What a performance...36years later, who can improve on there own work after such time. A Legend thats who. (Thank God Farnham never got it). Russell Morris you are one of Australia,s finest talents,Part of an Elite group,I Have been so lucky to have grown up listening to some of the greatest artist this country has had to offer, And you are one of them. Thanks Russell
saw Russell Morris for the first time on 14th August 2011 in Geelong, what beautiful songs, Australia is blessed to have a talent like him, love going through all the RUclips videos, brilliant.
My wife and I saw this Iconic Aussie music legend perform at The Palms at Crown Casino in Melbourne 2013 and I had tears in my eyes at how awesome he and his band were performing these great songs of my youth without missing a beat! My wife and I met Russell backstage and had a chat and took photos with this down to earth Aussie bloke who hit the dizzying heights of the '60's & '70's music scene! It was an honour to meet this iconic Australian musician! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Russell Morris for your awesome talent and music!
i loved your voice when i heard this song in 71 and i thought i would watch this clip out of sympathy. Hell man you have still got it and reconfirmed all over again why i was so in love with your talent when i was a kid. Great great work russell, still have those amazing vocals , you truely are a ledgend!!!!!
I'm a born again Russell Morris fan. Never tire of listening to his voice. I even bought his Real Thing CD compilation, the first CD I've bought in decades. Long may he live!
Why do I find myself watching this clip at least once a week......I,m addicted to talent. Can,t wait to hear what he is going to be like at when he turns 70. Long May You Live Russell Morris
"couldnt get anyone to record it"... it almost defies belief. I used to sing this to my daughter when she was a still a baby, and it still makes me shiver. You always were and always will be one of the true legends of Oz music... and that damn voice really does just keep getting better.
I saw Russell and Brian Cadd performing together last weekend and it was the best gig that I have ever been to. These guys had the crowd up on their feet..singing along with them..it was fantastic and I was transported back to the 70's :-) ! I had tears in my eyes I did LOL. Such great talent that has NOT diminished over the years but has only gotten better. These two blokes could teach the so called current talent a thing or two.
It's sometimes sad to see and hear artist's long after their heyday BUT Russell Morris isn't one of them.He may have less hair !! but his voice if anything sounds better now than it did.A real talent. Can i somehow claim him as a kiwi? The aussies can keep Russell Crowe!!!
I saw Russ way back in the 70's [I am old :-)]...he was fantastic then..and now he is even better!! A true legend of Aussie music...a great singer, muscian and songwriter!!! Go Russ! I am off to see Russell and Brian Cadd in Launceston this month...can't wait!!!
@mrruston22 My pleasure mate..... It was a privilege to be part of the camera crew that night. There are other songs from the gig on my channel..glad u enjoyed it. cheers TC
Russell I also grew up listening to you - really talented musician and beautiful singing that still take my breath away. Beautiful harmonising - I grew up when artists like you made us feel alive.
Russell.,after not seeing you perform for 22 years you were absolutely awesome last Friday night with Brian Cadd! I love you x and the photo we took turned out perfect ! x
Having been once the lead singer in a band with Peter Robinson, I just have to say after seeing this that I am proud of him and that he has followed his passion. I wish I had had the same drive when instead I am but to relish in a distant memory of what once was and what, perhaps, could have been. Talent will out Pete. Well done.
Just saw Russell Morris in the super group The Travellers (with Darryl Braithwaite, Joe Camilleri and Brian Cadd) at the South Coast Blues Festival in Batemans Bay and he sang this and I remember it so well. Just gives me tears of joy.
I saw Russell and Brian Cadd recently. I have always loved the music but to witness them live was unbelievable. Russell in particular was phenomenal...his voice is pure!! Had a few too many and told him I loved him and gave him a big kiss...hope he didn't take it too seriously...I meant I loved his music.
Saw Russell Morris sing this song live last night (Friday 26/2/2016) at the Fringe Festival in Adelaide. Absolutely brilliant. The crowd went berserk when he finished with this timeless classic. Thankyou Russell!
YGTSTV I agree, I saw him in 2013 at The Palms in Melbourne and he did not miss a beat, plus we met him after the show and he was just an amazing person, I have loved him since I was a kid in the '60's and he did not let me down. Best musician to come out of Australia!
Still an amazing voice. The only thing I didn't like were the exaggerated notes and the slowdown. I know he is showcasing his voice but no need to try and improve on the original. We are all so glad you did it yourself rather than JF. Brilliant then and you've still got it. Hoping for a few albums. What's up with the lack thereof?
Takes me back to the 70s cruising in the EH and this blaring from the crappy Clarion stereo lol. You're like a fine wine Russell, you just keep getting better every damn year and may it continue for many years to come man! Awesome doesn't seem even close to summing that up!
Had the awesome experience of seeing this amazing Aussie performer a week ago at the Frankston Arts Centre. Wow what a night. Russell delivered everything past and present with such power. He is such an icon. I even got up and danced with usher!
This is one of my favourite songs and rightly so its one of those epic numbers that never dates!! Love it, so glad I finally found it on here great Russell Morris and band -one of the best!!
God! This is such a gorgeous piece!!!!!! Delightful presentation!! The song is an absolute gem!!!!!! A timeless classic!!! With much kindness and best wishes........
Saw him in 69 and yes I am old but had this was at my wedding 3 years ago and still have a tear in my eye whenever I hear it! just a great song keep it going
Thank god you did Russell , if John had got it he would have screamed into the mic on many of his comeback tours, thanks Russell for this song and all of the others, love your music.
Russell Morris has an awesome voice and unusual style of singing. He often touches his nose upon the microphone. He has been a singer since he was a kid and used to go around to the late Les Gough’s house at Richmond to practice with his mates.
Great song from an Aussie legend, can't get enough of Russell Morris, love his music and only sorry I missed this great concert at the New Capers in Hawthorn

Just adore this song! Can't seem to get into his new stuff but, for some reason. Maybe to do with so many childhood recollections when listening to his original gems. But still glad he's getting some critical acclaim, and finally making some decent bucks.

I'm a born again Russell Morris fan. Never tire of listening to his voice. I even bought his Real Thing CD compilation, the first CD I've bought in decades. Long may he live!

HE is playing on Daydream island tonight! RIGHT NOW as I type!!! OMG I play this song over and over and over... DELISH!
Is it possible that Russell's voice is even better now than in 1969/1970? Man, I enjoyed that! Bravo.

He's great, I admit- but don't forget Stevie Wright.
