This is absolute genius! I've always made it in compost bins and heaps before but even though I keep them well fed, it's a long process. This is so quick and as I practice no-dig both in my garden and on my allotment, this is the perfect way to make the compost exactly where I need it. Uh, no. And that's the misleading part of this video that the author admits he didn't create anything that resembles proper compost. In his own words, he created something that might be usable only as mulch for two reasons... First, that significant amounts of the pile did not decompose completely, and secondly his ingredients only contained mostly Nitrogen so the result is missing Potassium and Phosphate. Maybe the result could be used for a plant that requires only Nitrogen but wouldn't be a very good soil amendment for a wide variety of plants.

Ive seen some folks use dark plastic bins or even metal cans to trap the heat in but havent tried these yet. Im anxious that those materials might leach dangerous chemicals into the soil? Most afforable plastic containers get brittle and break apart with exposure to the sun similar to plastic plant pots. Whereas most metals might break down with prolonged heat and water exposure/rust etc... Anyone have thoughts on this or alternatives that might still have that heat capture effect without those potential risk of contamination? Thanks for the video & any gardeners ideas on this ^_^

Hello and thank you so much for this video. I never knew that sugar accelerates the process! Can you tell me if each day, after turning the compost, do you use the sugary mix or fresh to water it daily?
P.S. I also love how your beautiful little family is involved in the garden!
Hiya, it depends on how fast the pile is breaking down if it needs a push add more sugar, i did a follow up explaining some common questions ruclips.net/video/fDttB4uSQms/видео.html
Thank you brother.. Jazaka allho khayran... I will try to make all these steps as soon as possible.. Greetings from Morocco...
Thanks for doing this video. Comes in handy at the moment as I can't get as much compost as I need
It's one of the reasons I've been experimenting more on trying to make quick compost and rationing compost. Good luck

Tonight I created a compost bin from 2` chicken wire around 4 post. Approximately 3`x4.5`. Looking forward to some rich compost next year! Bonus, I even got my daughter to help! 😊
This video's absolutely fantastic Monty this has really helped me out as I want to start to make my own compost in the future
Glad it was helpful!
I love it! Have been researching for hours - all was very complicated, you had to have an extra machine to break the material down, need lots of space to store it - you solved all these problems. Brilliant! :D Thank you.
sugar, i have never heard of anyone saying this, but it makes sense. Thank you! =)
Worms and bacteria ultimately feed off sugar so it's a good way of giving them a boost
Thanks for the tip about using molasses water. I'll give it a try on my compost pile, my tumbler, and the garden itself.
Thanks for info! I never knew u could make useable compost so fast! Ill be back tomorrow.
I like experimenting with different methods, i developed this to help those that can't get hold of compost
I've saved this video for my own reference purposes it's so good. I'll come back to it every few months just to remind me👍🙂
I liked the idea of chopping pieces of cardboard smaller and bagging it using the lawnmower, that’s going to save me a lot of time
