Für immer is a rock classic, period. I love how they played the pitch wheel on the tape recorder on the intro. Neu 2 is a quirky album and that's why I love it. They even recorded drums on a cassette deck for a more gritty feel on other tracks of the album. You can't get more punk than that. Proto-punk at its best. Another work of art by producer Conny Plank, my idol. If I'd list my list of albums by Conny Plank that altered my world I'd be typing for months. He's up there with guys like Phil Spector, Brian Wilson, George Martin, Quincy Jones, Scott La Rock and Teo Maceo.
(i assume that you speak spanish) ¿Sabes que se acaba de estrenar un documental sobre Conny Plank? Co-dirigido por su hijo Stephan se llama "Conny Plank: The potential of noise"
Thank you so much for this post, Groenland Records. The first place I heard this classic is on RUclips! Why didn't we have this shit 25 years ago? LMFAO
Danke Neu!❤
I tried this on drums and only got about 3 mins in, it's Incredible how Dinger could go the full 10. The music coming out of Germany at this time is groundbreaking so thank god for Bowie's Kraftwerk tribute or I would have never been able to hear these masterpieces.
Neu!, Can, Cluster, Amon Duul II, Agitation Free, Out of Focus, Klaus Schulze, Guru Guru, Harmonia...endless gold from late 60s and early 70s Germany. Not a German act, but if you want some real face melting music, go to Pärson Sound.
the sound of immanent nature unfolding right in front of you. like a long cosmic waiting-stasis that fulfills infinitely through blissful moments. premeditated joy rumbling in its immediacy. sorry for the new age phrasing. hope some of the words and meaning may hit a core.
This is a nice articulation of it. It’s movement and stasis in unity. As everyone is saying. There’s something infinitely compelling about this totally repetitive song.
A brief conversation with a friend of mine, listening to this while cruising the highway at night: Her: "...So when do they start singing?" Me: "THEY DON'T." Her: "They don't?" Me: "SIE TUN ES NICHT." Her: "...Good. Lyrics would ruin the vibe."
Ah now don't be fooled into thinking the rest of the album will be as good as this, it's not, this is brilliant whilst the rest of the album is almost unlistenable.

Neu are one of my fave bands from the German scene at this time, I prefer them to Kraftwerk... but I would recommend Kraftwerk 2 - Kling Klang is a great track.
They did! Drummer Stephen Morris listed NEU! as a massive influenced and even took part in covering Hallogallo for a 50th anniversary re-release of NEU! (1972)
Neu! is no proto punk. It's a description of senses and impressions of industrial workers in between the machines and with these sounds with overtones, hard rhythms and dreams which creates in our brains. I think they got impresset by factory and road sounds.
repetition is a form of change

Masterpiece of timeless music.
The perfect soundtrack to riding the U-bahn on a balmy October evening.
it is nearly time...... :)
Ok, this is the blueprint for so much rock and funk and EDM and whatever that came after.
Für IMMER Liebe und Glück. Für IMMER!!!

Klaus Dinger was a really great drummer.

Neverending melodies from Neu!
Ich liebe dieses Lied
This is anothet brilliant track by a great german band
Lieber Honig and Hero might be my favorite ones though.
Für Immer was my first contact with the music of NEU!
Got to LOVE them afterwards!
This album was my entry point as well. From there to Neu! and then to Neu! 75...mind blown
Thank you for making this available on line
Utter brilliance
Everything that Neu makes flows like a river, with endless melodies in motorik sound.
Sublime...legend...Great krautrock...Neu!!!

Für immer = Forever
Makes sense, maybe it's about God and the dawn of time to an extent.
Would love to hear more tracks . Excellent musicians.

Dingers drumming is so monotonous it’s brillant !
Sonic Youth sound was already in this song. Amazing classic. One of the best band of all time. ❤

One modern band comes to mind that wouldn’t exist without this - DIIV

Klaus y Michael llegaron a una profunda verdad para hacer esta obra de arte

How good an LP would it have been with this on one side and Hallogallo on the other, with each lasting for 25 minutes!
That's exactly what I want!
Here here, there would be no better music to accompany those tracks on a long drive, other than Autobahn.
Exactly that is what they should have done
@@muddysoul5544 The long version of Autobahn, of course, and the other side of that album would be a 25-minute Krautrock from Faust.

I'd love to hear an orchestral version of this. it'd be like a modern-day Ravel's Bolero.

I didn't know there was a Sonic Youth called Neu! before Sonic Youth.
And Sonic Youth and NEU! greatly influenced DIIV. An amazing endless loop that just keeps on giving
Who is Sonic Youth?
Loop did this formula pretty exact....
Proto-post punk. Joy Division must have listened to Neu! and been inspired somewhat by their sound.
Both are amazing bands and my favorites!!!

Neu! - '75
Cluster & Eno - S/T
D.A.F - Gold Une Liebe
Moebius/Plank/Neumeier - Zero Set
Whodini - S/T

In my opinion, their best live ! I can't stop watching it.
They also influenced Stereolab quite a bit.
