Thank you Marcus ! You mentioned showing rigging the hook at the end of the vid; that would be helpful. I'll look at your other vids. I always tie a loop in the mono and thread the hook on, then wrap the mono around the hook shank once for rigidity, but the little junction tube things look faster and easier if I'm understanding them right
Thanks so much for discussing this in such detail. Getting interested in tube flies and it’s really hard to purchase these products online without being able to see them in person. Cheers!
haha...your timing is impeccable. I just ordered more tube fly tying material....looks like I may have to make a trip over the hill this weekend to see you guys and get some more.
Great Video. Got a question for you. Is it possible to tie tube flies for Smallmouth patterns and be able to strip them. Like crawdads or Clousers on a tube? Even more of a weirdo question, is it possible to tie deer hair flies on a tube? I just moved to West Virginia and fishing for a lot of smallmouth on a switch rod., I came from Northern Ohio where tube flies were for Steelheads and would like to try Smallmouth tubes if possible?
Which weights are you referencing? I've seen flies spin a bit in the tank and when I'm fishing in any number of situations. I don't think the weights will make them more likely to spin around. I've found that flies without defined wings or dumbell eyes tend to spin more because they lack stabilization

Marcus do you see that flys spin as you swing them when you are using the tube weights?

Ashland FlyShop I mean the cylinder weights that look like copper tubes
@@Belbivdevoe Oh I have not tied with those much so I'm not sure how they effect the way the fly swims or if they're more likely to spin. Sorry!
What kind of knot do you tie to lock your hook behind the tube?
We like the triple surgeon's loop knot
WOO! thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Why on earth would the nanotubes be larger than the micro tubes. Pro sport fisher should learn the metric system....
LOL
