I searched for this song for over 36 years, never forgot the tune and that lyric "Baby hold on". It drove me nuts as I could not find it. When I was in my early 20s I LOVED this song. I was a welder at the Bird Machine Company in South Walpole, Mass. I used to hear this song played often on the radio and it always struck a chord with my romantic heart. I ended up going into the USAF in 1981 and made a career in the military, got married, had kids and just never forgot this song but could't find it anywhere. Long story short, I had googled parts of the lyrics many times to try to find "Baby hold on" and had even convinced myself it was Roger Daltrey who had sung this, but no luck. Well, thank God that I once again Googled the "Baby hold on" lyric just a month ago and found that it was Badfinger who made this song. I have listened to it over and over again through RUclips and it takes me back to a very special time in my life when I was younger. Songs like this still melt my heart and I'm very happy to be "reunited" after all this time. I just don't understand why I cannot buy this song on I-tunes? I sure would love to have it as part of my music collection!!!
Nice story! Glad you found it eventually. If you want an mp3 copy, just copy and paste the URL in this link and download it for your collection: ytmp3.cc/en13/
I heard this on the radio exactly one time in 1981. Great pop song. Had it been recorded by a Billy Joel or a Hall and Oates, it probably would have been a big hit. Badfinger, of course, never had such luck, unfortunately.
I wouldn't say "never." They had four consecutive top ten hits in the early seventies. I do think this song could have done a little better, though. It's very catchy.
Só não foi maior por causa do pilantra do empresário deles e responsável direto pele Ham tirar sua vida, a banda era sensacional demais, músicas que vc ouve e ouve é quer ouvir Novamente
HOLD ON úvodná pieseň z albumu SAY NO MORE, ktorý nahrala zostava Molland, Evans, Tony Kaye klavesy,Glenn Sherba gitara a Richard Bryans bicie. Vo februari 1981 v USA skončila na 56.m. V novembri 1981 sa Kaye pripojil ku skupine Camera, ktorá v skoro pôvodnej zostave sa vrátila k názvu Yes.

This is up there with their early 70s hits. They could have made a real comeback but unfortunately Stan Polley’s evil deeds still affected them, leading Tom Evans to kill himself two years after this came out. Just awful
Technically, Joey Molland wasn't an original member of the band, he wasn't there for the first Ivey's album or "Magic Christian Music" either, I think he joined before the "No Dice" album........
@@Denilson-Carreiro As far as Badfinger is concerned, Molland was an original member. The Iveys were a precursor to Badfinger, and had a different name.
@@davewebbtheauthor No, Ron Griffiths was originally in Badfinger and performed on the break though song Come And Get It, but left the band soon afterwards replaced Joey Molland.
@@benadam7753 Yes, Griffiths was on Come and Get It. The song was recorded as the Iveys but released as Badfinger. By the time the song was released, he was not even in the band. He is mostly considered an Iveys member and a Badfinger original only by technicality.
A terrific, but sadly underrated song. Great vocals, guitar work and keyboards. Very catchy. It should have been a much bigger hit.
It did hit # 56. Radio Records couldn't handle the distrubtion
Agreee!!
God bless you Tommy. You will always be loved by us Badfinger fans.
RIP Tommy, Pete and Mike.
I thought I had seen all the Badfinger videos, nope, thanks for posting this gem.

@@davewebbtheauthor Thanks very much!
@@davewebbtheauthor do have any other never seen before badfinger clips with pete Joey tom and mike
@@nx_ytgaming5245 Sorry. Wish I did. Great band.
@@davewebbtheauthor thanks
Tommy's voice was so wonderful!
It's almost exactly like McCartney's
McCartney did not record this song. You might be thinking of "Come and Get It."
Personally I prefer Tommy's voice over McCartney
Tony Kaye Is wonderful with his piano
Love this song ..joey just a lovely guy ..tom so talented may his memory always be for a blessing..
Rock on Tom. You were the best.
Was a hit on local Erie stations when I was in college and yet you’d never hear it on a Pittsburgh station 100 miles away
Tommy sounds great !!
this had the potential to be a real hit.
+Alexander Macdonald It was a hit when it was called No Matter What (another Badfinger song that sounded similar)
It was a minor hit, top 60 in America

I should clarify; when I said "never had such luck," I was referring specifically to this song. Should've been a hit.
❤❤LOVE❤❤
I’m surprised this song isn’t on iTunes!!!
Your post is 4 years old, I just looked, it’s on ITunes now. 👍
Остается только сожалеть,что ребята не полностью расправили крылья-не успели.Были бы на уровне Битлов

This track should have cracked the BB TOP 40.
Absolutely!

Someone needs to tell RUclips this is not the Wilson Phillips song.
This seems somewhat reminiscent of baby blue, in a particular way.
can,t agree with that sorry.
