CALM not written by the band. Lover of Mine is one of my favorite 5SOS song of all time and my favorite on CALM. If you hear someone doing backing vocals, it's usually Calum. But on CALM, Ashton is actually doing a lot of the backing vocals. This album is very Beatles, with all the harmonies and the ah/oh/etc. High, especially is very Beatles. High does work very well as a closer but there is a bonus track called Kill My Time, you should definitely listen to it. You keep mentioning The Edge but he is not credited on CALM but you are right, I read some articles and he did some guitar work on "Best Years". Michael is credited as lead guitarist. Andrew Watt is credited as guitar on most of the tracks including 7-10 (Best Years, Not in the Same Way, Lover of Mine, Thin White Lies) and Happy Perez on tracks 7, 9 & 10. PS: On the other writers and producers credited on CALM: a lot of them, especially Ali Tamposi/Andrew Watt/Matt Pauling (who is a good friend of 5SOS) have collaborated with the band on their previous albums.
We need another album where its all Luke. It makes them more solid. I dont know how to explain it really, but he is something special. I hope 5SOS6 will be Luke singing 99%. I know he sang like 80% of 5SOS5 but it just feels more "complete" like a full band when its him singing basically all.
I've always thought the chorus of Thin White Lines sounds A LOT like Cry Me a River by Justin Timberlake and i remember the first time I listened to the album, when it came out, i went to look up if they actually sampled it because of how obvious it was to me, but apparently not 🤷🏽♀️ I just can't not hear it, they perfectly line up

Hi!! I had a good time listening CALM with you. Thanks! Just so you know: Sounds good feels good really deserves an entire reaction.

i really really love how you react to albums…i wish you can do their other two earlier albums just so you can see their evolution as musicians

5sos5 is an indie record, Youngblood was major label. Might be why Youngblood got blocked but 5sos5 didn’t.

The skin flute OMG! 😂
