While I’m not super familiar with all these models I feel like one important category is missing…SAFETY! These are family haulers and safety features should be a high priority. How many airbags? Are crash ratings available? Do they have Automatic Emergency Braking, collision warnings, blind spot monitoring, etc… Great review otherwise! Saw Caco at the BMW dealership the other day taking out the iX for a spin, looking forward to that review.
Can't believe I'm saying this because I love Caco and this channel but this Comparo felt like a setup for the HRV to win right from the start. You just feel it. Also, they reviewed the HRV when it came out and the tone of that review is so much different to what he was saying here. Also if you actually know the PH market, no way are they settling for a subcompact crossover if they had a 1.6M budget for a car.
Autodeal is really out here comparing a 1.6M car to others ranging from 1.1-1.3. You don’t need a comparo to know which one would come out on top. That’s fucking common sense LMAO
@AJ RVRight. But like I said, it kinda doesn’t make sense if you compare a model priced almost half a million pesos higher than the price points of the competitors in this comparo. It is obviously(or at least it should!) going to come out on top. I think this compare should not have been “turbo”-wise, but rather “price-point”-wise, where it would be the base variant of the HRV that will be included. Or, he could also have compared the HRV Turbo to the Toyota Corolla Cross and maybe the Mazda CX-30. But that’s just me.
same thing with malaysian/indonesian reviewers. when the new HR-V arrived, the setup was all biased against coolray. could it be same thing happening here?
Ah, the Mazda CX-30 or the CX-5? IF HR-V will be pitted against the new CX-5 Turbo AWD, then HR-V will eat dust (but it's more expensive.) But CX-30 will surely be unable to hold a candle to that Civic engine.
Edit: As @smirkinggoku5435 pointed out, the video is a comparo of turbo variant subcompact crossovers, so my comment is irrelevant to the discussion as I didn't realize the "turbo only" note. Leaving the comment here for the sake of keeping a transparent edit history. Was hoping the comparo would look at the HR-V S, not the V. The V variant is priced at 1.6m, which is way above the price range of the other models included (
And again, as Cacao mentioned.. if price is the most of your concern.. then definitely have the HR-V V Turbo last on your list. That’s why he gave it a 1pt. Gets???

Maybe just me but I also consider the after-sales aspect when deciding to buy a new car. And that includes the integrity, professionalism, parts cost and availability, technical expertise of the casa that I would deal with several times after I bought the car. Also, maybe petty, is the AFTER-sales customer service. Sure it varies from casa to casa but I'm sure their the general level of management, brand culture and standards would still manifests on their customer service. For example, I generally find Honda service centers (I have dealt with two - Alabang and Makati) more professional and competent than Hyundai service centers (I have dealt with two also - Alabang and Las Pinas) that I'm more inclined to choose a Honda than a Hyundai, other factors being the same of course.
I just recently got my Coolray, and believe me when I say that I don't regret an inch. Comfort, Tech, and the 3 modes where you could go- Normal (Yellow), Eco (Blue), Sports (Red). And not to mention the LED light strips on doors where the light depends on what mode you are in. With only 1.26M, plus the interior which has something that is supposed to be in a 2M car, has already been included. The manual? you could change the gears on the steering wheel like a sportscar. The theme of the car is really good with people who loves sports and comfort at the same time.

Honda was always been a reliable brand, performance wise and space management, however the pricing is so high, to my opinion i think the Geely won, cause the value you get from a price point is so much bigger, i m really sad to see Ford loses in driving and engine performance, indeed the engine was so loud and aggressive, therfore Ford is just an overrated brand, I'd personally vote for coolray as a winner, and it'd ve been so much better if you told us what was Driving mode there were in, so to conclude. in the PH market, i think the Coolray is on top, cause of it s performance, design, material, tech, and it's price, it's really a cool car to get, i'd love to sre them adding vent AC at the back and add the android and Apple to the infotainment system, in the future, that way, even if the price got slightly higher, it would be the best car out there to get compared to the other 3,.
It has air vents under fronts seats (sadly no wat to retract the air towards you) And Info tainment can be modded to support android auto/apple carplay. It has also the biggest screen and most responsive infotainment in all 4. Propriety thing lang kaya di sila naglalagay nung apple/android by default

07:41 if the box is too heavy, you can always open it before putting it inside of the trunk/cargo space. Remove the contents, then put the empty box inside the trunk, then put the individual items back inside the box. When you arrive home, take the contents of the box straight to the kitchen. There's a high probability that you just came from the supermarket. After you empty the box, spread it open and use it to cover the windshield while parked somewhere else. At least that's what I would do.
Shouldn't MG have been represented by the HS Trophy instead of the ZST? It's in the same ballpark size-wise + price-wise and it also has a turbo. The ZST, notwithstanding its bang-for-your-buck value, would probably be better off being compared with smaller crossovers, in my humble opinion.
Eco mode doing speedtest on GCR and Normal in HRV. put both in Sports and well see who gets it. i Tried both and Coolray beats all others. downside for coolray is if it gets damage you need to wait for more than a year to be repaired and for parts.
After this comparo and previous review I'm now considering HRV turbo variant ofcourse tho some people said that the geely was on eco mode but I guess the reason behind is to simulate normal driving with a bit of overtaking. I was eyeing for coolray but I've seen discussion about it's DCT transmission e.g. response from full stop. My ranking based from the comparo: 1. HRV 2. Coolray 3. Territory 4. MG ZST
Eco is the weakest in the selection but as for me I use comfort mode for all the pleasure of driving. Imagine at Eco mode it still very responsive how much more in comfort or sport mode.
@AJ RV rolling start definitely coolray vs sir but from a full stop sibak talaga. You should check ramon bautista's channel and see what I'm talking about. Btw no hate on any car brand or model whatever posted is just an opinion.
Any comparisons with the MG HS? Kind of choosing between HS & Territory at the moment. As per some people, the Territory eats a lot of gas, & the issue of the HS (going uphill slowly) is pretty typical with its provided transmission, & takes some time for the user & the car to get used to Just wanted to confirm.
I think it would be fair if you had use the sport mode ( Red color display) for coolray since the Eco mode (Blue display) is the weakest as it signify Eco-nomical. Putting selection on sports mode will push your head on the seat by sudden accelleration. So for me the Coolray is the winner for all the qualities.
That Coolray is almost at par with the acceleration time with the HR-V and to think, it was in Eco mode, now what if it is in Sport Mode, that HR-V could have eat the dust of the Coolray haha
There's a big difference in acceleration in eco and comfort (normal) mode in Geely Coolray. A bit unfair using eco mode for coolray. You could have also choosen to put it in Sports mode if you're testing just for acceleration.
As a previous owner of a 2020 Honda Civic LX Sport, I can say everytime I put it to sport mode there is a bit of a lag. Now as owner of the 2022 Geely Coolray Sport, as far as I can say having owned/ driven both, If I am driving both at a traffic light and the signal drops green, I can assure you my Civic will eat my Coolray's dust if its a battle of Sport mode vs Sport mode.
True, but what I am pointing out is the response regardless of turbo or non turbo when you put both on a sport mode. Malakas din po ung Honda Civic LX Sport if you put it on sport mode, dont get me wrong. The only problem is before siya hahatak may konting lag muna mga 1.5-2 secs in which it isnt supposed to be that way, dapat walang lag. Now the HRV is being compared to a Civic na parehas ung engine nila. But other than that a Honda is a Honda.

I am a Honda HR-V 2018 owner and after almost 5 yr of using my honda, without any issues by the way, I am now switching to Geely Coolray. I hope it will not dissappoint me.
It has been several months since this comment is posted. Wondering po if you already made the switch and if you can provide us a feedback how was it? Planning to get GCR hehe
Eco mode in the Coolray is just bad and laggy due to the restraints to conserve gas. But, if you go Comfort mode in the coolray, it is reactive and zippy as fu.. what more in Sports mode. However, it just really is bad with gas consumption, it's so-so. Honda just kills the competition with the gas consumption part. In terms of interior the Honda HR-V could've done better coolray slays it minus the aircon vents at the back. There's that small bit of injustice given to the coolray though for the top speed section. But still, Honda's getting better. Coolray for second place isn't so bad also. Previous owner of Honda units and currently has a Coolray also btw bago ako ma bash. 🤣

While I’m not super familiar with all these models I feel like one important category is missing…SAFETY!
These are family haulers and safety features should be a high priority. How many airbags? Are crash ratings available? Do they have Automatic Emergency Braking, collision warnings, blind spot monitoring, etc…
Great review otherwise!
It boils down to "it's a Honda" 😅
Honda killed it. But I think we should include a mazda crossover here :)
And the Subaru XV
Ah, the Mazda CX-30 or the CX-5?
IF HR-V will be pitted against the new CX-5 Turbo AWD, then HR-V will eat dust (but it's more expensive.) But CX-30 will surely be unable to hold a candle to that Civic engine.
@@Jan-xf8sk the mazda CX5 is 2.5 million already hahaha

A 30 minute Autodeal video....let me get my popcorn ready.
The V variant is priced at 1.6m, which is way above the price range of the other models included (
Lol it was a Turbo comparo. 😂😂😂 The S variant doesn’t have a Turbo. And that’s why Cacao gave the HR-V a 1pt for the price segment.
And again, as Cacao mentioned.. if price is the most of your concern.. then definitely have the HR-V V Turbo last on your list. That’s why he gave it a 1pt. Gets???
@@smirkinggoku5435 Hi! Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't notice that this was focused on only Turbo variants when I commented this. You're right, 5 seconds in and Caco definitely said "all turbos". It just didn't seem that obvious to me from the title and caption, but that's on my for not listening intently. I'll edit my comment to reflect the oversight.
The cs35+ should be included in this comparo

Comfort, Tech, and the 3 modes where you could
go-
Normal (Yellow), Eco (Blue), Sports (Red).
100% Ka Geely!! No complaints here too!!

My money is on the Coolray by the way.
Traditionally, "turbo lag" is greater with a single turbo design (that is why most of the higher end or performance cars use a dual turbo setup. Great videos from you, thank you.
Honda was always been a reliable brand, performance wise and space management, however the pricing is so high, to my opinion i think the Geely won, cause the value you get from a price point is so much bigger, i m really sad to see Ford loses in driving and engine performance, indeed the engine was so loud and aggressive, therfore Ford is just an overrated brand, I'd personally vote for coolray as a winner, and it'd ve been so much better if you told us what was Driving mode there were in,
so to conclude. in the PH market, i think the Coolray is on top, cause of it s performance, design, material, tech, and it's price, it's really a cool car to get, i'd love to sre them adding vent AC at the back and add the android and Apple to the infotainment system, in the future, that way, even if the price got slightly higher, it would be the best car out there to get compared to the other 3,.

GCR design is not for claustrophobia, but for accident protection. Much body mass as possible
Great comparo between the brands, honda has proven its good quality and reliability for years now.
take two for the Coolray in Sport mode! 😊
Kahit comfort mode lang, pwede na eh 😆😆
our MG for 1 year already, still the best drive.... performs good as new/
Shouldn't MG have been represented by the HS Trophy instead of the ZST? It's in the same ballpark size-wise + price-wise and it also has a turbo. The ZST, notwithstanding its bang-for-your-buck value, would probably be better off being compared with smaller crossovers, in my humble opinion.
I was wondering also....they should have compared the MG HS trophy
this is going to be a popular video by autodeal! kudos guys! well done!🎉
Thanks Caco funny & informative comparo. HRV FTW but i hope they can improve the tech/design of the interior...
My ranking based from the comparo:
1. HRV
2. Coolray
3. Territory
4. MG ZST
then it should've been on normal mode not eco
Eco is the weakest in the selection but as for me I use comfort mode for all the pleasure of driving. Imagine at Eco mode it still very responsive how much more in comfort or sport mode.
Dude coolray is much powerful when it comes to rolling speed...i feel that...
@@user-ft6ir4jf6y Oh yes agreed on this. Have you seen the vid? Coolray vs Civic SIR? I'm like damn! Car is great. Sumibak ng SIR sa rolling start.

Any comparisons with the MG HS?
Kind of choosing between HS & Territory at the moment. As per some people, the Territory eats a lot of gas, & the issue of the HS (going uphill slowly) is pretty typical with its provided transmission, & takes some time for the user & the car to get used to
Just wanted to confirm.
There was a race with my friends with Honda and MG. GCR wins from both stop and rolling start. Like actual quarter mile.
They are all goodlooking...but for me HR V no doubt ✌️
I think it would be fair if you had use the sport mode ( Red color display) for coolray since the Eco mode (Blue display) is the weakest as it signify Eco-nomical. Putting selection on sports mode will push your head on the seat by sudden accelleration. So for me the Coolray is the winner for all the qualities.
@AJ RV depends on how you drive..i get 17km/L on coolray on eco mode..
We appreciate you, Cacs!
That Coolray is almost at par with the acceleration time with the HR-V and to think, it was in Eco mode, now what if it is in Sport Mode, that HR-V could have eat the dust of the Coolray haha
i wonder why they didnt include changan cs35+ luxe in the lineup? i think it will compete well
Big fan of the comparo! Hope you can make one that's HR-V vs Corolla Cross Hybrid.
There's a big difference in acceleration in eco and comfort (normal) mode in Geely Coolray. A bit unfair using eco mode for coolray. You could have also choosen to put it in Sports mode if you're testing just for acceleration.
For me COOLRAY is the best to it's Performance, Interior Quality, Exterior looks and Price 💪
The ZST actually has buttons for the AC.
How come the Changan CS 35 Plus wasn’t included? Seems like a perfect crossover to be included in this comparo
I'll take the Coolray every time
As a previous owner of a 2020 Honda Civic LX Sport, I can say everytime I put it to sport mode there is a bit of a lag. Now as owner of the 2022 Geely Coolray Sport, as far as I can say having owned/ driven both, If I am driving both at a traffic light and the signal drops green, I can assure you my Civic will eat my Coolray's dust if its a battle of Sport mode vs Sport mode.
LX is a non turbo. Not a good comparison
LX is a non turbo. Not a good comparison
✅ Ground Clearance
✅ Fuel Efficiency

Honda just kills the competition with the gas consumption part.
In terms of interior the Honda HR-V could've done better coolray slays it minus the aircon vents at the back.
There's that small bit of injustice given to the coolray though for the top speed section.
